Just like when I was 15 (1984) - although these are much more conservative, navy blue and black checkers. They are great. Zappos sends them out fast, too.

A great shoe but then of course it's Vans and all Vans are great. Thought it was just a black checker board but really it's a lot more than that and could be considered a somewhat fancy classic slip-on. The shoe has a nice light shine to it which makes it really different and cool. It's a total must have for all Vans lovers.

I've owned a pair of these for a couple years maybe, and they're the best shoes I've ever had. I used to love Chuck Taylors, but found that they wear out and tear too quickly. I tried a pair of slip-ons, and they work just great. I did have an issue with the heel at first, but I'm told a great way to break it in is to put them in a plastic bag and run them over with a car a few times. They look great, are easy to put on, and feel as comfortable as your favorite t-shirt. Highly recommended!

I had been looking forever for casual black shoes that I could wear with skinny jeans when I finally came across these. I wanted shoes that I could wear with socks, which is just sadly not the case with most of the cute flats made specifically for women. I was still uncertain about these when I ordered them, because I thought they might look too manly, but they actually look great! I can wear them with almost anything, and they look ever so slightly more grown-up than Chuck Taylors. And they're sooo comfortable.

I purchased these for my son. He loves the style and has purchased others in different colors. He wasn't as happy with this color - felt it was too bright - but kept them. Nice company to work with and quick shipping too.

These shoes run half a size smaller than my normal shoe size. They are very comfortable, light and durable. Very stylish shoes. Great price for a great shoe. I would definitely recommend this shoe to others.

My son has bony heels and a high arch. Vans are flat but so cushy they work for him. My son refuses to wear a shoe that doesn't give him plenty of wiggle room, Vans will stretch out so they work great for kids who like a lot of room in their shoes. They wear out quickly though.

1st, who doesn't want a pair of Vans checkerboard slip-on's! 2nd, the shoe was a little stiff at 1st and took a little breaking in just like any shoe. I have wide feet and these are perfect. Easy on and off. Love Vans.

Get a new pair every spring. Just can’t beat the comfort and style of slip-on Vans.

Even though this shoe was a B width, it was sloppy loose. It had moderate to low arch support. The shoe practically fell off my foot!

I love slip ons and these are great because they go with pretty much anything. They are white though so be prepared because they will get dingy fast. Just adds to their character.

Very comfortable. They run slightly large. I had to return and get a smaller size (but Zappos made it ridiculously easy).

The shoe looks great on my boyfriend! His feet a little wide so he has to take some time to stretch these shoes out, but this isn't his first pair of slip-ons so he knew what to expect. I think they are a great shoe that can be dressed up if you are going downtown or casual when you are at school.

These shoes are comfortable for casual wear. They have a nice, durable sole and a surprising amount of cushion for such a low-profile shoe. After wearing them for several weeks I have no complaints. I do need to wear thicker socks with these shoes to keep them from making squeaking noises when I walk.

Classic shoe. Simple, yet solid construction. Well-made and comfortable. What more can I say. I have been wearing this style and basically this same shoe for over 30 years. As my Great Uncle Nussbaum used to say, don't mess with a hit.

These are awesome casual shoes. It took me a little while to get used to them. They were pretty different from my other shoes.

This is a great shoe! It was my first ever slip-on shoe and I love it. It's well made, looks great, and is comfortable. However, if you have a low arch, you might want to get some other insoles. There is no arch support. But I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Zappos is amazing! A week before Christmas, I finally found the shoes that my son wanted on Zappos website. They had an arrive before Christmas guarantee so I ordered the shoes Saturday night and by Tuesday, they were here and the shipping was free. I was blown away...all of the statements made on the website were absolutely true. How rare in this day and age. I will most definitely do business with them again and recommend them to all my friends.

Bought them for my 12 year old son and he loves them, now he does not want to wear anything else. He says they are very comfortable and very easy to put on and off.

While these shoes are super stylish, I don't think they are worth the price. I bought the mismatching red/black/white plaid shoes when they were available. They broke down pretty quickly, and everyone knows about the god awful "Vans slip-on stench" that happens about a year later. Socks or not, the stench is inevitable. Never pay over $30 for a pair of Vans off the wall slip-ons. There are much more quality comfortable shoes that last longer and are less smelly.

I bought these shoes for my 14 year old daughter, and she loves them! They do run a little small. We had to exchange the original size we bought for half a size bigger so that she could easily slip them on. Zappos was excellent (as always) in making the exchange!
