A Great Buy! Birkenstock Bostons are a timeless style for all seasons. They provide great support and can be worn all day. They are my 'dog-walking' slip-ons in the morning then provide a casual, comfortable, stylish look throughout the day. Additionally, I only recently bought a replacement pair after wearing my last Bostons for over 6 years; this shoe is built to last! It has been my experience to buy 1 full size smaller than you usually wear and give them about a month of regular wear until the cork sole is properly formed to your foot. The Bostons are a great buy!

Satisfied, once again - Foot problems have forced me to go for comfort instead of style, however, these provide both. There is nothing more comfortable than Birkenstocks. Great for people with bunions, believe me! A "R" is actually nice and wide.

I like them and they are very comfortable. The only problem is that they make a funny sound when I walk. Great arch support and my feet don't hurt after wearing them all day.

This was the second time I had ordered Birkenstocks, and after reading the other reviews I ordered one size smaller this time, and it fits perfectly. Since Zappos return shipping is free, I didn't have anything to lose, and now that I know the size that fits best, without a doubt, I will be ordering more, I love these shoes, they were comfortable from day one, no breaking in necessary.

This is the second pair I have owned. Love this clog. Comfortable, almost like a slipper! Zappos is the best company to order from, I still am amazed how fast I receive the orders.

Birkenstock Bostons - I ordered these shoes for my daughter for Christmas. She was so excited to finally get a pair of Birkenstock's. The sizing was perfect and she said they are very comfortable. I will be purchasing shoes from Zappos in the future. Their service is awesome. Thanks!

Attention People Who Must Wear Custom Orhotics; PLEASE READ! I am one of those unfortunate souls who had no choice but to get custom-made orthotics for my feet; my left foot pronates, and my right foot supinates, which is very odd, not to mention my feet are very narrow, very thin, and my ankles resemble that of a bird's (think sparrow...)....to make a very long story short (just ask anyone in the Returns Dept. @ Zappos that I ordered several dozen pairs of shoes in the span of 1 month, and the most comfortable pair I found were the Birkenstock Boston's, BUT: my orthotics kept slipping out of them; I thought the heel cup would be deep enough, but it wasn't, so my orthotics would creep slowly back until they were hanging off the edge by a good inch or so; I was devastated b/c I finally found a pair of shoes that fit like a dream, and I couldn't wear them (unless I got a custom-made Boston modeled after my orthotics, which maybe I will, in the future, depending upon how expensive it is, etc.) BUT, and here's the GOOD BUT, which I never thought there could be, I discovered the Tatami Oklahoma's (Tatami is a 'division' of Birkenstock, I believe) and they are an absolute DREAM COME TRUE!! The footbed is removable, should your orthotics be very thick and/or bulky where you have to wear them by themselves in the shoe (meaning with no footbed in the shoe, just placing the orthotics directly on the 'shell' of the shoe) OR, you could place your orthotic on the footbed and it WILL REST INSIDE AND NOT SLIDE OUT THE BACK OF THE SHOE!!! The 'lip' on the back of the shoe is high enough to allow the orthotic to remain in the shoe and not slip back (and out); I cannot say how much I love the Tatami Oklahoma's and I tried to do a review directly for them, but they are out of Tatami products right now, so I can't leave feedback for them. So, if you love Boston's (or ANY Birkenstocks for that matter) but must wear custom orthotics, the Tatami Oklahoma may be the answer to your footwear-prayers; I hope to God they never stop making them b/c they are truly a Godsend, and I personally feel that they are as 'good' as 'regular' Birkenstocks; I honestly cannot tell the difference; both footbeds are fantastic, and in my opinion, they are well worth the extra money. I also wanted to thank Zappo's again for being so patient w/ me and making my 'Shoe Chronicles', as I call them, as painless as possible! TATAMI OKLAHOMA'S = AWESOME Happy Holidays to everyone, and I hope this wordy review helped other folks out there like me w/ 'problem feet':) PS: I got the 'narrow' and they fit perfectly w/ my orhtotics:)

Love these shoes! I'm a teacher and needed a really supportive shoe that could withstand 8+ hours on my feet. I tried all kinds of shoes until I finally found these. They're not the most beautiful shoes in the world, but I will never wear anything else! Even my tennis shoes are not as comfortable as these. One note: go to a store that sells Birkenstocks first. Try on a few pairs to see what your size is. My Birkenstock size was a full size smaller than what I normally wear. Also, narrow is like a regular U.S. shoe. Zappos is fantastic as well!

Cannot go wrong with these - Just like everyone else is saying, the Bostons are fantastic clogs. I love the looks, and the footbed is just amazingly comfortable. Just give it some time to break in, and the clogs will be one of the most satisfying investments you've ever made. If you don't have wide feet, order the narrow.

Outstanding shoe, outstanding service - The Birkenstock Bostons are great 3-4 season shoes. I wear them out in all but the wettest/snowiest conditions and have a second pair dedicated to in house wear only (they are more comfortable than bare feet). I have owned many pairs over the years and have always felt they are worth the investment. You will get many years out of any Birks. I just purchased from Zappos for the first time and am equally impressed. I ordered the wrong pair (entirely my fault) and Zappos offered to send out the right ones in addition to the pair I ordered at no extra provided I ship the wrong pair back (at their expense mind you) when I receive them. Talk about taking care of the customer. The next morning, I get an e-mail stating they caught the original order at the warehouse and not to worry about having to send anything back.

Birkenstock Closed End Clogs - I would warn buyers of Birkenstocks to be careful with sizing. I returned my pair twice, my wife returned hers once to get a shoe that was large enough and the correct width. In addition to length, pay atttention to the width: narrow makes a difference. Shoes in general are TOO SMALL by at least one size. The molded arches are very comfortable: that made it worth the hassle. Zappos was very accomodating about making exchanges, as always. I would recommend the open toe styles--sandals, etc. Germans still make these shoes! So quality is high.

I love these shoes. My first pair lasted 7 years of almost constant wear. I wore them everyday to work. As I was told they uncomfortable for the first two week because my foot wasn't used to being supported after that I never took them off. This pair I didn't have to have the break in period for my feet. I just slipped them on and pure bliss.

Boston Birks - My last Boston’s have lasted 9 years, the one before 6. I am a chef who uses them out of work as well and am looking to buy my 3rd pair. Thanks for the best shoe out there. I also have a broken foot yet get the support I need.

A great Fall and Winter solution to my open Birks. Can even be worn with socks on colder days.

There's a reason Birks have been around so long. These are fantastic quality, and my feet feel good even after 12hrs of being on my feet. I've recently discovered the soft footbed and that's the only thing that makes the Boston better!

My husband has been wearing this style of Birkenstock shoe since well before we met 7.5 years ago. In that time he's gone through 1.5-2 pairs (one that he had before we met and one that I bought him a few years back; I just purchased his latest pair this month). It takes about 2 weeks to break them in, he says, but they last a good 3 years, even when wearing them all day every day. Definitely worth the price! The style leaves a little to be desired (clunky, not particularly fashionable) but he loves them and doesn't care that people make fun of his "clogs," so they work for him.

An amazing shoe. It probably does run a little wider than indicated, because I have rather wide feet and it fit fine at a 'regular' width. The length was perfect. I'm not crazy about the color, but in my size (48), there aren't many color selections available. That being said, it is a ridiculously comfortable shoe. Aside from my 'wicked good' slippers from LL Bean, which I cannot wear at work (because they're slippers), they're the most comfortable shoe I own, and I own a lot of shoes. Love them. I'll definitely be buying more when these wear out.

I have been a devoted Birkenstock wearer since the early 90's when they were in fashion at that time and have worn the sandals whether or not they are "fashionable" ever since. They are durable and last for years. I love the comfort and support they provide. I have very wide feet and have a job that requires standing all day, and these have proven ideal for keeping my plantar fasciitis at bay. This is my first pair of the closed-toe style in over a decade. I can't really give them a 5-star rating for style, but Birkenstocks are kind of their own thing and thus get a pass on style. Plus, in my book, comfort always wins!

Best shoes ever! I am young and only 21 and yet have feet problems. If my shoes don't have support, my heels hurt. These clogs have been a life saver. Often I have come home from school with aching feet and when I slip these on its instant relief! I got these for the house on hardwood floors and it gives the support my feet need. No longer do my feet hurt when I'm home. Highly recommend!
