I ordered these sandals based on the recommendation of a friend as well as customer reviews. They are very nice. I have one foot that has been fused after dislocation and break, so I can't wear them if I am going to be on my feet a lot (orthodics are my only option for that), but they do allow me a sandal option instead of enclosed shoes all the time. The arch support is not as much as I expected, it is just okay. They are the best casual sandal I have found for my foot issues. If the arch was higher I would have given them 5 stars.

I own 3 pair of these and they are wonderful. My aunt also owns several pair of the sandals and a lace up style.
She is 80 years old with a total hip and knee. The soles of the sandals are thick and she is falling more often this summer due to tripping by catching the toe of sandals on any elevation she attempts. I am going to recommend that she wear the closed toe lace up ECCO. She has broken her leg once from falling.
I have tripped a few times my self from catching the thick sole on uneven side walks or just not lifting my foot up hight enough. We both love the shoes, but think she needs to be out of them to see if it reduces her falls. She fell twice on Sunday and had the sandals on both time. I will let you know if the lace up ECCO makes a difference.

I don't recommend this sandal for the elderly who is on a walker or cain.

I really liked these sandals on a friend...ordered the brown/gold color...what arrived at my house was a plain dark brown that was not feminine or fun, I didn't care for the other colors they came in....so I had to return them. Otherwise they are a great sandal! I have wide, flat feet and they felt terrific, love the adjustable straps.

I have a long, slender foot, with my second and third toes extending beyond my big toe. Therefore, I always seem to be hitting my toes on something. I ordered this shoe in a European size 41, which is a half size larger than the 9.5 medium (European size 40)that I normally wear. That solved the toe problem. The medium width is actually a bit too wide for me, but with the adjustable straps, I was able to adjust the width to where they feel very comfortable. The European size 41 fits like a dream. I haven't done much walking in them yet, but they feel as if I will be able to do a lot of comfortable long-distance walking in them.
I recommend these Yucatans and will buy them again when these wear out.

I have a low volume foot, with terrible pronation. Many pairs of sandals have been bought and returned, looking for "the one." These are the best so far. I wish I could make them a little tighter across the toe and instep. They're beautifully made and the insides are very comfortable. If you have a very wide foot, these probably will not work for you.

I like the sandals, they're sturdy, comfy, and stylish, but I ordered brown, and they don't look like the ones in the picture. They have one color leather, the darker brown. There aren't any areas with the lighter accent color. They aren't as good looking as the pictured ones.

The Ecco sport is my all time favorite shoe. It is comfortable and fits like a glove. There is just one problem! My feet tend to perspire and reacts with the shoes inner sole. There is no other way to say this, but the shoes smell awful! I have tried 2 pair with the same result. Any suggestions? Other brand sandals don't seem to have this effect.

Needed a replacement for the no-longer-made Teva Terra Fi 3. Didn't want a "lite" version. Liked the new Ecco well enough to keep; the style is slightly more amenable to dressy situations. Good walking sandal. Seems durable; they'd better be at this price. Easy on-off. Seemed a little tight around the toes at first, but seem to have broken in or worked out; no longer a problem. However, a little disappointed in the level of pronation correction, which Teva had. That's why I marked the "arch support" as only moderate; it's not really the arch, which seems okay, but what the arch in other shoes generally does for my tendency to roll feet inward.

Sturdy, well-made sporty sandal that I ordered along with the ECCO Sport Biom Chiappo style. They fit similarly but the Yucatan was slightly heavier and heavier-looking. They are about the same in length for my 7.5M foot, just the right length for an open-toe sandal (any shorter and my toes would have been over the edge). With the various adjustments both styles accommodated my wider toes well but could have been narrower in the heel; I had to pull both in as much as possible but the Yucatan felt wider. Since both are open in the arch area it's important that the arch support be "right" especially if your feet pronate as do mine. Of the two, the Yucatan is one did not support my arches correctly causing the front strap to cut slightly into the inner side of the front of my foot. The Chiappo seemed to have a better fitting arch support for my needs and was better looking than the photos; I think these would look great with a skort or summer skimmer dress. If your feet don't pronate and you don't have narrow heels but wider toe box, you would do well with either.

I bought these for a trip I'm taking to Spain in July. I've been doing little 3 mile trail walks with them. I have really hard to fit feet and that Plantar thing. These are pretty good. I was hoping for a bit better arch support, but my feet are okay after 3 miles with just one little blister on the ball of my foot. Perhaps that will get better.

I was really hoping that these sandals would work after all the positive feedback I read. They are reasonably comfortable with decent arch support. I have a very wide foot and thought based upon the video that all of the straps were fully adjustable however the strap across the toes is not making them too tight/narrow for me.

I was intrigued by the looks of this sandal, but although the straps could be made to be comfy (I ordered a M and my feet are N), the strap that runs from the front strap to the rear one bags out awkwardly. I see no reason for that side strap to be there. Had to return shoe.

had a pair of Bite running sandals for years and ran a 5k as well as hiked 6 days through Glacier National Park with them. They stopped making them and Croc took over Bite. Their substitute is an inferior product and I so regret not having bought a couple of extra pairs. I have been looking for a substitute ever since. These Eccos are very good and comfortable and much better than others that I have tried (Teva and Keen). I have short, wide feet. However, they are not waterproof so not so good for wading through streams and have no raised lip to protect the toes as the Bite sandal did so I can't run in them. If these two issues don't affect you then this is the sandal for you.

These sandals are the most comfortable walking shoe I have ever owned. This is my third pair. I want one in every color. I have a wide foot and they are fine. My podiatrist even got excited when he saw my shoes!

These sandals look a bit like Earth shoes, but the ankle strap is definitely made for larger feet since I had to tighten them all the way, leaving more than 1 inch of strap unattached to the Velcro at the side. Also, the front has an adjustable strap, which camouflages the fact that the cross piece underneath is all one piece, allowing for very little expansion. So, if you have really wide feet in front, these might be too tight. The arch support is fairly good, though the side strap is loose on my foot. The footbed is quite comfortable, but unfortunately the shoe doesn't fit my foot perfectly.

Fit great! Feel great! These shoes don't make my foot look huge like so many of these types of sandals do; and they look feminine on the feet. Only one thing, one spot on top of my big toe rubs where the seams are on the underside of the neoprene.

Very comfortable sport sandal, wore it on vacation in Europe. Has neoprene lining the straps so it did not give blisters. It has a narrow profile so I was able to get it snug enough around my narrow foot. Footbed is brushed soft so my feet did not get sticky.

Really comfy for long walks. Albeit wide for my foot (6 medium) so everything is on furthest "pull" on the velcro. Will enjoy these with walking socks just as well as barefoot.

I've had these sandals for 3 years and they still look good. They have great arch support, which is a must for me. I can wear them all day. However, my feet get too sweaty in them, and the sole smells so that I have to spray them after every use. I have not ever had this problem before, so I don't think it's me! Even though these have not worn out, I must find another sandal that will keep my feet drier.

The sandals fit well and were comfortable except for the part across the toes. It was very irritating. I stuck a piece of moleskin over it and it was better.

This is my 6th pair of Ecco sandals. It is comfortable for long walks and looks stylish enough for me to wear most non-dressy places. The one thing I did not realize when I ordered it is that the strap over the toes is one connected piece and so is not as adjustable as it would be were there two parts. (I have a small bunion on my right foot so I usually look for sandals that are adjustable.) However, so far that has not been a problem for me.

I loved the fit and comfort (had a little trouble with my bunion with a blister, however, it was much better than any other shoe I've tried recently)!

Have a very large, wide foot for a woman, and needed something I could do heavy walking in while in Italy. After trying about 4 different styles, this one was perfect: great fit, excellent support, even more comfortable then my gym shoes. Wore them with shorts and dresses, and walked around in them for an entire week without any blisters. I did break them in ahead of time, and I highly recommend that idea. So far, the velcro is holding up well, the shoe is still extremely comfortable, and I'm wearing them a lot at home too. Only downside...they make my feet smell awful! Small price to pay.

I've just purchased my second pair of Yucatan sandals. I need support because of pronated arches and a chronic tendonitis, and that's not easy to find in a sandal. These are excellent, the fit can be adjusted in the front, across the ankle and behind the heel. The footbed is sculpted to support the arch and it's also very soft and comfortable. It's expensive for a sandal, but I've worn a pair for a year and they have held up very well. They're also good-looking enough that I've felt comfortable wearing them even on dressier occasions. My only criticism is that they run small. If you have a medium to wide foot you can get away with the next size up. If your foot is narrow like mine, you may be stuck with a great sandal that's just a little bit short!
