I already owned a pair that was 11 years old. Thought of buying something less expensive this time. After ordering at least 9 other pairs ( as Zappos can verify), I decided to stop wasting my time and get the Vasque. Loved them the minute I put them on. Great for riding my Harley.

Had a pair decades ago. Never wore them out! Just bought new pair now made in Vietnam so lets see how quality holds up

I’ve worn Sundowners on thru hikes and on short day hikes. The support they provide is excellent. My ankles always feel protected. As with any hiking boot there is a break in period. With the Sundowner it is usually just a day or two. Already my pair is starting to loosen up and feel like a glove. (This is my fourth pair)

My husband loves his Vasque boots! He wears them in the snow and rain and they hold up beautifully. Very happy with this purchase!

I bought this boot in 1991 when I was 16 years old. The original boot finally died in 2016. This boot has been all over the world with me. Keep my feet protected and dry... no issues LOVE THE BOOT! When the boot failed... and I mean failed because the sole came off... and have sent to get repaired. I bought the new pair and they are the same as the VASQUE boots made in Italy. The new version is made in the US. I will only have this line of boots on my feet... I have backpacked over 2200 miles in these.

Wore my fist pair for five (5) years hiking, building homes everyday ten or more hours a day. These kept my feet dry in snow , rain and mud in the snow did require gaiters.Would have kept wearing them but after being snow bound in a mountain cabin for eleven days I forgot them while drying them and one shrunk. Went straight to rei to discover they only made them with a thin leather collar. I bought a pair but was never quite as comfortable as I had been in the original Sundowners. It would seem I have the chance to try them again.

Quality construction and comfortable beyond belief. A great buy if you are looking for a waterproof leather hiking boot.

These shoes fit great and look great. They are comfortable right out of the box although they still need some break-in time. I had to send back my original pair to buy a half size up in a wide. Perfect fit now. They might run a bit small and I recommend ordering a half size up, especially with some fat wool socks in there. Very pleased with these boots and highly recommend them!

Great shoe, if you don't wanna have to break them in I suggest getting a half size bigger, BUT once those are broken in....get what I'm saying here? Over all good boots!

I had a pair of these for over five years. Used everyday in extreme heat and cold. After two years I got an insole as the insides were wearing down. At their end the shoes sole on the balls feet were split from side too side. Had I wanted I could have had them re-soled. Hiking, working and after a break in time just casual boot this is the best boot I have ever had. Not too expensive for what it is and it can outlast your child. I will buy these again for sure.

The original Sundowner was my first real investment in a true hiking boot. I have now come full circle over 20 years from the gyration of technical boots, back to the 2015/2016 Sundowner in Hawthorne. I love it once again. Having just returned from 3 days of hiking in Yellowstone, I can safely say the Sundowner is back, and in my opinion, much much better than the original. Stable, grippy, light, well constructed, allows for lacing to really batten down, or keep light. This boot looks amazing off the trail as well. Love it.

I have had these boots for over ten years, that's right a freaking decade. They were comfortable right out of the box! Perfect for snowy days and dry on the wettest. Caution: The soles are glued on so if you are lazy like me and use your right toe to help lever off the left boot, eventually, you will pull the sole off the boot(s). So unlace and take your time or you might have to pay a cobbler a fast $20 to re-glue. Other than that, the things wear like iron and feel like cashmere. Enjoy!

I bought these as am early Cristmas gift for my boyfriend and he loved them so much that we ended up ordering a pair for his brother's Christmas gift as well! They are comfortable and keep feet warm.

The Sundowners are great boots-the best I've ever owned. I used to work at an outdoor supplies store and had the opportunity to compare the features of other premium brands. The Sundowners are an excellent mid-weight boot, with a tough full-grain (not suede or split leather) leather upper, a Gore-Tex membrane for permanent waterproofing (not just water resistance), and fast, secure lacing. My first pair lasted through 10+ years of mountain, desert, and casual wear. As of this writing, the same boots were priced about $30 less on Amazon.com with free Prime shipping and more size & width selections.

I've had my same pair of Vasque Sundowners for 17 years. Between casual wear and over some pretty rough trails I put countless miles on them and they have held up excellently. I've had them resoled once and having worn out the second set of soles I have decided to retire them and get a new pair. I will stick with the Sundowners!

I've had these for 15 years and hiked them through the San Gabriels, the Sierra Nevadas, Joshua Tree, Big Sur, Texas Hill Country, and Los Angeles, New York, and Austin among others. I've used them hiking, climbing, motorcycling, and around the office and these are hands down the best boots I've ever worn. I can't believe these things have lasted as long as they have, and been as comfortable as they have. As soon as my size comes into stock, I'll be the proud owner of a second pair. Well worth the money and I probably won't buy another kind of boot.

I have had these boots for 14 years and they just wore out. Several summers, doing trail construction and hiking they have been my only shoes. Honestly, these boots are one of the best value purchases I have ever made. I'm back for another pair.

This is a high quality, great looking boot but seems to run a little long and with its roomy toe box is a poor fit for my narrow foot (C).

Ordering these boots is a bitter/sweet experience for me. I've had my current pair of Sundowners for 24 years (!) so hanging them up is a bit sad. Needless to say they have held up incredibly well with daily use for many years and weekly use for the past few years. Buying the same boot was a no-brainer as I obviously couldn't have asked for more from a pair of boots. I highly recommend the Sundowner - you'll get your money's worth!

These are great - a bit stiff at first, but just wearing them around for a bit of walking has made them very comfortable. They look great as everyday shoes, are definitely waterproof & warm so far in a VT winter. I have yet to try them for hiking, but I anticipate they will work well.
