Ryka N-Gage Studio- High-tops on shoes give me bruises on the inside of my ankles. It is hard to do the particular exercise when you lean to one side to stretch inner thighs, because my ankle pushes down on the high tops (hurting), so that particular exercise can't be done effectively. I put in an arch insole which I purchased from "Walking" store which made the shoe a bit more comfortable on my arches. For some reason the sides of my feet hurt when working out (step aerobics) with this shoe- I've had the shoes about 3 weeks, and would have thought they would have been broken in better by now. I had a pair of Enlight II's for a short time (before one of the shoestring loops broke off of the shoe and I had to return), and they aren't high tops, but are a little higher than regular shoes- those are a better height for me.

Great feel; not tough enough - I am pretty disappointed. It fits great, looks great, and supports my ankles well. I play Wallyball 2 times a week for 3 hours each time, and in the front part of the shoe, the rubber sole is peeled back about an inch after only wearing them for 4 months.

Shin Splints - I guess I have to be the naysayer here, but I'm certain that when I tried wearing this model Ryka, they gave me shin splints. I've Jazzercised for years, without any injury, except for the two times I've tried wearing Rykas. They must not provide enough arch support for the over-pronator. I know someone else that came to the same conclusion without a comment from me, so that sealed it for me. I'm going back to my old stand-by, New Balance. Just wish they offered the ankle support a la Ryka.

These are too high for aerobic activities, and caused uncomfortable ankle friction. They're very stiff, not enough cushioning for high impact activities such as step or kickboxing.

Too High, Not Enough Forefront Cushioning - I had the now discontinued Enlight II's and loved them. The N-Gage Studio doesn't even compare. There's an unequal amount of cushion in the front vs. the back, creating a feel more like a running shoe. The heel is higher, similar to a Nike Air. Studio shoes should have more cushioning in the forefront, and these just don't cut it. A low quality product, very disappointing.

They are as uncomfortable as they are ugly! I can totally care less about looks for workout shoes, but I cannot overlook lack of comfort! These shoes were too high and stiff around the ankle, causing annoying friction. They were promptly returned. If you can find it, I suggest the Enlight II.
