I bought these to wear with jeans out and about. I live where there is a considerable amount of rain and I want a water resistant shoe. I bought these shoes because I like my toes to have wiggle room and not feel like my foot is squeezed into some sort of preshaped coffin. I also have a pair of pro-fi's which are very sloppy on my foot. These are less sloppy and look better. I wore these shoes for a couple of days before they felt super comfy. The shoes rubbed a little on the top of my foot for the first few wearings. Today I went for a walk with the dog who pulls so hard I figured it was better to run with her which is what I did in these shoes, without any problems. The only other shoes I prefer over these are Five Finger - but alas, I will not wear those in the winter or while it is raining. During the winter these shoes seem to keep in the cold so I wore thicker socks. I like the slip on. I like to rinse them off (dog poop). I like the look (I am a casual gal - jeans and a a tee shirt). I like the feel (they may possibly be heavier than most shoes, but I like the weight - not too heavy and it is better than a leg weight). I have owned these for a month. My profi's I have owned for two years and are holding up well.

This is my second pair. Still a good fit. The shoe runs a touch small and it is a heavier shoe; but it works great for me! Zappos service has been excellent! Fast shipping and even faster exchange process!! Definitely would shop Zappos again!

Good, quality shoe -
Takes a few days to break in ... feels better with thicker socks ... although I don’t have a narrow foot, the narrow shoe fit me better than the regular ... the shoe is heavier than most.

Birki Active -
I'm a chef, so all day I'm on my feet. I've had these shoes for about a year. which is usually how long a pair will last. But so far I've only had to replace the cork foot liner. My last pair of shoes was the Birki Fun, Which I liked a lot, they were very light. This shoe is very heavy and I seem to skuff my feet a lot. My next shoe needs to be lighter.

Great shoe although heavier than most other clogs. Completely slip resistant in the kitchen I work in. I must have a thick foot because the top split within 3 months of wearing them. This also happened with my SuperBirkis, but not until after a year of 40+hr work weeks. This style (activebirki) comes with a cork footbed vs. the Superbirki which comes with a poly footbed(no good!!!) I am such a loyal Bikenstock customer that I keep trying to make it work. Would never try that other reptile impostor clog. Coop-ing with Zappos and I am sure they will help me out.

I don't know if I bought the right size?
So my foot.. it fits the bottom liner perfectly so I assumed that the shoe is the proper size... but the rest of the shoe seems large. I don't think that these are my favorite shoes. I have a pair of closed crocs that I like much better. I work in the medical field and I couldn't wear these all day.

These are the worst shoes I've ever tried. They are heavy and stiff. I will stick to wearing my favorite shoes: Keens.

There is no way this was a women's nine! It felt like I was walking around in my husband's shoes! They were literally falling off!

Husband wears 11.5, but this shoe was not available in that size, so he tried 12 since he can sometimes wear 12s. Nope, too big, foot slides around, so these are true to size. They are also very heavy. I'm returning them.

I have arthritis in my big toes and capsulitis in the balls of my feet. These are the only shoes I've been able to wear, with comfort and not pain, for hours on end.

This is a true multipurpose shoe for a person with purpose. I originally purchased these shoes as my main chef shoes because 1. I'm standing 90% of the time at work and 78% of my life. These have plenty of room for feet swelling, good arch support, toe room, helps my overpronation, and they are comfortable to wear on 8 + hour shifts. 2. No hands required to put on and take off. 3. They do not slip or slide. 4. Liquid proof. 5. Heat proof. 6. Better features on these than the other shoes of this style and price. 7. Ridged sole. But not to firm to hinder comfort. 8. Not many people wear them. Others sometimes call me a hippie for wearing Birks even though I listen to grindcore and gabber. 9. These shoes are great for house hold chores and maintenance. Just hose them off. 10. The only bad thing I found was after wearing them for two years with 50 hour work/culinary school - the rubber on top got a 1 inch tear causing them to slip off my foot while walking. Electrical tape wrapped around fixed the problem. 11. Overall I recommend them.

These shoes are really sturdy. They are a bit heavy but not terrible. They take a bit of time to break in but are very durable, easy to clean and nice and stylish. I am on my feet all the time and my feet never hurt.

These are very comfortable for everyday wear, except, being rubber, they can get a bit hot. They fit well and look okay, for Birkenstock products. One doesn't wear these as a fashion statement.

This shoe is perfect for working in a vet office. My daughter likes them so much and the vet wanted to know where she bought them. They really are perfect for any kind of medical field where shoes can get dirty.

This is my usual size 39N but these felt short and my toes crumched. I am going to try the Boston oiled Leather. I have many of the sandals and wear Birkenstock exclusivly after an accidently tumble down the stairs and two knee surgeries left me with painful legs and plantar faciaitis. I am comfortable in not but the Birks. I tried the Haflinger clogs and really liked them but my feet suffered at end of day. I read the reviews of others and would appreciate suggestions of other Brands that I might try with thee same support but style would be a nice change up, don't you know. Thanks!

I am a Chef and bought these shoes because my Crocs just were not doing it for me anymore. As soon as I pulled them out of the box I knew I was in trouble. They are way too heavy to be comfortable on your feet twelve hours a day! They are freak-en' Frankenstein Shoes! As you walk, you can hear the "Clomp, Clomp" and my god, are they uncomfortable. Not recommended.
