Can't go wrong with these classics. I've had a pair of Clarks for about 6 years, while I was still in high school. It's great to see how they've come along, especially among the hip hop heads. Getting props from Wu-clansmen did a lot to help out the status of these shoes in the eyes of the urban set. All I can say is that, you don't have a real pair of wally's unless you've got a pair of Clarks.

Freaker sneakers are cool again! I owned so many pairs of these shoes when I was in high school from 77-81 (grew out of most of them!). I bought my last pair in '85 and still wear them every week! The gum rubber is a bit worn and my big toe is starting to peak out a bit, but I love them. My wife and friends have tortured me for years for wearing old "freaker sneakers" as we used to call them but I have outlasted all my critics! Ha! They are cool again and a lot more expensive! I imagine my next pair will last me until I really start geezin, so what the hell! I think I'll get another pair, in the natural color, of course.

Clark's Wallabee Boot - Quality workmanship. Comfortable, but not as compfortable as Clark's Desert Trek; the heel is a little narrow.

Bees Wax Leather - Jackets and trousers are more comfortable when they are lined. The same is true with shoes. Bees wax leather is not lined like the suede. For that reason I much prefer the suede. Good socks make all the difference. Comfortable knock-about shoes.

I agree, Beeswax leather staining is shoddy - I agree with the previous reviewer, the Beeswax leather staining is rather shoddy in my opinion. The color is not saturated enough, so it fades at any pressure points once the shoes are worn. I thought maybe I received a bad pair, but I guess that's just how they are. This is my first pair of Wallabees with the newer packaging and insole graphics. They feel slightly smaller than my older pairs but still slightly larger than the marked size.

4 stars - The shoe is slightly uncomfortable for walking or standing after a 1/2 hour of time. And, I mainly use them in that situation. I just try to block it out.

Classics but painful - Although they look cool and comfortable, the rigid binding at the top of the shoe cuts into your ankles and hurts. After they’re broken in they should be OK. The color is also not as deep a brown as shown on the website.

I Love This Boot! I had wanted a pair of these for a while. Now that I have them I couldn't be happier. If I had one complaint, it woulc be that in my opinion they size a little long. The width is fine, but I sized down by half a size to begin with, and they still feel a bit long. No big deal, I LOVE them! You should buy some.

Awesome Shoe...Awesome Service - I just recently purchased a pair of Clark's Wallabee boots and am thrilled with what I got. They are the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. I also received my order two days earlier than expected. Definitely will buy shoes through Zappos.com again.

Ankle Rub - Love the shoes a few week in, but initailly rubbed annoyingly in the middle of my ankle. However, once the leather softened a bit, the shoes are great. Love the look -exteremely comforatble

Wallabee's are fantastic for icy conditionsl - I have several comments about the Wallabee Boot (and Shoe also): 1) They are very comfortable-like moccasins. The soft, flexible upper wraps around your foot nicely, the sole is soft and springy, very comfortable. (When they get old, the sole becomes hard, but after walking in them a few minutes, you get used to it, and they become comfortable.) 2)They seem to be sized slightly large. I need to wear thicker socks to make my size 9's fit well. They're loose-fitting with thin socks. 3)The shoe strings don't seem to want to stay tied tightly. I need to re-tie them frequently. 4) The crepe sole is absolutely fantastic on ice. It's the least-slippery sole I've ever found. I use these shoes whenever it's icy. Obviously, you still need to be careful, you can still slip on the ice in these shoes, but these are by far the best I've ever found. It almost seems like I have to try to make them slide on ice. Most of the time they want to grab on and stay put. 5) I prefer the boot over the shoe. I think it wraps around your foot better and feels more comfortable. Also, in snowy/icy weather, the lower cut shoe lets snow in over the top, while the higher topped boot offers more protection and allows them to be used in more inclement weather. 6)The only reason I didn't rate the shoe 5 stars is because I get tired of having to re-tie them frequently.

Great Service - Zappos rushed my order at no extra cost for being a first time buyer. I was really impressed that Zappos did that and I will definately buy shoes online from them again in the future. Oh yeah, and the shoes rock.

They run too large - I usually wear an 8.5 for all my shoes and sometimes a 9, but I ordered the 8.5 wallabee's and they apparently run very big. You should give a heads up on that for your internet buyers. But other than that, I really like your shoes.

Classic, Cool, and Comfortable - I've been looking for a long time for a shoe in this style that does not have a lining because my feet get extremely hot and uncomfortable in a lined shoe. This boot has an unlined leather upper that easlily and quickly accepts punch holes in the instep to add additional cooling ventilation.

The only problem I found with this shoe is keeping it clean. It seems to pick up dirt quickly so watch out it you're buying it for looks!

I am astonished at all the positive reviews here for this decades-old shoe. I must be one of the few customers who rate this shoe poorly, even though I think I am assessing it fairly. First, the positives: The leather on the beeswax model seems to be of a heavy, good quality and the distressed patina is quite becoming. In addition, the shoes are nearly silent when you walk, so you won’t have to worry about announcing your presence in quiet areas like libraries or churches or classrooms. In all other respects, the shoe was a disaster for me. The leather is STIFF and has no ability to stretch or conform to the foot. What’s worse is that the top edge of the boot (where the leather is stiffest) rubs right against the ankle bone on both sides of the foot, making it extremely uncomfortable to walk. I can only imagine the blisters I will have later this week! The heel of the boot and the instep are too narrow for a medium foot, yet the toebox is wide enough so that the foot slides around on the slippery insole. The gummy rubber base is narrow so it feels like one is standing on a balancing beam. My feet did not feel securely planted on the ground. This is not the shoe for weak ankles--I can see someone rolling his/her ankle easily in this shoe. The shoe is 1/2 size larger than its size indicates, mainly because the structure of the shoe is loose and it has no support where it ties into the sole. Even if you get it 1/2 size smaller, it will be very tough to get your foot in because the leather is so inflexible. The leather will eventually stretch, but it doesn’t become softer or more conforming. I imagine that most of my criticism could be remedied with the suede uppers, but I am not so certain. In any case, Zappos return policy is great so you will have no problems seeing for yourself if any of my criticisms will apply to you.

Not quite what I remembered - I used to wear desert boots and Wallabees all the time when I was in school at Jurassic U., and remembered that they (along with the old JC Penny Wallabees) were about the most comfortable shoes going. The desert boots (returned) which I ordered ran WAY too small to size. These fit well, but ordered them in leather, rather than the suede that I used to buy. They start out STIFF, and rub at the ankles, but are becoming more friendly with use. The clear gum sole means that even wearing them around the house for a few hours renders them unreturnable (zappos is GREAT, but maybe not THAT indulgent) because the dirt, even a bit, shows up markedly on the bottoms. Zappos return policy and shipping terms and speed are incredible!

Not a walking shoe - As long as you use this shoe for neighborhood parties or trips to the market you should be fine. Not a walking shoe. Width to me is a bit narrow. I never thought of myself as having a narrow foot but this shoe makes me feel as if I might. The sole is totally comfortable and feels like you're walking on marshmellows. Great on short jaunts.
