I'm in the electrical field, with all the climbing and walking and such these are very comfortable. BUT the soles start cracking after appx 7 months! When they change the soles I will try them again.

I bought this boots to work in an assignment overseas while wearing civilian clothes. I am used to working in boots 12-16 hours a day as a military member with over 10 year in service and didnt want to wear the sage green boots with civilian attire. These boots are not comfortable at all. The lining inside the boots is just very uncomfortable and it scratches the skin above the ankles even while wearing socks. The insoles are very poor and hard to stand on all day. Even after changing the insoles the boots were uncomfortable. After 2 months of use thinking I would break them in, I gave up and started using my military work boots with my civilian clothes. Its a shame that I spent this much money for 2 months of use and I dont think I can exchange them or return them. Ive had Timberlands in the past and never once I complained about them until now. I hope they change the materials that they are using and even the craftmanship since you can see the glue used all around the outside of the boots near the sole. I can see why people complain about the wearing out too quickly since after only 2 months you can see that the sole is very worned out. When I see better reviews for this boots Ill maybe think about buying another pair again but for now Im staying away from these. Hope this helps in making your decision...

After only having these boots for five months I wondered why my feet were getting wet. I looked at the bottom of the boots to find that the sole on one boot is completely cracked across and completely through and the other sole is about half way cracked. I stopped at the store where I bought them and was told that there was no warranty/guarantee for this defect. I guesss I will be looking for a new pair of boots made by another company now. Dave T.

Do not buy these boots, unless you want to keep buying new socks. Rubber soles will crack in about 6 months. They should have used cork instead of rubber. I have 2 pair, both cracked in the same spot.

Safety shoes are required for work. I have own many kinds and makes. These are the most comfortable shoes. Wears almost like a athletic shoe. However the soles cracked after 6 months. Very expensive boot for a short duration.

I work for a water department and have loyally worn Timberland boots, specifically pro series for over 10 years now. I buy an average of 2 pairs a year and they usually last about 8 months in the harsh conditions I work in. But now I may just be done with Timberland. In the past the outer sole of the boot where you bend down to work would always crack starting about 6 months in. But now I notice that with my last two pairs, that the inner sole at the heel area compresses easy and has no comfort to it. Last pair it was my left heel and this pair it is my right heel. As a military veteran I am use to standing long hours on my feet and it has never bothe3red me, until now. I believe that there has been a change in manufacturing or use of cheaper materials and for that reason I feel I will need to find another brand. Pretty sad since I have always liked the immediate fit and comfort of Timberland boots going so far as I have worn them to casual nights out as well, but not the last two pair. I figure I have spent well over $3,000.00 dollars on my Timberlands in the last 10+ years and they have done me right in the past with comfort so I'm sorry to leave them.

I have owned 5 pairs of this boot and EVERY pair had the sole split where it bends when you step. My local Timberland sales rep told me "don't bend your feet". Very ridiculous!! I have switched to Wolverine, and will not look back. Timberland had swapped out one set for free, and admitted material defects. How often do I need to do this though? Fix it, or loose more customers.
