True comfort - This is my second pair of Chacos (the dog ate the first ones!) and I am again very happy with them. After I got the straps where I wanted them (the toes are a little hard to adjust at first), my feet just slide right in. I have wide feet and these sandals actually make my feet look less huge. You can definitely pair them with a casual skirt, shorts, capris, and even jeans. I must stress that these are great walkers. I trekked all over Scotland last summer, even in the rain, with no pain or discomfort. I usually have leg or knee pain by the end of the day in my dressier sandals, but with the Chacos there is no pain. I highly recommend these shoes even over my beloved Tevas due to a more modern look and wider width. They don't even get smelly and are very easy to wash. These sandals should last me around 5-8 years unless I need a fashion update.

Chaco Z2 - My husband took me to a backpacking store about 9 years ago and bought me a pair. I have worn them almost every day, every summer since then. (We live in Texas and have long summers.) I am checking the price of getting them resoled against the price of a new pair. I think I am going to get them resoled. The only thing that has been the least bit inconvenient is that the toe strap bothers me when I drive- so I drive barefoot. I have also found it more comfortable to only cinch them down tight when I am actually hiking. They have been the best shoes I have ever owned!

Love 'em - Great sandal that's good for just about any activity. They're more rugged than most, which also means that they're a bit heavier (as they should be).

Pleasant first experience with Zappos and Chaco - I never bought Chaco sandals before and had never used Zappos.com before. I got my order in one day (less than 24 hours); they were the right size, the right color -- exactly what I ordered. The shoes fit; I've been wearing them every day since the minute I got them. I'd definitely buy from Zappos again, no time and energy wasted dragging myself from store to store and if I absolutely make a mistake and order something that is not suitable, then I have the option of returning them without too much trouble.

No complaints! I adore the fact that you can cinch down (or extend) each strap to fit your foot. My narrow foot does not look awkward in this shoe like it does in Tevas and other similar shoes. It was worth every penny!

My favorite sandal - I have such picky feet and summertime is usually a difficult footwear season for me. Flip flops of any sort are uncomfortable because my feet are so narrow. But I LIVE in these shoes now; excellent arch support and overall comfort. And very cute and sporty. I can wear them right into the water and with skirts and jeans - they go everywhere! Getting the straps just right took a bit of getting used to - but thanks to other people's reviews, I knew to read the side of the box for directions. Also, I normally wear a 7.5 and the 7 fit perfectly. Thank you Chaco and thank you Zappos!

Unaweep - These have the straps I am familiar with. The same holds true for all the Chaco sandals for me. The arch support is excellent, the anti-roll heel is superb, the color of the straps is a nice change from black or brown and I just love the sandals. I work on my feet 12 hours a day in the heat and my feet and legs do not hurt at the end of the day.

WOW - These are the most comfortable pair of sandals that I have ever worn. Since receiving them, I have worn them all day walking/hiking and my feet have felt great at the end of the day. They are definitely worth the investment!

Chacos - I may be a little bias. I have wanted these shoes for quite some time, but didn't exactly want to spend the $ on them. I broke down and got them and I am very satisfied. The shoes fit incredibly well and are very comfortable. They do take a little bit to get used to - the toe strap takes a little time to adjust and to figure out how to wear them so they're the most comfortable.

I love my Chaco's! This is my third pair of Chaco sandals, and I love them. I bought the toe loop design this time. It gives you more stability and less slippage when you use them around water. You cannot beat Chaco for comfort and durability. I wear these everywhere!

Best All Purpose Sandal Ever! I wanted a pair of these shoes so I visited a local Outdoor Supplier. Having Fred Flintstone feet, the medium width was not for me. Zappos carried the wide width which I find very comfortable. I have swam and hiked in these shoes. Today, I am wearing to an outdoor wedding where the high is 95. Thanks for carrying a wide width. Yabba Dabba Doo to Chaco and Zappos.

The Most Amazing Outdoor Shoe - I just got my first pair of Chaco’s, and I already adore them. They are so comfy! I wear them everywhere...to the pool, at the creek, even while hiking--they are perfect! P.S. - For anyone who complained that they don't fit right, READ THE BOX! It has all the instructions you need. If you still don't get it, go to a local outdoor sports store-- someone there will know how to adjust the straps.

So glad I read all the reviews - thanks for the info about the toe strap. I did start them out as loose as possible & then adjusted them bit by bit & now they are perfect. Zappos has made it difficult to even browse through any other shoe dept. or store... I even got a personalized thank you from the rep I spoke with over the phone - I mentioned I was buying these for walking my dogs and she sent me "have fun walking your dogs - dogs rule!" Too cool!

Chaco's - Love these and wear them all summer dressed up or down. They really go with anything and work for any event from work to hiking. This is my second pair - I wore my first for two summers before handing them down to my sister.

An excellent all-around sandal - The Z2, desert rose, sandal handled 12 days of walking the cobblestone streets of the hill towns of the Umbria region of Italy. No slipping, excellent grip. No tripping. No blisters or discomfort. Excellent support. The adjustable strap allowed for space where I needed it, around the bunions at the base of my big toes and also kept the sole of the sandal snug to the bottom of my foot, much like a "second skin", but without any discomfort. Goes well with shorts, skirts and slacks. Normally wear a size 8 in a sandal, but found that the Zappos method of measuring for size indicated a size 7. Tried both sizes and the size 7 fit perfectly. After walking all day in the heat, had normal feet odor from sweating, but the sandal didn't pick up the odor. Just wiped them with a moist cloth and they were ready for another day. This is an excellent all-around sandal.

Great shoe - Love the arch in this shoe; lots of support. Not crazy about the over-the -toe strap as I can't seem to adjust them for a super comfy all day fit. My other shoes are Birki’s and Keens.

These are great for walking anywhere. Supportive and tough for the city or the country. My feet tend to pronate and the way the heel and the arch fit are great. Also they are made in USA!

Comfy - I love these shoes. I have high arches walk on the outsides of my feet, which seemed to be causing knee pain. My new Chacos force me to walk correctly. It felt a little weird at first, but my knees have stopped hurting. The only thing I would change would be to add a little more cushion to the heel. The Z/2's are a cute but rugged shoe, and they even make my huge feet look smaller.

Chaco review - The only problem I have is that the straps have a tendency to slip a little while walking.

Crunchy looking, but nothing beats them! The pros are: very adjustable, last a long time, simplistic, supportive. The cons are: takes a while to get them adjusted right, clunky looking, takes a while to get used to the support. The patterned foot bed actually really irritated the soles of my feet the first time I wore them out, but I've since gotten used to it. I agree with other reviewers that it helps to adjust them "too loose" around the toe to get the right fit. I fractured my 3rd metatarsal last year and since then can only wear a select few brands of shoes without it causing pain and these I can wear all day long with no pain! They are pretty crunchy looking, but the toe strap at least makes them less "ducky" than the non toe strap versions.

Nice walking shoe - I like the sandal and it has great arch support; however, it takes a while to get used to adjusting the straps. At times, even after adjusting the straps they seem to move (inch) and I found my big toes getting strangled. Throughout wearing these shoes I would have to bend down and pull the strap around my toes to relieve strangulation. If this did not happen this shoe would be perfect. The sole is very comfortable and great for wide feet. I'm willing to work with these shoes. Overall there comfortable and maybe I just have to figure out the right strap arrangement. Give them a try everyone’s feet are different.

Problem solved! The arch support was great, the width was great (thank goodness they came in wide), the adjustability of the straps was great, but the toe straps pulled so tight while I wore them around my house to try them out, my big toes felt like they were being squeezed off. I sent an email to Chaco asking what I could do about it, and here's the response I received (with a few minor edits): "A few customers have had this similar toe tightening problem since we started treating our webbing with nik wax, which keeps the straps from sticking to the sole and foot bed during the combining process, making the straps slip easier. "We found that applying Simple Green, which is a household degreaser that you can purchase at the local grocery store, will remove the nik wax. Pull the straps to get them out of adjustment, apply the Simple Green to the straps, rub it in, let them sit for about 15 minutes, then toss them in the washing machine and let them air dry while the straps are still out of adjustment. After the straps are totally dry, adjust them loosely to your feet and the problem is solved. "One other observation we found was that some people have tightened the straps too tight to begin with, then any movement of your feet moves the straps and gives the choking effect." I followed the directions, and the problem was indeed solved. It may seem like a lot of trouble, but having sandals that felt good to my difficult-to-fit feet was worth it. Thank you, Chaco! A footnote (pardon the pun): The heel straps seemed a bit loose, so I asked Chaco what I could do about that, too. I was told that they will shorten the heel straps at no cost (other than paying for the postage to send the sandals to Chaco - they'll pay the return postage). However, I was also told that the heel straps are supposed to be loose enough to fit a finger in between them and the heel, which is about how they are now. I'll see how that works out before I decide to have them shortened.
