Love my new Birkenstock shoes! They are so comfortable. Especially now when I have developed injury: plantar fasciitis and can't wear any other kinds of shoes for the summer. My feet don't hurt and I can walk miles with them.

Earlier reviews were accurate. This sandal runs wide, and has three adjustable straps that really help in sizing the shoe to the foot. Good arch support, comfortable especially after the straps are softened. (This only takes a few days.) this is NOT a particularly beautiful sandal, but you will walk with support and comfort.

A great sandal. The first pair were so great, I had to buy a second pair. Well worth the cost.

These soft sole versions are more comfortable than the harder sole (old fashioned ones that are less). Worth the extra money. These are also more narrow if you have a narrow foot. The sole is also thicker - more like one inch compared to 1/2 inch.

This is my second pair as the first pair wore out after 10 years! The fit is perfect no need to break these in. Highly recommend these.

I have regular width feet and chose regular. In my Florida Birks, I am 39, but I had to size down to 38 in these. I have them buckled to the very smallest levels and am glad there will be a chance to make new holes and shorten straps once they stretch out a bit. The suede is lovely and I am happy with soft footbed.

I have had 4 pairs, now 5, of these sandals. I need a soft bed, and these really provide that. Because I wear them so much,I have even had a pair resoled twice at my local shoe cobbler, and had cleats put on the heels at times. When it turns warm here in Chicago, you won't see me wearing any other footwear but my Birkies. I am super hard on all shoes, and the footbed actually conforms to your foot after a couple of weeks. Highly recommended.

I would love to be able to wear these Birkenstock shoes. They are well made. However, my feet are not straight and in the Birkenstocks it really emphasizes this crookedness and really looks quite ridiculous on my feet. So while I cannot wear them I gave them five stars and envy those who can wear them.

I was so pleased that it came early. Loved the color and the sandal. I have trouble getting a size that looks nice and feels comfortable. I have never had a Birkenstock sandal so it seems just a tad big. So I'm hoping the next time I'll try a 37 rather than 38. But I do feel supported and was happy that I could get a Soft Footbed! Thank you.

A classic! The soft footbed is great. Makes the shoes comfortable from day one, especially if this is your first pair of Birks. My podiatrist recommended that I try Birks to support my flat feet and to offload pressure from the ball of my foot and bunion. I wear them with medium thick wool socks, and notice an immediate difference with regard to relieving foot pain when I wear them; they're even more comfortable than going barefoot.

I love the shoes. They are a tiny bit (as in millimeters) short at the toe end, though other wise the fit is wonderfully comfortable. I lecture for a two hour class, standing and walking around in these, and my feet stay comfortable. Also comfortable for long walks.

I ordered a full size down and they are way too big. I will have to search for the extra small sizes, these are a 36. The soft footbed seems like it would be comfortable if they fit.

A great buying experience, I had to return 1st pair I ordered & they made it so easy. I really didn't expect that. I was so pleased that I ordered a 2nd pair. They even came a day earlier than they told me. I 100% recommend Zappos. Their customer service rep. Was very friendly & helpful.

These are the most comfortable sandals I have yet to wear. Great arch support, and the footbed is incredible.

I love these shoes. Birkenstocks are always reliable. Comfy and hardy summer shoes. Be cautious of the width sizing, especially for women, it changes the fit of the shoe substantially.

My husband loves these sandals. He has "diabetes toes" and has a hard time finding shoes and sandals that don't hurt his toes. He has a very narrow foot (AA) so these sandals are a little wide on him, so he wishes a narrow size was available. But they don't touch his toes, so he is very happy with his new Birkenstock sandals.

The heel strap is just what I need with Birkenstocks! I used to wear Birkenstocks many years ago but would "walk out" of them. I've been having some trouble with my big toes and really needed open toe shoes. I tried these and love them! I liked them so much that I tried the Florida style with open back - which in fact do not work for me. Soft footbed is great! They did take a few weeks to break in. I wish that the lower strap had one more hole in it but that is a minor complaint and one I can fix myself.

Love these sandals. I adjusted the back strap so that I can slip them on and off and they are the only shoe I wear around home, indoors and out. As I age barefooting becomes more painful but the soft footbed is and this sandal are the next best thing.

These are well made, comfortable shoes. I plan on wearing them into the cold weather with wool socks. The leather footbed does not cause your foot to smell. I normally wear a 9-1/2 to 10 depending on the shoe. In the Birkie I wear a size 40 and it fits fine.

Love Berkshire! Only complaint is the leather on this style is stiff. It seems to be softening though with use.

I love these sandals. The trick is to wear them on short trips for the first few times you wear them. They are not awe inspiring out of the box, the beauty of these sandals is realized after you have had them for awhile. Also, you can get these resoled and avoid the breaking in of another pair. These sandals will last a long time if you take care of them. I had the normal footbed kind for eight years and wore them as an everyday shoe for about half of those years. I switched to the soft footbed because of plantar fasciitis.

I've always liked the concept of these sturdy well-made and down-to-earth shoes but could never wear them because the foot bed was too hard. So I was delighted to see them offered with a soft footbed -- now they are perfect for me. Regarding the sizing, I fit both the 39 and 40 to some degree. The 39 was a tiny bit short I thought it might work. The 40 seemed a bit too big at first but was more ultimately more comfortable and the best choice. I have a pair of Naots I had for years that are much like the Birkenstocks without this heel strap. After trying on some Naots I found they no longer seem to be as well made as they once were, so I'm very pleased to have found the soft footbed Birkies.

This was our purchase from Zappos that was beyond compare. We tried two types of closed toe shoes, I have wide toes, narrow heel with wide toe base area....The closed toe shoes just didn't fit...With Zappos, no problem! They exchanged the shoes 3 times until we got it right with the Birkenstocks! I am beyond impressed. My family used to HAVE to shop at Nordstrom for my feet, because they were the only store that would exchange shoes after short use, guarantee them for their lives. I have found a new replacement for Nordstroms for my shoes, thank you so much!

My husband really likes Birkenstock sandals. He has flat feet and his feet get sore...Birks are so comfortable for him. I would prefer he got a darker color but he seems happy enough with them as is. He has wide feet and the 40's fit his 9 wide fine.
