This is a beautiful slipper. For my father, however, who is 92, the lack of any height in the heel made him feel unbalanced. I also bought a size larger based on other reviews and the shoe was too big at one size larger. This slipper offers the width with the 3E, but half sizes would be a help in fitting.

My father received these slippers the last Christmas we were blessed to have had with him. He was a humble, hardworking man with few hobbies and very particular tastes so finding gifts that we knew that he would truly like and enjoy was always a challenge..... this final Christmas being no different...... But, I have to say that he absolutely loved these slippers!!! He wore them all the time. He loved how soft, comfortable and warm they were; and he kept wearing them even when the weather warmed and a less plush slipper would probably have been more appropriate. In June 2016 he was the admitted into the hospital for the first of several hospitalizations that summer that culminated with his passing that August. We took his slippers to the hospital that first hospitalization but, because of liability risks, the hospital insisted he use those horrendous non-skid socks. He wasn’t happy about that. He wasn’t happy about that at all. Nope, nope, nope... I wish I would have disregarded the medical recommendations at least once and let him use his slippers. As those final months passed he continued to weaken at an increasingly rapid pace... he lost strength in his legs and by late July was no longer able to stand and walk anymore... It was Christmas of 2015 when my dad received these slippers and I know it seems crazy that I’m writing a review now, over 2 years later; but, in checking the status of a recent order, I came across the old order I placed for these slippers. I’m not the type of person to write a review, however, I felt compelled to do so today. Seeing the image of these slippers reminded of father, how much he loved wearing these slippers and how they were one of the few gifts to him, in my lifetime that, we actually got right. He really did love those slippers and I love them too because of how much they remind me of him.
