I returned these immediately. My first impression when opening the box was that they looked cheap and not like leather at all, they were shiny and the "material" was very thin and didnt have much flex, very stiff. This was the black color, and couldnt see any leather grain at all, almost like dull patent leather shoes. They were almost too light, which might work for some people, but to me it just feels cheap. I was really hoping for soft leather and comfortable. The insole wasnt anything special either, nothing extra comfy about them at all. Spend more if you need to and buy something else.

I found these shoes to be so cheaply made that I never tried them on. Both the uppers and the sole were flimsy, and the sole and its tread were hard and brittle; they couldn't possibly provide safe tracion.

Ordered 5 H. P. shoes, all same size I have worn for years. Only 2 fit. The 3 that didnt were all made in China and were absurdly small for an extra wide shoe. Better quality control H. P. ?

I regret buying these shoes. I have flat-wide feet and bought these because I understood they would be wide and uncomfortable. The "support" insert I find very uncomfortable, so I've had to remove it to wear the shoes at all. With that removed, the shoe feels like a big boat and it is still feel very uncomfortable for me. After a couple of wears, these will be left in the closet and never worn as my feet can't take the pain from their design. I tried to wear them to work and they didn't look as professional as I had hoped either. But I do like the style if I was wearing docker type pants.

I was disappointed in these shoes. I have flat and wide feet and the "comfort curve" in these shoes really hurt my feet. It's pressing right into my flat feet. Had to return.

Bad news! The top shoe material is great, but the artificial soles are dangerous in that they are slippery. Could be hazardous to your slipping and falling.

Out of the box these shoes look good. The leather feels supple. I use custom orthotics, and so I took out the insoles that came with the shoes and wanted to slip in my orthotics, and I noticed at once there were two left insoles! Terrible. Then I put in my orthotics and saw the shoes were far longer than my Asics and Rockports, and put them on. In fact, they are a half size larger than indicated. But what makes these shoes unacceptable is that they give you zero support. Not just zero arch support, they don't hold your foot in place. Junk!

The great and the horrible. These shoes are incredibly light and soft. They get 5 stars for that. HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE NARROW FLAT FEET DO NOT BUY THESE! I wear a 12B (narrow) and even in size Narrow these shoes are still way too wide. My feet killed by the end of the day due to a lack of proper support and I ended up throwing them in the garbage.

Very uncomfortable shoe. My previous Gus shoes had a very soft upper and were pleasant to wear. Unfortunately after quite a few years of use they had to be replaced. The new Gus has a stiff upper with what seems to be plastic inserts that will never break in.
