Nice shoe. Comfortable and true to size; I wear a Wide. Good for walking. The sole is good; however, I didn't expect the slanted heel area. Find I need to get used to that shape. Leather and footbed are very soft. All in all, a good shoe.

Comfortable and durable - I was looking to replace my 10-year-old leather Tevas and these were the closest match. They are a bit more outdoors-y than I wanted, but they are comfortable and durable. They are pretty stiff and need some breaking in, but they are supportive and well padded.

The other reviewers are right on; these boots are amazingly comfortable right out of the box. I was shocked that there was no break in time required at all. My only complaint is that they seem a little narrow for medium width. It's not a major problem but had I known I might've gone a half size larger. Still, a great pair of boots, and they look fantastic! Lots of compliments.

Pure comfort!
Purchasing shoes that give my problem feet comfort & support is nearly an impossible task for me, however, this shoe fit the bill perfectly. The adjustable straps & cushy footbed make walking a pleasure. I have been doing some rather heavy walking on the brick/cobblestone streets of Cambridge in these with no problems. Also, although these shoes are somewhat clunky, they are not too bad looking for the level of comfort they provide. Construction is durable & the leather straps are nice and soft (no rubbing!).

Looks ok with capris and shorts, but not a sandal I'd wear with a skirt. This is not a sandal to wear around water! The sole becomes very slippery when wet.

This is a comfortable, rugged sandal with pretty good support. I have high arches and foot problems, but I was able to wear this sandal comfortably. Could use a little more arch support, but that's just my bad feet!

I ordered these for an upcoming trip, hoping they would have the support and comfort of my old (discontinued) Tevas, which are shabby and more casual, and have had the Teva STINK since they were new (I have to put them in the washer all the time). These Pretty Ruggeds do not have nearly the arch support of my old ones, and I need that. Also it took me 3 tries to find a pair (same size) that didn't hurt my feet where the plastic triangle is. I am disappointed- I sent back 2 pairs of black and am now trying a pair of "crow" (what color are crows if not black?) which seem to fit slightly differently. Bring back the arch support of my old Tevas (but without the odor, please)! Chacos have good arches and no odor but the footbed irritates my feet... such a dilemma.

I normally love Teva's because I have wide, hard to fit feet. These felt great, look great, but don't fit the same as the Nylon Teva's. I tried 2 different sizes and the strap across the front of the ankle was very tight. I measured, it was about an inch shorter than other Teva's I own. Definitely would be great for a more narrow foot, but I was afraid it wouldn't work if my feet would swell. Otherwise very comfy!! I LOVE Zappos, they are great!

I like the cushioning in the sole. I wore them while working on a roof and the grip was good. They required little breaking in. I have wide feet and would prefer a width option. The ankle strap could be longer. There could be more arch support.

Teva Pretty Rugged Leather is the sandal I can count on to get me through a day of walking or working with energy to spare. Adjustable for even my feet, which are wide only across the bridge of the foot, and soft and foot-friendly everywhere. I have a high instep and have to adjust the overlap ankle strap farther than the makers intended, which leaves a lot of velcro showing to pick up every bit of fuzz I encounter, but I still haven't found a better all-around sandal.

I wish the straps covered more of the velcro. The leather looks good. The insoles are comfortable. The connectors between the straps need some breaking in. I need these for a trip to Spain and I hope they support my feet well when I need something more airy than my walking shoes and socks.

The shoes are well designed and comfortable enough. The pair I got had a problem in the left shoe. Also it looks fine and feels fine with my fingers, something at the bottom makes me feel funny around the outer ball area of my left foot. It's like I'm standing on a rock that makes my foot roll inward. It's not very pronounced feeling but after walking for a while, I can't ignore it. I've been trying to "break in" by wearing it a lot but the problem woudn't go away. Thanks very much to Zappos, I got permission to return the pair. I'm grateful for that.

Velcro not long enough -
I got these for everyday use. My feet are medium but the velcro was barely long enough. The other problem is that the little toe is inside the bands. After a long day at the museum my toes were so sore! It took almost a week to feel better. Also, I prefer a lot of cushion, and less support. If you want support this shoe is good, unless your foot is unusually shaped. My left foot bends in the middle, which makes it seem wider and puts the toes in a different position. However, after almost a month, the bump has evened out.

These are my fourth pair of Teva sandals, and the second pair of Pretty Rugged. I have loved Teva sandals in the past and am usually sad when the cold weather comes around and I have to put the sandals away. This particular pair, however, is somewhat problematic. The bottom strap on the left shoe runs across my foot exactly at the wrong place. Even after wearing them for two weeks, and tightening and loosening the strap whenever I have them, I still can’t get it to fit right. I don’t know if Teva has changed their production or if this is just a quirk. I haven’t given up yet on the sandals, but if the problem continues, I probably will start looking for a different brand next time. As for Zappos, however, I have nothing but praise. I’m amazed how quickly my shoes got here. When I do shop around for another pair of shoes, this will be my first stop.

I have owned Teva sandals for years and have always had no problem ordering my size and knowing they would be a wonderful fit right out of the box. Not any more. The quality of materials has deteriorated in the past year. This shoe rubbed a tender spot under my ankle after only three minutes of wear. I then ordered 4 other styles of Teva hoping to find a comfortable pair. No luck. They all had to be returned. Very disappointing.

A huge disappointment -
I have never been so unpleasantly surprised by a shoe in my life. I was expecting a comfortable walking sandal. Instead, I got something with a t-strap buckle that digs into the inside of my ankle and really hurts. It does not matter how loosely I fasten the buckle - it still digs in quite painfully and wearing these sandals is unbearable.

On wet surfaces, dangerous -
I have worn Teva sandals for years and loved them. I was excited to see the pretty Rugged in leather. The first day I wore them I fell down on a damp floor at McDonalds. In trying to get up I could not get traction. I thought it was an oily substance on the floor. At home I put a small amount of water on a ceramic tile floor tested the shoes. No traction. I put on one Pretty Rugged Nylon and the leather on the other foot. The sole of the nylon had no trouble with traction on the same floor. I love the shoe but hesitate to wear them. Has anyone else had this problem?
