Ready to wear straight from the box! These are terrific shoes. My feet are very particular, and this pair was comfortable from the start. They may not be the most attractive pair of shoes I own, but my feet are happy. I have narrow feet and Keens run wide, but the "bungee-style" rather than laces afford a good fit without the hassle of loose ties. Sizing with Keens is a little tricky. I ordered these in my size, and I think that I could have ordered a 1/2 size smaller. (Again, I think the bungee cord takes care of the slack.) Great shoes, great price, and the absolute greatest shoe store--Zappos! Why would you shop anywhere else?

3 days straight out of the box - 3 days of a music festival through sun, heat, cold, rain, and these shoes held up beautifully. Walking MILES, not much sitting. It's a great shoe. The arch COULD be higher, but at the same time that may have blistered my foot with all the walking. They're amazing.

Keen Taos - This is one exceptionally good shoe I am happy to own. Not only is the style appealing but the comfort and support makes it so wonderful. I first wore my Taos around the house one day for about an hour. They felt so comfortable I knew these were a keeper so the next time I wore them was a full day antique shopping. My feet usually get tired after a day of slow walking but at the end of the day my feet felt as good as when I started out that morning. I try to read all the reviews on any of the shoes I am interested in because they are so helpful in making my decision to order . Thanks to all of you and thanks to Zappos for such great service and having sales on shoes so I can purchase a quality pair of shoes for a more reasonable price then dept. stores.

Keen Taos- Originally I ordered my usual size 7.5 only to find that they were too large, so I exchanged them for a size 7. The fit is better but still a lot of slippage in the heel. With that said, I still think they are one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I have ever owned...

Very comfy, very sturdy shoes. They breathe well, and my feet never feel too sweaty or gross in them. Only down fall is that I did get a little cut up on my right heel during the break in process. Keen is a wonderful shoe brand, and Zappos is the very best place to order from!

Keen's Taos - These are GREAT shoes...comfort from the moment I put them on! Ordered 1/2 size larger which worked perfect for me. Best of all, Zappos is extraordinarily customer friendly! I got the shoes in 2 days for no shipping! I have returned shoes in the past with no problem. Zappos is the BEST EXAMPLE of online shopping service!

Keen most comfy! I love this super comfy and stylish shoe. I own 4 different styles of Keen and this is one of the best. Very cushy and supportive at the same time. They look so cute with casual skirts and dresses as well as pants and jeans. Keen has really caught on and is all the rage! Stores have a hard time keeping them in stock. If you have any hesitation about Keen or Zappos, be assured you will get hooked on both! PLEASE order 1/2 size larger than you normally wear for a great fit.

Love My Keen Taos - After realizing that this shoe ran about a half size large, I settled into a pair of the brown/red Taos. They are much cuter than they look, and amzaingly comfortable, anatomical footbed makes it feel like a running shoe. You can definitely do light hikes and scrambling in these shoes, with or with out a thin sock. I would go with a similar product, the Boulder, if you are planning to get these wet alot. The Taos is water resistent and cleans up in a jiffy, but takes a while longer to dry out.

Perfect for work/play - My employer requires us to wear "closed-toed" shoes, even when doing wet work on boats in the Florida summer heat. I got tired of soaking and ruining tennis shoes, and wanted more of a "sandal" look than the typical water shoe. This is the perfect compromise. I was a little nervous ordering my 6.5 size online without trying them on first, but they fit perfectly. And thanks to Zappos for their speedy delivery and customer service!

Excellent! Extremely comfortable and true to size. Literally no breaking in period. I walk several miles every day and these shoes provide fantastic support and comfort. I now own 3 pairs of Keens (and counting!).

A winner! My favorite pick from three Keens! I had Zappos send me Newport H2, Taos and Boulder so I could compare them and pick my favorite. I was after an alternative to tennis shoes for the summer, something I could wear without socks that would breathe like a sandal and wear like an athletic shoe, plus get wet without it being a big deal. All 3 models are waterproof, according to a label stitched to the straps, so that was good news. I rejected Newport for looks (proportions looked a bit like a clown shoe, all wide and round in the toe) and fit (back strap sort of a pain to get to lie flat and slip on over heel). The Boulder and the Taos models feel a lot alike. Boulder definitely lets in a bit more breeze, but only a bit. Taos has a softer, more suede-like footbed, which felt a bit more absorbent to me. Boulder's footbed is more smooth, like a watershoe, and seemed inclined to make me sweat more, or feel sweat more. Taos has the fewest openings, and the smallest openings, which I viewed as a drawback when looking at the pictures. Summer is hot and sticky and I want help, darn it. But summer is also prickly and buggy and full of small rocks and mulch, so given that they both let in a breeze pretty well, the Taos started to seem more practical to me. Lastly, Boulder is all synthetic, and looks it. Perhaps I just like the hiking shoe look more than the running shoe look, but Boulder reminded me somewhat painfully of some moonboots I had in the 70's. Probably a personal thing-- I wouldn't want to run down any of the three Keens I tried, as they all fit great and felt supportive. I t just happens that Taos is the shoe for me.

My Keens - These shoes have been on my feet since they arrived. Extremely comfortable from the git go, a truly "ventilated" shoe. Great rain or shine. Wtih or without socks. Supportive footbed. I will buy more Keen shoes.

Keen Taos - Didn't like this one as the heel guard seems to only come halfway up my heel so my heel slips out when I walk. Might just be my feet though! If the heel were a little better I would have LOVED to keep this shoe as it seems very capable of handling rugged activities. Alas, I am sending it back and getting the Newport H2 instead.

I love Keens and own several pairs: Seattle, Providence, Newport, Bronx Mesh - something for every season. It is obvious that I'm a big fan of Keen. These are probably the most comfy keens yet, and that's saying a lot. Super ultra cushy from the moment you set your heel on the ground. Supportive too. Something between a sneaker and a sandal. The fuzz/loden color is very nice and neutral. As with every single pair of Keens I own, order 1/2 size up from your usual size. The only other time my feet say "Ahhhhh" like this is when I put my cold toes into a pair of warm UGGs during the cold chicago winters. All I have to say is GET THESE SHOES. Oh, and Zappos rocks.

Keen taos - I love keen and this shoe is no exception. It runs 1/2 size larger than normal and can be adjusted to fit snug in the arch. I wear a size 8 and it would fit perfectly with a thin sock. I bought it for the heel protection, thinking river hikes, caving etc.

If you try it on, you'll buy it - If you thought other KEEN shoes were comfortable, oh my gosh!! These are like hiking in slippers. They are my best fitting, true-to-size KEEN shoe that I own, and I own three styles with the fourth on its way.

Great shoe! I am a big Keen fan...this is my sixth pair. I was first introduced to keen shoes in Colorado last summer. This shoe is great to wear around, I wear a "no show" sock with it to keep my feet warm in the winter. It is comfortable, easy to slip on and off and (most important) fits my inserts.

A Winner With Some Caveats - I own a pair of the Keen standard H20 shoe and love them, so when I was looking for a better supporting light hiker for a trip to Egypt, these seemed to fit the bill. Overall, they are as comfortable. Well-built and have all the features I love in my amphibious shoes. The biggest problem is the lock-in tie. After just a few wearings, they no longer "lock-in". They constantly get loose and must be tightened up. Somewhat annoying!

Score overall: 4.5 - A very comfortable shoe -- I wanted a shoe that was almost sandal like but with a closed heel so that my orthotics would not slip out. I ordered a half size larger than normal to accommodate orthotics and that was a good decision. I own Taos in both fuzzy/loden & the bison/red. As a color, fuzzy is more grey-beige in person than it appears to be on screen. Not bad, however, I expected something more beige. One shoe of one pair did have a stitch that bothered me -- a piece of foam skin over that stitch took care of it. I have not previously owned Keen shoes & I think a made a great choice especially since it was a leap of faith. I'd buy them again.
