Love the look and walking comfort of this item but the stitching along the top edge of the shoe is rather rough and irritating. Returned item for this reason.

Loved the style of the shoe, but it was just too high on my ankle and wanted to rub a spot Even with thin socks, I could tell they were not even going to get me a half day traipsing around Paris. Sorry, back they go.

I have several pair of Arche shoes and boots, so I ordered these in my usual size. I could barely get my foot into these! They were not only too short, but super narrow in the toe box, which is odd for Arche. I would say they were a full size smaller than my other Arche shoes. The top of the shoe is shaped strangely, as well...at least on my foot. The "u" of the top did not sit at the center of my foot top, but was skewed to one side. These went back to Zappos.

After reading all the rave reviews, I bought both the Arche Laius and the Arche Lilly to try out in both sizes 9 & 10. I wanted a flat to wear. I am a solid size 9, occasionally a size 9.5 if a brand runs small. I wear a 9 in both dress shoes and sneakers. So, I ordered the flats in both size 9 (40) and size 10 (41) since in the U.S. often a 9 is a 40.5 just to be safe. What a waste of time. The 9's in the Laius were way too tight, the 9's in the Lilly were less tight but too tight and the 10's were snugger than desired but not as tight. They fit but I could not imagine wearing them all day. I tried them at the end of the day since feet swell and that is the best time to try on shoes. I should not need to order a size 11 if I wear a 9! The suede is buttery soft and gorgeous on both styles and the colors are nice. The rubber soles seem nice, but, another feature I noticed that was really uncomfortable is that the heel support runs halfway along the foot bed and tapers down and then stops and then the shoe is lined on top of that, well, there is a very noticeable ridge where the heel support runs out. And you can both see it when you look at the shoe and feel it when you wear them. It was in all 3 pairs, different styles, sizes and colors, so it's not a fluke just in 1 pair. If you have sensitive arches or instep, you will probably feel this when worn, I sure did. Also, the stretchy elastic opening really doesn't stretch or give like the description leads you to believe, at least not on the suede models and this makes the tab at the end/back of the shoe dig into the back of your heel. Like other reviewers, I think that would be really painful. A pricey shoe should not have these problems. I've seen better made less priced shoes. Shame, the shoes are beautiful to look at.

I love Arche and have several pairs of their boots that I wear eight months of every year. With that said, the Laius is a big disappointment. Or, should I say, a SMALL disappointment?! These shoes are so narrow and the toe box is so shallow, they are hideously uncomfortable. Sizing up (from 41 to 42) does nothing but make the shoe loose in the heel.

While I loved the style and the design of the shoe, it was not a good fit for my foot. The tab at the heel rubbed my foot and seemed very uncomfortable. while the length seemed okay, the toe box felt too narrow. I really want a shoe like this to wear on my travels - lightweight, stylish, and comfortable. Unfortunately, this particular shoe and brand doesn't work for my feet.

Wearing these shoes was one of the most painful experiences ever. I have high arches and so my feet roll slightly toward the outside. These are designed for people who do the opposite because the soles of these shoes are thinner toward the outer edges. With each stride, my foot would roll out causing awful pain and instability (and risk of ankle injury). These are not designed for people who have high arches. So, if you tend to wear the outer edges of the soles of your shoes, be careful.

i bought these shoes in the past year and have not worn them very much. the insole is black leather but right under it, is some kind of white additional insole, that should be attached and not visible. well in my shoes the two insoles have separated and the white insole is completely crumbling. These shoes are EXTREMELY costly and I expect way higher quality control. I have written to customer service at L'arche and have not received any reply. DO NOT SPEND THE MONEY ON THESE EVEN THOUGH THEY LOOK NICE AND ARE COMFORTABLE. They will not last!

Castor is a lovely charcoal color, and this is a lovely flat. However, it seems half-size small and very narrow in the toe box. I will reluctantly return as I am quite certain that one size up will be too large.

Fit and size true. Soft but not squishy. Fitted upper. Flexible soles. I can’t wear heels, so this comfortable ballerina is dressy enough for all occasions.

After reading the suggestion by Arche that Laius was running small I ordered a 39 as I usually wear a 38, good call! I have a pair of Laius that I purchased several years ago, the 38 fits well so I was hesitant to change. However, with the manufacturer's suggestion to size up half a size, interesting as they don't come in half sizes, I went up a full size to a 39 and am very pleased that I did. I have quite a few pair of Arche, I love these shoes. Comfortable, great style, wear well, beautifully made. Thank you.

Perfect flats. These are worth every penny. I have plantar fasciitis, but I walk and stand for work and need to have somewhat stylish flats that won’t kill my feet. These are it. The shoes are very sturdy, look very chic, and, best of all, help to manage the heel pain from plantar fasciitis—it’s all but gone.

Pricey but worth it. I found out about this brand on a site for people who suffer from plantar fasciitis. I’m a teacher, so I need shoes that allow me to walk quietly without squeaks (no thanks, Tieks!), have a soft but sturdy sole, and look cute. I bought my first pair two years ago on sale, and they’ve held up quite well, even through sloppy Iowa winters. My other go-to shoes are my danskos, but I’m already 5’11” and sometimes I’d prefer to stay under six feet. There’s a little invisible lift inside the shoe, so these look like all the cute ballet flats everyone else gets to wear. I have a freakishly high arch, so I weirdly prefer shoes that don’t get up in there (according to my orthopedist that’s pretty normal). I don’t think these have much arch support if you’re looking for that. I just think they’re not completely flat the way cheap flats are. I’ve tried French Sole, Vionics, and Clarks. Arche is my favorite, but I really do have to save up for them.

This shoe was recommended to me for being very comfortable. I was shocked when I saw the price but decided to splurge. I was glad that I did. It is probably the most comfortable shoe I own. I have wide feet (with bunions) and I have problems finding comfortable shoes. I walked for a couple of miles in this shoe and it stayed comfortable the whole time. It also looks very nice with jeans/leggings etc. I bought the nude color and it actually looks a little pink in the picture but it's a true nude not pink at all. I did take Zappo's advice and bought 1/2 size up (I wear a 7 1/2 and I bought an 8) and it fit perfectly.

I love Arche shoes. I have at least 8 pair of their ballet flats and love them all. I’m on my feet all day at work and these shoes do not disappoint! If you are hesitant to buy them because of the price, do not be. The latex sole lasts forever and the quality of the leather is worth every penny. You will wear these shoes for years!

These shoes are astonishingly comfortable. The rave reviews both inspired me to buy them and made me wonder if they could live up to the hype. But they absolutely do! I feel like I can walk forever in these flats. And they're beautiful. I plan to buy them in other colors.

I have narrow heels and on the left foot one big bunion. Arche flats mold to your feet. They are comfortable. The bunion is hidden. I have some Arche flats that are seven years old and still holding up. Pricey, yes and worth it! I am a 9.5 and purchase a 41 which is consistent in fit.

I have worn Arche for almost 30 years. My boots I bought 25 years ago - I am still wearing today. They've been resolved a few times and here and there repaired but I love them...and nobody does color like Arche. They "get it" re modern color and design (leave it to the French). I have an old old pair of these but they recently revamped the style a bit. I love the old and the new. I love these flats so much I search for them regularly used and have invested in 3 pair of them this year alone. They and Clarks unstructured are almost all I wear now. Clarks are a bit more cushiony but these are an awfully close second and far better looking than even Clarks unstructured ballet flat equivalents. Arche knows one does not need any extra goo gaw and they know not to hold back on rich color. They look fabulous with both dressy clothes and super casual stuff as well as daily work stuff. And they are incredibly comfortable (and I'm picky and have a lot of bone problems). Put a custom (made by an actual podiatrist or MD) orthotic and there is almost nothing else out there this attractive and this comfortable. There are lots of comfortable flats out there but nothing this truly good looking and comfortable. Vive le France and long may you reign, Arche. More please!

This was my first time to order Arche shoes. I read about them in a blog by Marcy Tilton, Vogue Patterns. She considers them essential for trips abroad. The leather finish is beautiful. Silver and faint green/blue metallic. They were too short in the toe bed in my usual size 9, am returning to exchange for size 10 since they are not made in half sizes.

The perfect "ballet type" shoe but with more coverage and support than most - I have the Laius also in gold and a grey snake-ish leather pattern-wear with leggings, jeans, skirts, dressier pants - it is the Bomb - and I'm pushing 60! I have a narrow foot and it fits fine.

I love these shoes! They're attractive and incredibly comfortable. I bought a European size 43 instead of my usual size 42, and am glad I did - the 43 fits perfectly. Found them on sale, and now I want another pair in a second color.
