Perfect fit -
First time I tried them on they fit just right. Great support and light weight, but well built.

Good shoe -
This shoe looks different from the picture. It laces higher on the foot than other Keen shoes. After all that is said the shoe is great.

Size is good and as expected, however, the fit is a bit tight over my instep and the shoe laces are now too short. I simply did not use the last eyelet. Perhaps including longer laces would fix this.

The only shoes that I don't have to wear an orthotic. Last forever.

Really like the shoes and they seem to hold up during long hours at work 8-10 hours on feet everyday. Get a lot of cokmpliments on the looks as well. Run wider than actual size but not too much slipping in the shoe.

I initially really liked these shoes. During the past 5-6 years I have purchased 4 pairs, starting with size 11, then 11 ½, 12 and 13. I tolerated the size 12 for several months even though my second toe was hitting the end of the shoe and my feet were killing me by the end of the day. I finally could no longer tolerate the pain so I purchased a size 13 but they were like clown shoes and I returned them (thank you, Zappos). So I purchased another size 12 with the hope that they would be a bit larger than the 12’s I had been wearing. I discovered Keen had changed the inner lining of the shoes and put a seam directly in front of the second toe in the pair I had been wearing. The new pair of 12’s did not have the seam and so far they are much more comfortable than the old size 12’s. If you buy these shoes, make certain the inner lining does not have the seam.
I recommend these shoes only if the shoes don’t have the seam—otherwise, try another brand and style. Keen really screwed up a very comfortable, durable shoe but hopefully they have reverted to the old design for the inner lining permanently.

The shoe looks great and is comfortable. I'm not sure if it's because it's new, but the upper part is extremely stiff. I want to use these for work and hopefully after some normal usage the shoe begins to "give" a bit.

These are not the shoe for me. I really thought I would like them more, but I found them to be incredibly stiff, and not very comfortable.

I was disappointed in these compared to my last Keens (Oslo). As other reviewers noted they are quite stiff, without much flex in the middle of the shoe. More like a boot than a sneaker. Also if I tighten the laces too much, the corners on the sides of the tongue dig into the front of my foot and I have to loosen them. They are also quite difficult to get on; I have to loosen the laces about halfway down the eyelets before I can get them on. I have worn the shoes at this point for about 6 full days.

I love Keen shoes. Have never had anything but positives to say, but this one kind of cuts into my ankles unless I wear thick socks.

I have been a loyal wearer of Keen sneakers for 12+ years, and have never encountered a style so horribly uncomfortable fresh out of the box. The upper is extremely stiff, including the tongues - the rubber logo sewn on the tongue is positioned so that even if you try to bend and soften the tongues, they will not sit comfortably. The laces feel cheap and stretchy - to the point where while walking, the shoes kept loosening up so that my foot would shift just enough to rub against the super stiff back of the heel. A short walk (just over a mile on mostly smooth sidewalks) left me with blisters on the back of both feet, and pain from where the top of the tongues dug into the front of my ankles.

I’ve been wearing Keen Austin’s for work for about 9-10 years. They are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I never have to break them in. The price has gone up the last couple of years though.

I think I’m on about my 10th or 11th pair of Keen Austins. All but one pair have been perfect in fit and performance. They have improved the quality of the laces and the insoles pull out to accommodate custom orthotics. The toe box is wide enough and I sense no pressure points. My only fear is that Keen might stop making them at some point….then what????

I've been wearing these almost daily for almost 6 weeks now. These come equipped with standard Keen comfort that's not so standard in other shoes. The toe box is very roomy without feeling clunky. Arch and heel are both well supported. Soles have good grip even in wet weather. These are my 3rd pair of Keens and I'll almost certainly be back for more in the future. Oh yeah, bought these from Zappos so you know the service and delivery was outstanding!

Very happy with these so far. Was looking for a nice shoes to wear at work where I average 15,000 steps a day. These fit the bill, and look good with dress pants or jeans. More cushion than I was expecting, and a nice wide toe box is also appreciated.

I am on my 3rd pair of Austins. The first was purchased right after they were introduced, and the rubber pulled away from the leather after a while. The second did not so this, and held up very well. Eventually, the "cushiness" went away and it was like walking on boards, but it took a good two years of almost everyday wear to get to that point. After a few years wearing some OK Eccos, I just got my third pair, and I've ordered another to mothball in case they ever stop making these.
These are the nost comfortable shoes I've ever worn. The wide toe box is great.

My go to shoe for all occasions. I have big flat feet and these give me plenty of toe room. Wear these to work on concrete floors all day every day. Recommend highly. Zappos provides fast friendly service and has a great return policy a must for online shoe shopping.

I usually purchase Keen's or Ecco's depends on how I am wanting to use the shoe. Keens are great and this shoe was no different, they live up to their name.

After owning several pairs of Keen Austins over the years since 2006, I was a little bit hesitant to order a new pair based on reviews stating the quality had significantly deteriorated. The last pair I purchased was in 2013. I can say now that I can't disagree more. If anything, I would say they have improved on the quality. The only real visible change is in the foot bed, which is now a black fabric/foam insole as apposed to the old leather/foam ones. I don't use the original foot beds anyway. Superfeet copper insoles are a perfect fit, and make these Keens the most comfortable shoes I own. I wear these for 9-10 hours a day at work on concrete floors and couldn't be happier with them!

A great every day comfortable shoe. Honestly, the only issue I have is that because I wear either my black or brown pair every day I wear out the inner support in about 9 months.

Awesome, love them. I had a pair before, and they feel great. I enjoy the large toe-box area. Your toes feel like they can simple stretch out, instead of being narrowly jammed in.

Fit is true to size. Nice toe box. Love Nubuck in any shoe I wear. I have the Targa II as my casual knock around pair. The Austin has the same fit as the Targa II. I'll give it 5 stars. My only gripe is the shoe string material. Normally woven strings have a core cord inside giving density allowing tightening adjustment. They're no where as slick for adjustment through the eyes as any of my hiking and hunting boots. Really no gripe at all but when you're used to a quality string, this one isn't.

This is a biased review. I am a major Keen fan. Between shoes and sandals I own more than 12 pairs. Each pair has been great and in a Keen sort of way different than the norm. I have a wide forefoot and fairly narrow heel. So I seek out “Duck Toe” style shoes and most Keen’s fit that bill. Even the ones that do not have the trademark rand around the toe and the wide toe area are jjust as comfortable to wear. I wear a pair of Keen’s more than any other shoes. I have a pair of Newport H2 sandals that are approaching 16 years of constant use and the bottoms still look like new. They were my first Keen’s and sold me on the brand. The Austins felt great out of the box. I like that they are sturdy and provide a bit of support. They look great and feel great. I like being just a little different than the rest.
I'd also recommend:
Just buy Keen’s they are the best. GoLite’s are no longer available.
