This is my third pair of Mephisto Heidi shoes. I wasn't familiar with the brand when I bought them, but I doubt there will ever be another shoe, for me, that is as comfortable or well constructed. They last forever and look good even as they age. Isn't that what we all wish for ourselves too? I do a lot of walking and unless I'm hiking, I usually wear my Mephistos. Now that I'm living in the Pacific Northwest and have all seasons, I still wear them, with socks, until the snow falls. Five stars from me.

I found this shoe before I had surgery for a deteriorating ankle. While I used a lower-ankle brace for some time, I could use this sandal for brief times, as I found it was the same footbed as my orthotic. I wore a pair out and was not told when I purchased them that the cork needed to be sealed. I decided to replace them through you and have them sealed. They are the only sandal I can wear for brief times in the summer.

Heidi - I have worn these shoes for ten years due to a severe arch issue. They have been the only shoe that I have been able to wear that gives the needed support following surgery that was required due to injury. I would be in a fit of panic if I could not find these shoes. Zappos was located only recently by me and I am completely satisfied with their service and price. Just a great shoe in summer, bare footed or with socks during winter months.

The Heidi is comfortable and looks good. The brand speaks for itself. I have one pair at each house for winter in AZ and summer on the Cape.

The most comfortable sandal ever - This is my third pair of Heidis - there is no finer or better fitting sandals. I've worn them as a tourist and walked miles and miles. I wear them in the house when doing chores on my feet. They have a very high arch support. There is no break-in time. They are comfortable the minute they are put on, unlike another brand name.

Another Happy Customer!! I had foot surgery 4 months ago and because of swelling cannot wear most of my shoes. The Heidi is perfect - comfortable, great support, and the fact that I can adjust the straps when my foot swells is great! I wear 8 to 81/2 and the 38 is a perfect fit. Glad I did not order a size larger as advised. Zappos has the greatest brands and even greater service. Thanks.

Mephisto Pleasure - I'm truly enjoying my Mephisto Heidi for the summer. They are very comfortable and I wear them everywhere. They're just what the dr. ordered. Thanks for your great service. I was able to wear them quite soon after I ordered them.

Fantastic shoe with a bit of a heel - I bought a pair of these a while ago for a trip to Walt Disney World in August (what were we thinking?) Figured I wouldn't be able to handle walking around in the heat in my closed toe Mephistos. These shoes are terrific. I have plantar fasciitis, a wide toe box, and tend to pronate (twist my ankle out-wards). I like the leather ones because placing the perfect hole is easy. I found that I had to continually punch a new hole, and artfully trim the straps as the leather stretched, and stretched, and stretched. Maybe because I wore them in the humidity of FL, and then Seattle? I'm ready to replace the sole and maybe the cork bed and it would be worth it because I love these shoes so much.

Review of "Heidi" by Mephisto - Everything about this shoe is PERFECT!! It fits true to size, has arch support in the right place, is comfortable and as a result I don't suffer from plantar faciitis and arthritis pains. I wore this shoe only when I toured Ireland and England for 11 days, walking everywhere on gray rocks!

Recent purchase - The Mephestos are excellent as always, but the best part was the outstanding service from Zappos. I accidently ordered the wrong US size and needed the correct size in 5 days for a trip. I called and explained my situation. Zappos had a replacement pair to me in 3 days, and I didn't have to pay for the return or new delivery. WOW. What a company. I've never experienced one like it. I have found my online shoe store. Thank you.

Mephisto Heidi - This is the shoe Birkenstock tries to be. Mephisto Heidi offers more support, more comfort. A great shoe. I can't live without Mephisto.

Heavenly Heidi's - I LOVE mephisto's...especially the Heidi, as you can adjust the straps to be a PERFECT fit for you. I have a narrow foot and cannot wear Birkies but the Mephisto's fit like a GLOVE. They are expensive but worth every penny !!! Also, as a side note. Zappo's is GREAT. FASTEST service and WONDERFUL communications !!! Will definitly use for ALL my future purchases !!!!

All Time Favorite - The only sadness I have over this particular style is that I am unable to locate a black pair in a size 35. I actually had a pair for over 10yrs and have had to retire them! I hope that tells you how much I have enjoyed the Mephisto Heidi. Kathy. Brighton, Michigan

Great shoe! Great shoe - I have a somewhat narrow foot and this shoe fits better than the Birkenstock Arizona.

After buying these shoes I am convinced I no longer want to wear any other brand to kick around in. I tried the birks, and a couple other types that claim to be comfortable but to me were not, and they were so great about taking them back. I bought these and a couple other pair of mephisto sandals and I highly recommend them if you want a truly comfortable shoe. They are like heaven. They seem just a little bit narrow at first, but they break in easily and quickly with no pain! I don't know why everyone raves about birkenstocks when this is the true comfort shoe.

Almost, but not quite... Because the shoe seems a bit long, the arch support is not quite in the right place for my feet. I also like better a 3 strap style I owned earlier; it feels more secure on my feet. The sole is somewhat less flexible that I would prefer. Overall the shoe still beats any Birkenstock I ever tried on.

Heidi is for narrow feet - The quality of Mephistos is unsurpassed, but the women's shoe is definitely not for women with wide or possibly even average feet. I ended up giving the shoes to my daughter who has very narrow feet and they fit her perfectly. I will be ordering another pair in a men's size for myself, hoping they'll be wider. They're great sandals and the old pair I've been wearing for years are wonderful and still in good shape.

More colors please! Mephisto if you're reading, please offer Heidi in more colors! How about dark brown waxy? Heidi is as comfortable as all the reviews below attest. Helen is a prettier sandal (have these too!) but Heidi offers a bit more support and protection. My feet are so spoiled I can't wear anything but Helen, Heidi, and Mephisto walking and hiking shoes. I'm usually a size 8 but in these I take a 9 / 39.

Mephisto Heidi - I am very pleased with the Heidi shoes. I have a very large bunion on the right foot which makes finding a comfortable shoe difficult. This shoe was very comfortable very quickly because of the softness of the leather and the adjustable straps. The straps are well placed and I do not step out of the shoe when walking and there is no rubbing. It has excellent arch support which was what I was looking for.

MEPHISTOS ROCK!! OWN 7 PAIRS OF MEPHISTO! Bought my 1st Mephistos in France. Changed my life! Are more comfortable than all the athletic shoes I'd ever owned. Told Mephisto only uses real rubber on the sole. I have owned two Heidi's...one nubuck and one leather. Like the leather better because it keeps it shape, doesn't look dirty. I can have a shoemaker put holes in these straps to fit my foot exactly which works for wide or narrow feet. My foot is medium to narrow with no arch & the support in the arch is great on these shoes and most Mephistos! I have the heel problem (plantar fasciitis) so the lift in the heel keeps that from being a problem. Mephisto Rush is a great pair where one can insert orthodics. I always where a 9 1/2 shoe but I always wear a 10 in Mephistos (40 EU). My foot is usually too narrow for 10's in other shoes. These shoes can be worn everywhere without pain and if you have pain put these shoes on and the pain will go away! Mephistos are the best SHOES and ZAPPOS has the GREATEST SERVICE WITH THE HUGEST SELECTION OF MEPHISTOS!

Mephisto - Heidi - I have owned this shoe for more than 18-years. It fits great and lasts a very long time; therefor on my 3rd pair. I wear a wide shoe and this fits perfectly. Prior to foot surgery, my doctor said this would be the perfect shoe to wear afterwards. Goodby Birkenstocks!

Even better than slippers! I love these shoes and I want them in at least eight different colors! I find myself putting these on at night instead of my slippers because they are even more comfortable. I have a tumor in one foot and arthritus in both feet and these are the only shoe that I can wear. They are wonderful.

Best shoe ever - I have owned and worn this shoe for 16 years and I am just now looking to have it repaired. This is a great shoe.

Comfortable - I wear these year round. They are so comfortable, I can walk everywhere in them.
