If you're a chef or line cook, look no further. I've been wearing these for years, but just snagged a pair of the Professional Birk Clogs. The diff is that they have a bit of a back to them so your heel is covered. Nice slip resistance.

Hurt my feet

I've worn this clog and Super-birkies for the last 24 years Not sure how many pares I've gone through. They generally last about a year and a half. The look sort of funny but are very functional in a professional kitchen. You can pull the insole and wash them quickly. They helped me a lot with pack pain when working long hours. They will eventually crack in different places.

These shoes are HUGE. I have two pairs of Birks sandals and they are sized nothing the same!

first impression. . .keep in mind that I am US size 14/and these are birk size 47. i usually wear vivobarefoot for dress shoe, hiking shoe, everyday shoe. needed clog for professional kitchen work. my foot is rather wide as in medium to E width, these clogs seem to work with width. these seem to fit like a glove. . .interested to see how these break-in, if at all. couple of toes barely touch tip of footbed (read: not the tip of the clog, but hit the tip of the insert); footbed in this shoe is not cork. . .so we will see considering that these are rubber internal footbed. taking the gamble on bicycle commuting and working in kitchen on these for extended periods of time. note: if you are a US size 14.5, then i recommend that you order the 48 as the 47 may be short in length.

These would probably be great, but the 39 was too short, and the 40 was way too big.

Great support for standing all day. Comfortable work shoe.

wear for 3x12 hour hospital shift for past 20 years. i got a pair at the start of my career, replaced the insoles every 2-3 years, and replaced the first pair at around ten years (inside hospital walking doesn't wear them fast at all and i don't wear them other than for work) i can no longer wear "shoes" because everything crowds my toes. not these. they are washable. replace the insoles as the start to get uncontrollably smelly or break down from washing. the first pair i had were anti static but these don't seem to be, which is fine. i don't mind a shock sometimes. most cost effective footwear item i have ever gotten. thanks birkenstock

Got these one size small because I hate the heel slipping and slapping back. Just don't. Go with your normal shoe size. Even after breaking them in I still have discomfort from slight toe cramp. My mistake. Still very comfy for standing on my feet all day!

Excellent shoe for anyone that spends long hours on their feet. Easy to clean, comfy and long lasting.

My wife wears them to work as a nurse. She wanted to return them until we read that they are designed to fit loosely. Now she loves them! Spends 12hr days in them all week.

I work at the kitchen for years, long hours standing, a lot of walking but this is my favorite chef clogs off all time and its really worth the price because they last for years. What I always do is just buy me a comfortable insoles. I got the one from new balance (motion control), very comfy and they really fit perfectly on this shoes. So far this is my number one clog of all time. I tried so many brands but this is my top 1 work clogs.

I had been suffering from plantar fascitis for a long time due to long hours of standing and walking at work. To make things worst, I was diagnosed of bone spurs to my Rt foot. I got these from wearing crocs that do not give good arch support. As soon as I step my feet on the floor in the morning, my feet were in pain. And pressure on my heels were excruciating. I tried insoles but didn't work for me. One of my co-nurses suggested these Birckenstock clogs. And true enough, it made wonders to my feet and and back! I do not suffer from burning and aching pain. I don't feel the old pain on my feet and back. Well worth the price. I will be buying for pairs of sandals and boots.

I have very wide feet (EEE) and even though I have to get a larger than normal size for my high instep they fit great. I hurt my back in 1989 and needed shoes that I could just slip on. I found these locally and fell in love with them. I still have the original pair with new insoles. I was a NICU/ER nurse for over 10 years. They feel great, tolerate 12 hour shifts and all the trash, wet, needles etc found on the floor during a Trauma or Code. They hold their shape, tread and insoles lasted me for five years. I wear socks most of the time but have pair that I did not wear socks with and the insoles lasted about 2½ years. I still own the originals but have two other pairs. I would recommend these to any one needing sturdy water resistant shoes. The soles are thick with excellent tread. Because I have wide feet with high arches and high instep they are a treasure and feel they do run a bit wider than most shoes.

I bought some leather Birkenstocks when I developed plantar fasciitis and they gave me the most relief of any shoe. Then I wanted a pair I could wear around the house and in the studio would be easy to slip on and off and keep clean. I bought these and now own two pair. I love them. They are so comfortable and when my PF flares up, they are the only shoes I wear. They also seem nearly indestructible. Okay little style but i don't. care. one of my pairs is raspberry that isn't available anymore in the professional and that's it's for style. My only negative is that they are warm in the summer.

Based on the size chart, I ordered size 38 (for 7-7.5 size feet). It was very large. I went to a store and tried on other sizes. I actually needed size 37 with an additional foot support cushion in order for the shoes to fit.

They do run a bit large so read a lot of sizing info before ordering, but the width is perfect. It took probably 3 or 4 weeks to fully break in, which did feel like a really long time, BUT it was well worth it. I have been wearing these for the past three months now and my feet and legs do not feel sore at the end of the day. I am a sous chef and work on my feet at least 11 hours per shift five days a week. Very slip resistant and they still look brand new. They get stinky quick though because of the lack of air movement, but they are very easy to clean and make like new. I can see how they aren't for everyone because of the long break in period. But, if your up for the challenge and want a solid work shoe with strong support that can handle the worst spills in a kitchen without soaking through to your socks and just wipes away with a wet paper towel(grease, chicken juice, sauces, and fish water) this is it.

Love them. They are comfortable all day long. I have Plantar Fasciitis and I do get the support I need to prevent pain. A warning to people who haven't had these before...they are heavy! Way heavier than Crocs...but worth every penny.

These are great! I work in a kitchen and these keep me comfortable the whole shift. Slip proof, easy to clean, so comfortable. Only negative, not the prettiest shoe, but hey, who's looking? My Doc's were too heavy and these are the perfect shoe. I did order a size smaller, usually an 8, but ordered a 7 and they're perfect!
