The fit was okay but this style made my feet look huge. That said, the main reason I'm returning them is my ankle bone rested directly on the side of the shoe and was very uncomfortable.

This Shelter shoe is NOT as pictured. Images on the web site show a polished, pebbled surface upper, but the current model is in fact an oiled leather and synthetic upper and dull, not shiny, so it is not appropriate as a business shoe. They are not as heavy as previous versions, either. The soles are now foam, not rubber, and the interiors seem less flexible, and it's taking a long time to break in. After wearing a few hours, mine look worn and wrinkled, not only a day old. They show scuffs more, too. There aren't any instructions for maintaining them. I normally wear a size 11.5. This pair is 12 and a bit tight. My last pair was very comfortable and lasted over ten years, but I don't see these doing the same. Kind of a shame that the shoes have the same model designation but aren't designed as well. I wouldn't buy them again.

CAREFUL! This shoe has changed. I've purchased half dozen of these shoes over the years. Great shoe for work site and it polished up beautifully for a more dressy situation (visiting the front office). The black was out of stock for a year and when it returned I quickly bought a pair. New black shoe's upper leather is now a dull matte finish and doesn't polish at all. Sent them back but the replacement pair is the same. Still a good shoe but no longer as versatile as previous pairs. I believe the same shoe in brown still has the upper leather as advertised..

It was that time of year where my old pair of work shoes needed a refresh. The dockers shelter has been a good show so I decided to purchase them again after getting a pair 1.5 years earlier. i don't know what happened in between that time but the shoes are very squeaky now. The tongue on both shoes rubs with the eyelets area and eat step squeaks. So odd! Other than that they still look pretty sweet and the color is quite nice.

Shoes look good and they fit well (size-wise at least). However, they were very stiff and squeaked when I walked in them. I think the stiffness would go away after a while, but not so sure about the squeaking.

Should be re-named the Cruel Shoe. I expect that a new leather shoe with a snug fit will feel a little tight until it stretches and forms to my foot. Not this one. After spending 25$ for a shoe stretcher it has gotten no better. Why? Because of a liner or insert that extends a third of the way up from the toe made of plastic or some other material that will not stretch. I assume it is there to keep the shape of the toe area? Whatever the reason, these shoes are heading for the trash in less than a month.

First off these shoes look great. For the pricing you cannot beat them. As far as the comfort they have a lot to be desired. I have worn them about 12 times so far and they still are not broke in yet. The leather between the tongue and the lace part squeaked so much that I had to put some mink oil on it to quiet it down. There is little to no padding on the sides and the bottom. It is almost like you are walking directly on the concrete floor. I guess I am use to sneakers with a lot more comfort. As far as the tread goes, there is very little of it. The ice and snow packed it very quickly and there is no traction. The tread seems to be soft and wears off fast on concrete. If you just sit at your desk all day they would be prefect for the business / casual look. If you do any type of work these are not the shoes for you. Save the money and spend a little more on better shoes. I would have returned them but the return policy says once you wear them you own them.

These are great shoes. However, the only complaint I have is that the rubber soles need to be made more durable with a better compound. They wear down pretty quickly. Much faster than most other shoes I purchased. I can go through a pair of the Shelter / Black shoes in a matter of a few months needing to replace them because of the worn down soles.

I found this shoe comfortable. However, I was surprised how quickly the sole wore down. I like to go on walks daily. Within 6 months the tread was gone.

Service was great. Quality: well I had to scrape off excess stitching and one shoe lace has started to shred after two weeks. Very disappointed in those quality items. Shoes are okay though!

It took a couple of days for the shoes to break in, but after that they were pretty comfortable. Four months later, the soles are worn down to the point where I can feel pebbles when I step on them. I wear these shoes every single day and walk at least 3 miles each weekday in them, but I was hoping for a longer-lasting sole.

For some reason, I can't pinpoint, these shoes never felt comfortable. Repeatedly, I put them on, and then an hour or so later, I took them off. Was it the leather? The welt? I can't say. But they just never worked. I felt like DOCKERS should stick to clothes and forget shoes

I liked the look and style of the shoes. But they were about a half size too small. The return process was quick painless however. They emailed me the return label and it was easy to drop it off at a UPS drop site.

I thought I was ordering the exact same Dockers shoe I had previously purchased: stock number 90-3902 (made in China). However, this shoe is stock number 90-03902 (made in Pakistan). They are not the exact same shoes which is disappointing and misleading.

Looked and felt nice but kind of clunky. Definitely sturdy. Only worn one day - the sides dug into my ankle bones and gave me blisters on the outsides of my ankles from the side of the shoe going higher than other dockers and similar shoes I wear. I had no issues returning these. Your mileage may vary.

These were insanely comfortable... for about three months. After that, the shoes completely fell apart and my heels felt almost like I had plantar fasciitis (although only when wearing these shoes). After my bad experience with these shoes, I have stuck with Bass shoes or Dunham and I have had no issues.

I found this shoe very uncomfortable. There's a raised ridge around the inside edge of the back of the shoe that really digs in to my ankle. The sizing is off - I usually wear a 10 - but would wear a 10 1/2 with this shoe, possibly due in part to that raised ridge on the inside of the shoe. I also don't like the faux-leather around the opening of the shoe (in my last pair of Dockers, this began to flake off). I'll return these for something more comfortable and better quality

While they look very nice and I really like Dockers, this model of shoe has been the most uncomfortable I've purchased. They are very tight on the ankles and generally not wearable for extended periods of time. Or maybe I just have odd ankles.

The rubber sole wore down flat in less than 6 mos. I walk around a lot on a small college campus 2 weeks a month but that is ridiculous. I can feel every crack and bump on the ground now and it is very uncomfortable. I do like that they stretch out as I have wide feet and wear 3E in most shoes.

This is a very comfortable shoe. However, it is not a long lasting shoe. I'm talking specifically about the soles. I've owned them now for 3 months and the bottoms are almost worn enough to be flat. I wear them twice a week and I do not do that much walking.

The label says "leather" but it's clearly made of manmade materials and looks very cheap. I'm surprised Dockers would put their good name on such a lousy product.

It says full grain leather online, but really it is genuine leather. Junk with a leather coating. I'm returning them.
