Close but not perfect - Pro: Nice looking, well made, INITIAL comfort is great. Con: Wear with thick socks. The rear of the shoe over the course of the day seems to rub/cut into the Achilles area. (Though I will often be in them up to 12-13 hours).

I love the looks of the shoe and the color and softness of the leather. The problem is that they are so soft that in a few times that I have worn them the crease on the top of the shoe when you walk has stretched out the shoes so much that I wish I had bought a 1/2 size smaller and the shoe is now too big. I love the shoe and only wish I had known to buy a smaller size. BUT, overall it is a GREAT shoe if it only fit and the most comfortable shoe I have ever had.

Johnston and Murphy Schuler Bike - The leather lining of the shoe at the heel of the left shoe tore the first or second time I wore them. Other wise I love them. They are comfortable and good looking.

This shoe is ok, nothing spectacular. At the same time, I feel the overall quality of all shoes in this price range is decreasing, so in that respect I'd have to say it's slightly above average. I bought these to replace the exact same make/model that I bought about 4 or so years ago. The originals, bought in a department store were less expensive than these, can't believe the price went up. The originals have a "walking on are type of quality" to them, the leather color was more like that in the photo and the texture was more rich. These replacements are feeling cheaper, more stiff and hard, and look it too.

I've had these shoes for 14 months now. I wear them to work M-Thurs at a desk job, so I don't have a huge amount of mileage on them. They're quite comfortable, but not so durable. I had them just a week or two and scuffed toe a bit, and the sole stitching on the at the toe came apart. The shoe didn't fall apart, but I'm definitely missing the contrasting stitch. Also, after 14 months, I just noticed that the insole on both shoes is starting to disintegrate - there are cracks in the insole and it feels like the padding is worn down. The soles show hardly any wear, and the leather seems durable, scuffs on the toe are not particularly noticeable. For the price, I'd expect them to last a little longer, but I don't really regret the purchase.

Initially these shoes were a good fit but after a couple of days were the inner sole compressed making the shoes loose fitting. Adding an insert fixed the fit problem, still comfortable.

I would hardly call these narrow. The toe box is rather larger and even with them completely laced up flap to flap they were still loose. Felt as roomy or more so than standard width shoes. Quality seemed good and leather was soft.

Comfortable BUT cut wide - I bought a pair of these thinking they'd offer the same support as the J&M Mearle Mocs, but found out that the Shuler Bikes offer the same (phenomenal!) *padding* but do not give you the same support, especially is your foot is average in width. They are, of course, built beautifully and of superb quality. If you need a bit more support, try the Mearle Mocs: they're worth the difference in price. Your feet will be grateful.

Good shoe with really nice styling. However, after less than a month of non daily use, both shoes have developed a creak in the heel that makes noise with every single step. Different surfaces don't matter. The insole is glued in place, so it can't be removed.

These shoes look beautiful! However, The heel is thicker than most dress shoes, and my knees and upper leg hurt significantly at the end of the day. The heel makes you feel like you are pushing up out of the shoe as you walk. The shoe creates a very unnatural gait, and you will hate yourself, like I do, for thinking these shoes would work. Now I have lost the money.

Very nice affordable comfortable shoes. The materials seem a little made in China now and i would pay more for better materials.

These are the best shoes for wearing all day on your feet, and looking stylin'! This is the second pair/color I picked up and the first time I wore them I had a stranger tell me he liked my shoesanother guy. This is a first for me.

This is the only shoe at Johnston & Murphy that is restaurant quality non slip. It's been a staple for 30+ years in our house. Great fit, roomy toe base, easy clean up.

Had to reorder these a half size down, then they were perfect. Good width, not too narrow a toe area, love Florsheims are. Nice leather.

I've learned over the years that footwear is important in my line of work, which is Funeral Directing. These shoes are perfect for all aspects of my job! Stylish and comfortable, the best of both worlds!

My husband is 87 years old still going to work everyday, owner of his own business. Has worn this same style of shoes for years. Sometimes I pick them up at Dillard's sometimes I order them. He lets me know when I need to get him some new shoes. I'd say he is happy with them. I'm thankful you still are making them.

I've worn Shuler Bicycle dress shoes since 2013. It's 2024 and I'm still wearing my original pair in black and my original pair in brown. After about 5 years of daily use (retail work), my local cobbler added new treads and inserts to keep them up-to-snuff. The leather and stitching remains fully intact. Like a perfectly broken in baseball glove, these shoes fit just as great as the first day I bought them. I'm onto two new pairs, which in all honesty feels more like an insurance plan that won't need to be cashed for several more years to come. Call it an understatement " Johnston & Murphy are the best shoes I've ever purchased!

I replaced the exact shoe that I had over 8 yearswhy? They are comfortable, long lasting and held its shape. I have both the black and brown version and needed to get a new shoe due to my job and Johnson & Murphy is where I turned to.
