Freezer Burn - My son in law works in Publix's freezer all night. It's normally 30 to 40 below zero. He would come home with freezer burns on his toes and shins. These boots were a miracle, warm feet and no more freezer burns. What more can you say about something!

Young boy big feet - My son is 11 yrs old, 6 ft 8 in tall & wears size 17 extra wide shoe. He has a rare overgrowth syndrome. (The only one in the world in fact.) This is the only place I've been able to find brand name shoes for him- we've purchased at least 3 or 4 pair now. Thank you so much for offering what we need & making just one part of his life easy!

Sorel boots - The boots are for my son (hard to find a size 13 or 14 anywhere). They will meet his needs very well on our trip away. I have a pair Sorels of my own that I purchased several years ago and they still wear well with good support and are very warm. I appreciated the free shipping to and from when I ordered the wrong size and the timely manner in which the transaction from start to finish was completed. Sorel Bears, the ultimate Snow Monsters- I bought a pair of Sorel Bears for my son, who is somewhat of a bear himself, wearing a size 15 shoe, and was initially attracted to them because they came in his size. He says they are comfortable and warm, so they will serve him well in the heavy snow we get in my area. The only drawback I can state is that he was of the opinion that snow boots are not an acceptable Christmas present... ah, well... I'm sure he'll get over it... :)

After a couple of years of using L.L. Bean boots for the snow, I needed something warmer, taller, and easier to put on and take off. The Bears fit the bill in every way, also very grippy on ice and snow. Make no mistake, these boots are big and clumpy, but for shoveling, going to the wood pile, walking the dog, they can't be beat.

I bought these for my size 14 husband because we had tons of snow and he loves them but.....he says they are a bit slick on his tile floors at work so be cautious.

Great boots - After buying many boots this is the first pair that my feet do not get cold even with a regular pair of socks on....... I use them on the ranch and snowshoeing all around great pair of winter boots

Good boots - These boots are great for getting around in the snow with no chance of the snow going down your leg! I tried a 14 and they were too tight, a 15 is big and there are no middle sizes after 13.... a matter of too tight or too loose but a good boot for the price, very warm.

Nice Buy - I don't buy boots on line because they may not fit. This pair of boots fit perfectly. My pair of Sorel "Conquest" fit good after I got my heel in the boot, this pair fit with no struggle. I was not sure that the "Bear" would have the same problem. I was pleasantly surprised; these will probably be a boot that I would buy again. Overall the "Bear" has the look, the fit, the comfort that I need to stand at my job for 8 to 10 hours at a time in some very cold weather. I would recommend these boots to anyone who needs a boot that looks, feels, and fits as good as these do.

Nice boot for Minnesota - I had an old pair of Sorel's that lasted almost 20 years. I thought it was probably time to get something new, not because they weren't still good, but because they didn't feel as comfortable. I was originally looking at the Glacier boot, but went with the Bear instead. It's got a good weight, nice grip, and easy to get in and out of.

These shoes are super warm but they are HUGE. Although they were technically the right size, they just looked so massive on my husband that we had to return them.

Boots for my husband - We wish they sold half sizes. My husband wears a 10.5 and from the reviews went with a 10. Once he actually gets them on, they don't hurt and are comfortable but getting them on and off is the problem. He was hoping for something that would slip on and off a bit easier. Every time he tries to take his feet out, the inserts insist on coming out with them. Then it is a pain to get the inserts back in. Is that just how they are, or would a larger size had been better? Just not happy and bummed we took the tags off, now we can't return!

Disappointed. Twice. Really like the Sorel Bear for its easy on and off and its warmth, but this is my second pair and now I need another pair; they last just 1 season in the snow. Both pair developed cracks in the rubber just aft of the big toe area, that's 4 Sorel Bears with cracks in them and that happens after warranty runs out, of course. Sorel won't do anything about it, so I'm done with Sorel.

Mis-sized - Sorry but when I read the reviews on this boot prior to purchase it said that they ran true to size. They are at least one size larger than I normally wear even with thick ski socks.

These Boots are stylish, warm and true to fit. However, after less than 'TWO MONTHS' of every other day use, they started taking on water fairly quickly during warm day ice fishing excursions when the surface snow is slushy. After only 'ONE MONTH' they showed signs of cracks in the vulcanized rubber shell. Sorel says they will honor their one year warranty at my cost of shipping. This experience has me thinking twice about Sorel quality. The 'Bear' has bitten me. Don't let the 'Bear' bite you too.

I've worn these for two months now and tested them on a 3-day hike through New Hampshire's White Mountain Park in January (and during pouring icey rain!). They are definitively warm and very very waterproof. They are comfortable over long periods of time. I would like to mention that I disagree with some of the other reviews here that say they run wide and large. They seem to run exact to size to me. If you have wide feet, are in between sizes, or plan on wearing thick socks in them you should round up on your size. My only negative comment is that the string which cinches the top of the boot shut is a weak elastic bungee. I expect this is going to be the first thing to wear out. I remember Sorel used to just use a shoe string system on the top. Sure the elastic is easier to use, but Id rather the confidence of something more durable.

Needed a good warm outdoor boot that can fit my snow shoes. The Sorel Bear was a good choice. The weather in upstate New York can get very cold and the snow very deep. The Sorel Bear was what I needed. Thanks Zappos for being so fast - the boots arrived the next day and I was ready to go.

I love these for snow activities. My last pair lasted 10 years.I'm size 9-9.5 9's fit good with regular socks; too tight with thicker socks. Size 10 a little loose with out thicker socks. If I'm out a long time I like thicker socks.

Very warm, very comfortable. Had a pair of these growing up and knew they were the boot to buy again.

I find that the Sorel Bear is a bit difficult to put on as the top of the gaiter is too small. I have trouble tucking in my pant leg. It is impossible to remove this boot without pulling the liner off too. I bought these boots to replace a worn out pair of Sorels that resemble these but are green in color and have 2 removable insoles in the boot and a removable insole in the liner. They are much easier to put on and take off. They were rated at -40 when I bought them about 18 years ago and the Bear is rated at -60. I believe my old boots are warmer.

Got a pair of Sorel boots for Christmas two years ago, and was thrilled. They got me through the winter fine. Just a few weeks into the following season, cracks started appearing in the rubber where they bend at the toes. I contacted Sorel, but the warranty had just expired. They said I could send them in at my cost, but unless the cracks were due to a manufacturing defect, they would not fix the boots. I only had used them for about three months - one season! And they were expensive.
