I was looking for a thicker-sole alternative to the Mexico 66 and was hoping these would be it, but it's not as soft and doesn't fit my feet as well as the Mexico 66. The toe box is smaller and the shoe is just stiffer and rubs in spots. They look great, but I won't be keeping these. Guess I'll stick with Mexico 66!

Very beautiful and flashy shoe, but the leather and the fabric on the outside gets dirty VERY easily. The shoe seems to sit on a platform which makes it a bit unstable to walk on. The back side of the shoe tended to catch on my Achilles tendon and tear it open, until my tendon scarred enough to withstand it. It's very beautiful but lacks a lot in terms of comfort or practicality

Needed to go up an entire whole size from normal (and I wear a lot of Onitsukas...) due to the leather material used on the top. It's just a tighter fit, so be aware that the toe box is narrower and/or more resistant to stretching. The picture also doesn't reflect the accurate shape of the shoe--it is a "normal" flat-bottom Onitsuka, but the sole is roughly double-thick (from say the Tiger 66 version).

These accommodate my feet very well, and the fit is good (I ordered half a size lower than normal), but it seems like the ankles are a little low, or as if they didn't leave room inside for your foot to go all the way in. (I've encountered something similar with platform sneakers/creepers.) Even laced all the way up and cinched tight, they feel like they want to slip off. There isn't much support, but I don't care; I got them mainly for their style, which I love. The soles don't squeak, and they're very light and a little bit springy. I expect to wear them until they disintegrate, which I hope will take a long time. :)

Not as comfortable as previous pairs of Tigers, but pretty cool looking.

Latest Corsairs -
I loved the 30th anniversary Corsair 70's; am glad to see new styles come out. I'm not crazy about the new suede components on these though, at least on the camel/ecru pair I got. I think the suede detracts from the otherwise clean looks and as it darkens that will increase. Nonetheless these are very light and comfortable sneaks, great for everyday casual wear and walking. The looks can't be beat. My experience with Corsairs is they fit small and narrow, at least in my size (11-11.5D) range. I wear 12's with a modest insole added and it works out fine.
I'd also recommend:

These look amazing, but they run way small and way narrow - at least in the larger sizes. I usually wear a 13-14 in everything, ordered a 14 for these, and my feet were squeezed from all sides.

This was my first pair of Onitsuka Tiger by Asics athletic shoes. My daughter has a couple of pairs of the Mexico 66 style and considers them some of the most comfortable shoes she owns. There wasn't a lot of color choice in my size (W 7.5) in stock, so I went with the red/gray fabric Mexico 66. The pair arrived quickly, I liked the way they looked much more than I thought that I would. They were very lightweight and comfortable EXCEPT in the heel, each of which had prominent areas and stitching that rubbed against my heels, especially on the left; within a few hours, both were red and sore. I was disappointed that I would have to return them because of this, because in every other way I was pleased. When we checked my daughters shoes, she confirmed that hers, which are leather and not fabric like mine, do not have a seam or prominence in the heel area. I'm returning these and ordering another pair of Mexico 66 in the leather.

Addendum -
I wore these a lot since my first review. I need to add that the uppers seem to be some sort of cheaper grade leather or leather type material than the older Corsairs I mentioned. I think I saw someone mention they used a similar material on certain 81 LE's. I've downgraded my "stars" accordingly. Sorry.

Dun feel good with craked leather, not a smooth surface and the color is not consistent.

I think Onitsuka Tiger's supplier in the US market is different than their one for the Japanese market. I had been buying Tigers in Japan while I lived there, for many years, and was always quite happy with them. I'm now two pairs in with Tigers bought here in the US, and honestly they're both just unwearable. Blisters on my feet, WAY too small (despite getting the same size that I always had), and frankly the build quality of the shoe feels off as well. I notice my old Tigers bought in Japan are made in Indonesia while both pairs bought in the US are made in Vietnam. Perhaps this explains the difference.
