Heidi review - This is a great sandal; however, I wish I had ordered a half size smaller. I have several other Mephisto shoes, always take a size 38, but size 38 in this sandal is definitely too big. I should have returned them, but now it is too late because I have worn them outside. Sigh.

Heidi Review - I bought these shoes, because of great reviews from previous buyers...They are not attractive sandals, I knew this, however comfort and durability is what I was looking for...After several weeks wearing, they are now becoming very comfortable...and I am very happy with the service Zappos has provided...Excellent customer service...

Rating - It took about a week to get used to the shoes. They were extremely painful during that period of time. After the first week they became more comfortable, but still hurt after wearing them for long periods of time. I was under the impression that these were the most comfortable walking shoes and am quite disappointed.

Mephisto Heidi - I had such high expectations when I ordered this sandal. In the photo, it appears so very stylish and comfortable. However, when I received them and tried them on, I was so disappointed. They immediately felt odd on my feet. The footbed is much harder than I had anticipated, and the very high arch pushed my foot off to the side. They also didn't look very nice on my feet. They show way too much toe -looks geeky. The Birkenstock Arizona Soft Footbed sandal is much more comfortable and attractive.

I've had 5 or 6 pair of this Mephisto sandal, sadly they recently changed the footbed and it is not the same. But, they are discontinuing the style anyway. The last pair I bought had a "cushy" footbed, rather than the original. So, be warned, if you are buying these thinking they are like old ones you may have, they are not. I've been trying to find a Birkenstock to replace the Heidi, but so far no luck.

I have several pairs of Heidi in various stages of wear. I rarely wear any other sandals any more because these are by far the most comfortable and I am spoiled. I always make sure there is a new pair in my closet just in case these ever get discontinued -- but I suspect they will always be available. They are so supportive and comfortable. The Helen is good too, and prettier, but the Heidi is just so much more comfortable. I use them for both long walks, and for slippers. The only thing I don't like about all mephisto sandals is that the footbed turns dark in pretty short order and the shoes look pretty rough even though there is still a lot of tread and life in them. So I use the grotty ones around the house, and the newer ones for more social occasions. I wish I could wear them year round. I may have to move!

I just received my first pair of Mephisto Heidi sandals and I just love them! I know my footwear and I have bought many shoes and sandals in the past and they felt so-so, but I feel these sandals are of the highest quality. They feel very supportive and very comfortable. I would recommend this brand to my best of friends or to my dear sisters. They feel as if a podiatrist made them correctly for my feet. I think they are the world's finest brand of footwear. And I also have medical problems that call for the best of footwear; I have a pinched nerve with 6 bulging discs of my spinal column. These sandals are stylish as well. Thank you also to Zappos for the good service too.

I purchased my mephisto heidi's just before Christmas. I traveled to Missoula Mt and did a lot of walking. They are the best samdals. I have over the years have had different brands but Mephisto is by far the best.

This is my 12th pair of Heidi sandals in about 10 years. Many different colors. I wear them all year long (yes, sometimes with socks!). They are very comfortable, conform to your foot so that the arch support is perfect, and you can have the suede footbed replaced when they start to stink (which they all eventually will, there's no way to stop that). The upper & sole will last for years, so relining them is a good way to economize. They look so much nicer (slimmer) than the Brickenstocks. This is a quality shoe. I think they're typically true to size, but you want to make sure the toes & heel fit properly for you. Don't try to "make do" with a 1/2 size too small, because your heel must fit into the "cup" that is created when the cork conforms to your foot. Also, don't make the straps too tight, once the footbed conforms to your foot, the shoe is much more comfortable a little loose.

Have these in both the tan grain and the black leather. The tan are extremely comfortable. The black, somewhat less so as the leather is stiffer. I also have the Helen in several colors. I think the Heidi is much more comfortable and protects your foot better for walking or trips to the supermarket (people are not always careful about where they wheel their carts). The Helen look better and are dressier so I wear them for "special" occasions. I have to wear a lift in one shoe only to correct shorter leg resulting from slight scoliosis. Shoemaker was able to insert a 3/8 inch tapered wedge into the sole of one sandal, both Helen and Heidi. It is apparent if you look but not very noticeable or in your face. These are the only sandals I have found that I can modify in this way and consequently the only ones I now own. Also, I have very narrow feet and they work well for me. Highly recommend the Heidi if you care more about comfort than looks. They look like you care more about comfort than looks. May-be not a bad thing.

I've worn Mephistos for a long time. Just received the Heidi -- super fast shipping -- which I have worn for years. Same great fit and legendary Mephisto quality. My only comment is that the inside of the leather on the straps is extremely scratchy. Usually they are uber-soft right out of the box so this is quite surprising. Hoping it will soften up!

What a great sandal. I have been a fan of Birks for twenty years and these are my first pair of Mephistos. I love them, they are incredibly comfortable and at the same time, support my foot. Definitely recommend.

I love these sandals. They are very comfortable and nice looking too! They also have great arch support, so perfect for long walks.

This is the first time I've worn Mephisto sandals. I will never go back to Birkenstock. The fit is better (but they do run a bit small, so order accordingly), the heel cup is great for those with plantar fasciitis. You won't be disappointed!

Very nice shoes with excellent arch support. Wish I could keep them but the left foot just fits and my right (1/2 size longer) is falling over the top. Sigh. Wish this came 1/2 size larger. True to size with no room to spare.

Wonderful shoe, awesome Zappos - Zappos is awesome! I ordered this shoe one day and received it the next! What service!! The shoe is wonderful and well worth the money. This is the third or fourth pair I've owned. I love that I can add holes to the straps to adjust to my very narrow feet.

Most comfortable sandals ever! This is my 5th pair. I have narrow feet so I have an extra set of holes punched but otherwise these are the perfect sandal for me. Mephisto Heidi is comfortable when nothing else feels good. I buy a 41 even though I normally wear a 9 1/2 N.

Evaluation of Mephisto's Heidi Sandal - The sandals are absolutely gorgeous! I bought five pairs of different types of Mephisto sandals within one month. I will always buy again from Zappos because I like the quick delivery and if a customer is not satisfied with a product, Zappos is very quick with sending customer a return label for returning the shoes.

I was looking for a shoe that would help support my feet during pregnancy. I tried the Birkenstocks, but the support was in the wrong places for my feet. I was told to try Mephisto and found them to be perfect. It's like a constant foot massage when I wear them.

Mephisto Heidi - I use Mephisto Heidi as my house shoes for the last ten years. I have flat feet and wear orthotics in my regular shoes. Mephisto Heidi has an excellent arch support and is very comfortable. I hope Mephisto makes them forever; I just keep replacing the worn ones with the new.

Another great pair of Mephistos! This is my second pair of this style. I wore the first pair in black for 6-7 years. I have 8 pairs of Mephistos, love all of them. There is nothing better if you have back problems. I like this style because I can wear them with socks in the house during winter. Very confortable on tile floors. Excellent arch support. The best shoes for travel. I also love shopping at Zappos because they are so good about returns and exchanges. I have a difficult foot to fit, 9 1/2 narrow and sometimes it takes several tries to get the right one.

Wearing Mephisto Sandals - I am very pleased with my recent purchase of another Mephisto sandal. This one called Heidi. The fit was right and the style quite all round in that they can be worn with or without socks. This is possible because of the adjustable straps. I have other Mephisto styles and find the fit very comfortable because of how they conform to my feet with use.

My second pair - I wore my first pair out, as I wore them a lot because they felt so good. I tried some other brands, but nothing fit like the Mephisto's. I'm glad they're still available. I'd give them 6 stars for comfort.
