Really stylish and chic, especially with white/navy tennis kit. Sizing a bit of a problem, 9.5 way too big, 9 a tad tight, especially in the length. Other than that - very pleased. Also, when the original too large pair arrived, Zappos Customer Service could not be more helpful. A replacement pair arrived the following day. I will definately buy again from Zappos. TC

I wasn't sure I'd like these shoes, but I really do. Very comfortable. They do not run small, despite what some reviews say. I think they are true to size. They have very squishy, comfy soles. And, they look stylish, classic. I'm very pleased with them. They also happen to be the quietest shoes I've ever worn. Laugh if you must, but I'm serious. I've had lots of athletic shoes that "clop" because the soles are hard. These seem to be silent to me. So far no squeaking on linoleum either. These shoes might be very good for ninjas if they came in all black. My only complaint is that they are very low-top shoes. I'm used to New Balance cross trainers and such. These don't lace up as high and, to me, feel loose in the heel. I haven't gotten blisters despite walking a lot in them. So, make of that what you will.

Great looking shoe. I measure out to be a 10 so I ordered a 10. The 10 was too small (the toe box is really tight), so I returned them and ordered a 10.5. They fit perfectly. Zappos is the best!

I hate shopping. I tried these shoes on in a size 9.5 in a local store. I needed a ten but they were not available in that size so I ordered them from Zappos.com. They fit very well. They are great shoes. I would say think about buying a half size larger than you normally wear - at least that was the case for myself. They offer a good deal of support. They're lightweight. And they're nice looking. All in all, a good shoe. I am giving them an overall 4-star review. I figure for five stars they would have to lace themselves on my feet.

Great comfort without all the bells and whistles - I love these sneakers. They are like what I used to wear. It's so hard to find this type of thing now. Comfy, simple, basic white that looks great with everything. So many sneakers have too much now - and so many colors I get dizzy. If you're looking for something to just walk in, play tennis, go shopping – whatever. These are great! If you want to run a marathon - THEN go get the fancy jogging sneaks!

Classic cool look, slick sole - I really like the classic look and style of the shoe, the only down side is the sole of the shoe, I feel like I am walking on slick plastic instead of rubber with some traction. Let's face it I bought them for the retro look and occasional wear, not everyday, so they meet the need.

Hard to keep clean! These shoes are quite comfortable. I have no qualms there. However, they have proven to be very hard to keep clean. The laces become blackened by the metal eyelets and the mesh fabric accumulates dirt and grime very easily. In addition, the sole is comprised of a more lightweight foam rubber than is traditionally used in athletic shoes. As a result the sole will tear up easily. These shoes are only for casual wear and not for actual competitive tennis!

Good shoes and great service - I haven’t worn sneakers in a while and decided to by some Lavers. Nice, comfortable, light shoe. I had to return the 8.5 and get a 9. Seriously, order a half size up. The Zappos staff was great and the shipping was very fast.

Great shoes, but not for tennis - I bought these shoes because I wanted a comfortable pair of shoes that I could wear everyday, and occasionally use on the tennis court. They are really comfortable and feel great, however they are most definitely not tennis shoes. I used them once on the court and already wore through the green coloring on the front and I am kind of worried that a few more tennis matches might put a hole in them. If you are thinking about buying these with tennis in mind especially frequent use on the court look somewhere else. If you are buying them for style and comfort then they are great.

Great shoe!!! When the summer comes around nothing like a canvas shoe. Thicker sole provides more comfort that other more trendy brands and they can be washed. My Dad wore these when was young and they are still around. Nuff said!!

A comfortable classic - A little stiff at first, but with regular wear, break in smoothly and maintain good support. As a casual shoe, they are comfortable enough for all day wear and breathe well. If you are someone who often finds themselves between sizes, order up.

Remember, it's a tennis shoe - I don't like to give out 5 stars too liberally, because then there's nothing to improve on, so remember that when looking at my scores. They just get somewhat uncomfortable when I've been wearing them for extended periods of time, but I may be tying them too tightly. They may feel a bit odd at first if you bought them to use as a casual shoe, because they are tennis shoes, so they are built for lots of lateral movement. They do tend to get dirty pretty quickly, so be careful!

Great classic shoes - Was very uncomfortable for few days but after broken in, they are very comfortable. I gave 4 stars because the shoe laces get dirty probably from the metal parts. I am very satisfied with my purchase overall.

Very comfortable sneaker. Lightweight for summer, which is what I wanted. Looks great on. I love that the original styles are back. This one is timeless.

Does look great but could use more comfort for support - I got these shoes on a generous overnight shipping from Zappos. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. Only thing is that at first it's a bit hard on your feet and that it could definitely use more support. I'm quickly getting used to them though. Great looking shoes that are great for people who don't mind having to go through some feet pain in the first few days.

Great style, but a little stiff, and the seams can be felt from the inside. Good thing I just kick about in these, ‘cause no one has any business playing tennis in them.

I was excited to get these but had to return them as the fit runs small. A lot of cushioning.

Shoe came to me and I noticed that for some reason the shoe is significantly heavier than my other pair that are the same size. I weighed the left shoe and from each and the new one is 19.8oz compared to my existing left which is 12oz. Weird. Too heavy!

I'm normally a 7.5. I thought a 38 would fit fine, but I truly needed to go a half size up. I had some arch support issues on the first wearing which were resolved by making sure the laces were tied correctly. It is a really cute shoe that goes well with jeans, khakis and casual skirts.

The original Rod Lavers...cool looking shoe, but I guess I had forgotten how heavy they were. Also, one of the metal eyelets pulled out after only a few days. As always, great buying experience at Zappos.

Sadly, these are not the same Rod Laver shoes from even a few years ago. I am not especially hard on my shoes, so my last pair lasted 9 years of casual wear. Yes, they were pretty ratty when I gave them up, but they were still very comfortable to wear. This new pair is constructed differently. The sole is now a hard rubber, much like you would expect on old-school basketball shoes. Older Rod Lavers had a moderately spongy sole material that gave a mild bounce to your step. These new shoes are just hard and have no cushion at all. If you lover Rod Laver shoes in the past, you might be disappointed with these.

Unfortunately, I have to return these, because they run far narrower and longer than my current Adidas sneakers. They were also a little heavier than I expected them to be. However, they look great and would likely be very comfortable. If they came in a wide, I would definitely exchange and keep them.

I had purchased a pair of Rod Lavers last year for my son. He loved them. Bought a new pair for him recently that I had to return. Adidas has changed the sole of the shoe. It is heavier now which by itself would not be a major issue however in doing so have also eliminated any arch support. Be forewarned that the new version has no arch support at all.
