I really want to love these shoes. They are super cute. I got one pair and they were a little tight but after two weeks fit perfectly, but then the top scuffed off on the toes! Zappos sent me a replacement pair and I packed up the perfect fitting ones and sent them off. The new pair is the same size and has not stretched out nearly as much after a few weeks. I wish the sizing was more consistent. But, they sure are cute! My last pair of Danskos lasted 6 years and I had hoped to get that with these, but we will see. I might end up taking them to a cobbler to see if they can stretch them for me.

This is the 2nd pair of Danskos I've tried - they just don't work for my feet (size 11). My toes rub against the toe box and when I walk the back flips off my heel. They are really cute though!

This shoe is very durable and comfortable. Love the black patent, pretty stylish for a casual shoe. My last pair held up for 8 years before the staples started to come out along the sole, and I probably could have had them repaired to last much longer. Living in San Diego, I only wear these shoes 3 months out of the year. When I ordered this replacement pair, immediately the right shoe felt much smaller all around than the left. The shoes are marked the same size and I don't have different sized feet. I think it's a QC issue at the factory? After wearing for a few weeks it is tolerable, but still uncomfortable across the top. I hope by the end of winter here they will be stretched out enough that I will want to wear this pair again for many, many years. I should have returned them right away, but I was anxious for a new pair right away, after the staples came out of my old pair one day in January.

I own several pairs of Dansko Professionals (black box, white box, brown cabrio, and two others) and for some reason the black patent ones fit much differently. They are at least a half size larger. I have tried on a few in my regular size 37, and they all fit large. I ordered a size down, and they were too small. I am returning them and going to try the new professional XP ones hoping the added cushion inside makes up for the size difference.

I wear a woman's 8, so I ordered a size 39. That fits fine if I wear socks with the shoe. I wear a uniform for work and I wear compression hosiery. I had to order a 39 narrow to accomodate hosiery. Otherwise, the shoe would be too loose on my foot. I am still trying to get used to the semi-loose fit that is normal for a Dansko, but overall I like the shoe. My feet and back don't hurt after a 13-hour work day. The shoes are heavy and kind of ugly, but my feet are happy.

Love these shoes, but I had to put an insole in them to keep them on my feet because they seem really wide, even though I bought a narrow. I work in a dental office and wear scrubs, and I think these shoes are a definite style "upgrade" from the white running shoes I used to wear.

This shoe was great for my plantar fasciitis but the shoe is too tight across the top of my foot. I walked around the house for two days in the shoe but it put so much pressure on the top of my foot that my foot was numb and tingling when I took them off. I'm sending them back.

I purchased the Dansko Professional in the brown oiled leather because I saw them on my hairstylist and she raved about how comfortable they were. They aren't the most fashion forward shoe, but they appeal to my hippy dippy side. When I'm feeling extra crunchy granola I like to wear clogs with rolled up boyfriend jeans. This is my first pair of Dansko clogs. I have two pairs of Sanitas in a size 38,so I ordered these in a 38 as well. I am a true size 8 in most shoes. Upon trying on the Danskos, I noticed that they fit correctly in that they were long enough with the correct amount of heel slippage. However, they were very tight across the top of my foot. After the first day of wearing them, my feet were practically bruised. It was another week before I tried wearing them again. I walked around the house in them while wearing athletic socks - pretty sight - to stretch them out. I then contacted the wonderful people at Zappos to let them know about my concerns and the rep told me that going a size up would probably not remedy the tightness across the top of my feet, but offered to send me a 39 if I wanted. I decided to stick it out and after wearing my clogs a few more times they are now perfect! So, there you have it! Keep up the good work, Zappos!

As for the people that have said these shoes feel tight, it clearly says in the "item information" section that you may want to order half a size larger, as well as your heel should lift up and down with each step. If ordered correctly, the shoes will not be too tight. Many people that I have worked with ordered their true size and they felt tight. I am a true US 9, but I order size 40 (US 9½-10) and they fit great. Also, the rule of thumb for these shoes is to give yourself three months to break them in. Three months may seem like a long time when you are on your feet (especially a 12 hour shift like myself) but the more you wear these shoes, the more the shoes will form to your feet. They are well built and durable, I have had mine for almost two years and they still look new. Especially for working as a nurse (or many other professions, I would imagine) they are super easy to clean, unlike a pair of tennis shoes. I highly recommend you only get these shoes if you are willing to be patient and break them in. And luckily, Zappos is awesome in the fact that if they do feel too small/big, you can send them back at no charge and get a bigger/smaller size.

These shoes are hand-made so it is really hard to get the right fit on-line. I have tried a 39 which fit and a 40 which fit and some run too small and some run too big. I feel like Goldilocks trying to find the perfect fit. But, once you get the right size, these are the most versatile shoes ever. They are sturdy, look great with skirts, jeans or slacks. I can wear these with anything and if I am going to be out all day I want a nice durable pair of shoes that will last. My last pair of Danskos I wore non-stop for 8 years. I still wear them, they are still great, but I wanted an updated pair. I love this new style. It dresses up jeans and have a funky flair.

Beautiful shoe, great support. Leather is very firm and will not give. Keep this in mind if you have bunion, arthritis issues. However, I expect them to last for years! I wear size 8/39 and know from trying on 38 in store that Dansko 71/2-8 sizing will be short. The 39 is meant to be 81/2-9. It's true to their sizing, but not to most Euro-sized shoes.

Not narrow enough. It could be because these are unisex shoes but they are not narrow enough for my AA narrow feet. I returned them and just received the Sanita Womens narrow clog. Which are narrower. Not sure if they will work yet but they are more likely to than the Danskos.

Love the Dansko professional shoes. This is my 4th pair. The only thing I would say that is a little different about the tooled version, is the leather is a little more stiff than other types I have ordered. Just mean they feel a little more snug and will need to be broken in a little bit.

If you have a high instep this is not the shoe for you. It seems comfortable, however. So, if your feet are thin on top, you have no problem.

In November I purchased a pair of shoes from the Zappos web site. I used PayPal and someone got my credit card number and all my personal information. Not sure which one to fault but I will never use PayPal or Zappos again.

I just purchased these shoes for my daughter, she is a nurse, on her feet all day. She loves these shoes but this year need to return them one shoe was defected much larger than the other one even though they were the same size. Will return and reorder, hope this pair will be fine.

Strangely, this shoe did not grip my heel at all. It flopped up and down on my heel like a flip-flop slipper... It was like it was sized wrong. So what I experienced what not at all similar to the other reviews. I am sending them back and ordering a full size smaller. Oh, the oiled brown is lovely. I just hope ordering a smaller size fixes the problem.

These shoes are great for everything from work to everyday activities. I have the Professional in 3 colors. My feet never hurt at the end of the day.

A good solid shoe. I bought these for work. I'm on my feet all day and I wanted a sturdy, comfortable shoe. My feet are different from each other,and the arch support on the left shoe is inadaquate, while the right shoe is fine.

These are beautiful shoes! They are stiff as a board and pretty clunky. Be sure to buy the next size up. Everyone will complement you on the look though.

Read all the reviews and see all my fellow healthcare practitioners rave about their comfort. I have very high arches and these shoes press on the top of my foot, making them very uncomfortable even with thin socks. So if you have high arches like I do I would not recommend them.

I really like these shoes. They are very stylish and nice and wide. I appreciate a wide shoe that I don't have to break in first. The only thing I dont like about these shoes is that if I'm on my feet all day, these feel hard after a few hours. I normally wear a very flat sneaker that flexes easily and that's what is comfortable for my feet. But I wanted something a bit dressy for occasional use.

I've been wearing these shoes for over a decade, and my second pair had worn down to the point of needing replacement. I ordered the exact same kind as I'd had before -- size 38, normal width, same finish -- but this time, they feel just a bit narrower than before. I don't recall having to break in previous pairs, but on this pair, the left shoe rubs the bone outside my pinkie toe where my foot is widest in a painful way. I need to take a hair dryer and a pair of wool socks to them to try to speed up the break-in time, but I'm confused. I never used to get the wide width; did something change? I don't think it was my feet.

I really wanted to like these! I love comfy shoes, I didn't care that these were clunky and was thrilled by all the positive reviews. But they just didn't feel that great. They are very stiff, and actually hurt the top of my foot. The soles are not cushioned at all. Maybe I got the wrong size; I normally wear a 9.5 so I ordered a 40; the length seemed fine, but the top was just not comfortable. I've never worn a wide but maybe I should try that. I may give it another shot at a shoe store where I can try out various sizes.
