Heed the advice; these shoes are larger than advertised. Be sure to order a smaller size. While these are the exact shoes I had in mind to buy, even with an insert I still have to wear thick socks, and I bought half a size smaller than my usual shoe size. Also, I find this generally true with classic Clark's shoes--be prepared to break in the shoe around the ankles and instep; wear thicker socks than you normally do in the beginning.

The desert boots were promptly delivered and they looked exactly as the picture did. My husband was happy with the quality and feel of them when he opened them on Christmas. They remind him of his fun teenage years.

Clarks is a brand that speaks for itself. These shoes are very comfortable and well made. The only drawback is the black suede attracts dirt and lint like no other. However these are very stylish shoes and I plan on buying other colors.

Great pair of shoes. My only ding would be the laces. They are too thin. However, I've bought another color after getting these... so that should say it all.

This a good shoe. It keeps your feet warm. To me everyone should have a Clarks.

This shoe is very nice. It is very comfortable and goes with anything. It is very comfortable and gives your feet support. I would advise that you buy a suede cleaning kit because if liquid, polish etc. touches the shoes it will be very hard to clean but otherwise this is one of the best shoes I have ever worn. One more thing: buy it at your right size because this shoes stretches.

Slightly Mixed Review - These are great looking boots but I will say that there comfort level is not the best. Great for a 2-3 hour jaunt around the neighborhood but any longer than that, good luck.

My new favorite shoe - Just discovered Clarks Desert Boots and they are quickly becoming my new favorite shoes. Awesome style, great comfort. Lace them loose. Felt a lot bigger than my normal size. I'm usually an Adidas Originals kind of guy; the crazier the color the better, but these add a nice retro, subtle touch to my wardrobe.

I read the reviews on these shoes for weeks before making my purchase, and I was only increasingly sold on them every time I looked at them. First of all, the shoe fit perfectly. I ordered a half size up like some people suggested, but they were too big. So I ordered my correct size, 10, and they really do fit like a glove, and they really are pretty comfortable. Second, I am speechless at how fast Zappos is. I ordered on Saturday and received them Monday. When I called to exchange them for the proper size, I received THAT pair Tuesday! And all of the shipping was done for free. I can only say long live Zappos and may you be continuously be prosperous.

Make me feel like a hippy - From what I hear, if you've ever worn a chukka boot, you've worn this shoe. For those who haven't, it's very, very quiet. I kinda feel like creeping and lurking and sneaking up on people while wearing them. I ordered my size, and while they do feel loose-ish in dress socks or thin cotton, fall-weight cotton socks fill them out nicely. A boot that doesn't feel like a boot, no wonder they were all over the seventies! I like this boot and will now be adding it to my staple of shoes.

The best in the world - I am originally from London, England and I've been wearing Clarks for a very long time. As far as comfort, excellent and style, words cannot describe. I still have pair since 2001 and still going strong. These boots can go with any type of dress code from jeans, slacks even shorts. Keep up the good work Clarks, love you like cook food...

Always Original - A newer version or style of anything is never better than the originals. Thanks Zappos from allowing me to have a pair of the original desert boot Clarks.

Clean, Sharp, Classic - They look good. They're casual, with just the right amount of 'dress'. They look good with jeans and khakis. They're a great alternative to the trendy 'athletic-inspired' shoe. They're classic. You gotta love Clarks. Plus Steve McQueen wore 'em. Need I say more!?! (I will say one more thing though: Even though the shoe basically fit, following the suggestion to buy a size smaller, it's kind of tight in the toe, but slips off the heel. It's a minor problem, but should definitely be fixed.)

Clark's Classic Desert Boots - After wearing out classic tan Desert Boots from wearing them nearly every day in Afghanistan, I've ordered two more pair for Iraq: A tan, and a black for more "formal" occasions. It's good to see that Clarks are still as durable and comfortable as my first pair...back in the 60s!

Feels good! I have been looking for this shoe for a while and when I found it on the website I couldn't believe that they had them. The price and the speed that they came in were awesome! They fit great and look awesome with anything.

Excellent - Great looking shoe. I've been searching all the malls and Clarks stores for this model and color. Nothing. Then a friend referred me to Zappos.com. They got it and the size I wanted. Came out cheaper plus FREE SHIPPING when I bought it online. Came in EXCELLENT condition. I will DEFINETLY buy shoes and recommend Zappos.com to my friends.

Clark's almost classic desert boot - This man's desert boot is the closest you will find to the original '60s classic. If you loved the original, you will love these. If you don't remember the originals, you will love these anyway! Great with jeans, khakis or cords, and in a variety of fabulous colors. You'll want them in all the colors!

Great throwback shoes - Like going back in time. Very comfortable except my feet are older now...may need to try heel gel inserts to absorb a bit more shock. Feet stay cool and cozy. Only minus is the flimsy laces (also just like they were in the past), but replacements are e-z. Will buy dark brown too. Zappos is tops.

The right thing - The retro cool look of this shoe was perfect... they go with blue or black jeans, or cuffed slacks. Dressed up or down, they work. The fit is slightly large, which is good since they did not come in the 1/2 size that I would normally buy. Very comfortable right out of the box; I'll use them a lot. I looked and couldn't find these anywhere in stores.

Just love them - They are great. Classy, casual, and fun to wear.

So long to the desert boot - I have worn this venerable shoe for more than thirty five years. My father wore his for more than fifty. I am very sorry Clarks is discontinuing this style.

Comfortable - The shoe is very comfortable. I own a lot of shoes and I have been wearing these quite a bit.

Clarks are the best - I could have used some care instructions at the time of purchase, but other than that, these boots comfortable and good looking. I wear them all over.
