Great shoe. The black canvas runs smaller and truer to size than the original black and white suede. Usually wear a 15 in the original sk8-hi's and had to send the black canvas back for 14s.

These shoes look better than the pictures -- my granddaughter LOVES them. The size was true to size but it was nice to know I could easily return them if they didn't fit. The shipping was FAST and free. I LOVE ZAPPOS!

These are the best shoes ever. This is pair number four. This is my first time in red. Oh so red!

I received my black SK8 Hi Hemp with white sole pretty quickly which I was stoked on. They do feel half a size larger, and I would return them for half a size down, only I was exited to skate in them and well, there you go. They should work fine, though. They came with two sets of white laces, a super thin stiff round version, and regular white round laces. I went with the regular round laces, and since my feet are fat, I laced them up to he second to last lace hole so I could double knot them. They feature typical Vans cushioning, which is pretty good but nothing spectacular. The sole is sticky, they feature regular Vans flick and grip, and the suede and collar feel secure and keep my ankle locked in. The sole is factory marked GSI and the Vans waffle grip is a little bigger than other tread sizes. Weird. IFC factory soles have the worst durability so hopefully these will have better rubber, no matter the size of the tread. Once these stretch out a bit, I plan on ripping out the cushioning sockliner, and replacing it with Ortholite insoles from my ave natives, while hopefully not damaging the shockbeds underneath. I love these shoes. I was looking to replace my Chuck slides and these fit the bill. They look cool with any style of jeans, shorts, skirts, too. They are very comfortable and have lots of room in the toe bed. I added a Dr. Scholl's insole because I have high arches, and now they are perfect. I'm an 8 to 8.5 in tennies and the 8 fit me perfectly, even with the added insole.

These are super comfortable, and fit perfectly. This style is so perfectly retro, they clash fantastically with everything.

If you've never owned Vans before, know they run small. Order a half size or even a full size larger than you would normally do. As far as the look, how cool is that. I think way.
