I used to own these in 12R but had to get rid of them because my feet grew. I was hoping these would be as great as the pair I had to get rid of but they just didn't work out. They put pressure on the top of my foot (the bone on thee top) and was really uncomfortable. Sad! I wanted these to work! Even though the weather was horrible, I received these boots on a day when all state offices and schools were closed due to ice. Impressed!

I loved these boot, but they didn't fit b/c the ankle part is wide. I have a narrow heel and average forefoot so, my heel slipped out even with the heel being fitted.

I love these boots which is why I put so much effort in making them work. Knowing that Frye boots always run large foe me, I ordered them a half size smaller. If it were possible, I would have ordered them a full size smaller but 5 1/2 was the smallest size available. I ended up using insoles and heel pads to minimize the slippage which helped. I wore them around the house for a week and my feet finally acclimated to them. Called Frye and the told me there will always be some heel slippage with pull on styles. The boots are incredibly well made. Thanks Zappos for the amazing service.

I just got these long wished for boots for Christmas. One was so comfortable even on the first "try on", but the other is a little tight at the bunion! I want these to stretch, but I'm not sure if they will. The size is extremely accurate and I've never had a shoe or boot fit so perfectly in the heel. The leather is very high quality and I am thrilled for the rubber sole. They smell wonderful!

Love Frye, loved these boots but you need good leg muscles because these are so heavy when walking. I returned them for the Harness which is my 4th pair of Fryes.

Love the look, just couldn't make them fit right. First I ordered a size 8 (my normal size). It was a bit of a struggle to get them on, and once I did they were just way too big; too much room in the toe area and they slipped a lot at the heel. So I ordered a 7.5. They were so hard to get on! I literally struggled for about 10 minutes. When I finally did get them on, they seemed to fit, but they did slip a lot in the heel. After wearing them around the house a few times to try and break them in, I realized they just weren't going to work. I had the same 10 minute struggle to get them on each time, then struggled to get them off. Plus the arch of my right foot always hurt when I tried to walk around in them. Sadly, I had to give up and return them.

Frye Harness Boots - These are very good looking boots, very comfortable and easy to break in. I wore them the first time and they were great, no blisters or sore spots, which is pretty great. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is they do fit a bit loose in the heel so you have to try different socks to remedy that. You should definitely order a 1/2 size down from your regular size.

Cool boots!! These boots are classic cool! I tried a couple of different sizes because they have narrow fit across the front of the boot (the top of the ball of my foot & across) but the heel has a bit of room - I ended up keeping my true size. They are comfortable with thin socks and despite the room in the heel; there is no friction/blisters. They look great and are built for pounding the pavement in style.

Runs long and narrow - After trying seven other pairs of Frye boots in both women's and men’s, I finally found a pair that fit. This wasn't it. I did have to order down a full size for length in the women's (as Frye recommends), but the width at the ball of the foot is torturously narrow. I don't normally have to wear wide sizes! I even tried the men's wide in the 12 R style, and found it to run medium, but the calf was too tight. In the end, what worked was the men's 8R in Gaucho (rather than black, which is what I had been trying). I found the different type of leather to make a big difference in comfort. And also, it's partly just a matter of finding the right pair. This is definitely a brand where two pairs of the "same" boot can feel very different.

Just disappointing. For the price I expected a bit more cushioning of the entire footbed as the heel is quite hard. They were snug at the toes to the point that I wouldn't be able to wear winter socks with them but slipped at the heel a bit and the actual opening at the top looked full on *baggy* at my ankle. I don't think I have super skinny ankles, they're just SO wide at the top.

I wanted to love these, but the heel slips so badly I can’t wear them. I have a medium to wide foot and they ran narrow but I think with time that part would’ve been ok. But the heel slip was too much, so they’re going back.

I purchased a pair of Melissa button boots about 7 years ago and fell in love with them! I still own them and it gets better with age. I decided to get a black pair this time & I was disappointed. It had a funny rippling effect in the top front of boot. Back they went.

Great boot but I was looking for something more fitting up to the top of my calve. It's a pull on, without a zipper so it's pretty wide near the top. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I have taken these boots to a shoe shop to be stretched. The right boot is very difficult to. Get on as I have high insteps . Hopefully Zi will soon enjoying wearing them v

I bought these online and made sure to get the extra wide calf but they still were very difficult to get on and I couldn't even get them up without scrunching my leggings. No way they'd fit with jeans! My calves measure 15.5 in. I exchanged these for the Melissa Button with back zipper and I love them. A great alternate if you like this style but have bigger/athletic calves.

Very sturdy but found these boots too narrow and too long. I find Frye men's boots fit my foot better.

Definitely not a boot if you're on the shorter side. These were just too tall for me and I am 5'3". The fit was big too, especially around the top of the foot/bottom of shin, of course it may be because they are a slip on.

I was thrilled to find a beautiful, basic style wine-colored boot that I had been looking for for two years. I was so disappointed when they arrived - I have a flexible high arch and because there wasn't a zipper, the pull and tug that was needed to get them on was not worth keeping them. I also felt the ankle area was very boxy looking. Will be sending them back.

The only complaint I have is that these boots run a little big. I needed a half size smaller, but had already worn them a few times.

These boots are absolutely stunning! The shaft height, calf width, foot length, and quality were all perfect. Unfortunately, the toe box is too narrow. My small toes rolled under each other to fit into the boots. I need a wide shoe in this style, but not a wide calf. I also have the Frye Veronica short boot in the same size, and those fit perfectly. Too bad these are going back! :(

Very heavy in weight. The top of the boot is huge. Could fit two of my lower legs side by side into the top of the boot. Leather is a little unsubstantial and floppy. Going to return.

Love the boots but they are a bit narrow and difficult to put on. If your feet run on the narrow side, you will love these boots. Great look but they are a bit heavy.

I was somewhat disappointed. The boots are not very comfortable and they are very narrow in toe area (and I have very narrow feet).
