I usually buy an 8 in Docs, when I buy a taller boot. 8s did not fit on the 3 or 5 eyelet styles.. I went a size down on these to a size 7 and they fit perfectly... Its a nice classic shoe that futs comfortably well

I just got these shoes. They are hard to put on right out of the box, as they are very stiff, but once on, they are extremely comfortable. They run about half a size large, which for me is good, because I only had the option of full sizes; I wear an 8.5 and got an 8 and they fit perfectly. I'm hoping they will soften up a little over time, but if they stay as comfortable as they are right now, I will be wearing them for a long time!

I was dubious about getting these as other size 8’s were a bit short in the toe area, and 9’s were too big. BUT these are great! It’s like having that half size that I needed! The length is perfect. Having padding around the opening makes them sooooo comfortable. The only breaking in is in the width, which isn’t bad at all! Very happy I took a chance with these. Highly recommend- if you love Docs grab a pair of these while you can!

Doc Martens are the perfect work shoe for my job. I am in an office setting but many hours spent loading and loading trucks, and moving supplies. These are great with jeans and khakis, especially in my job where I go from loading dock to offices. They fit great, fantastic color, that goes with everything, Great support and a very sturdy sole. I like the classic oxford look as they are an everyman's shoe!

Go with your size on this. Zappos suggested the next size up but they were too big. These fit great and I like the color and the style.

This is my third pair of Dr. Martens oxfords. I still wear a pair I've had over 25 years. I like them because they're well-made, always fit right, and look good. They don't require breaking in, and they wear like iron.

I buy these type shoes because they hold up and wear well, lasting years and years. My son gets about 10 years out of a pair.

I bought these shoes 6 years ago, and they are still comfortable, although they do look a little beat up, so I'm getting a new pair. I'll keep the old ones too.

Our teen loves these. They are exactly what she wanted. I gave them just four stars for comfort b/c you know Docs, you have to break 'em in. I'm sure she will!

This is my first pair of Dr. Martens. I have a bunion on my right foot, so there was a slight pinch in the right shoe, but after about a week the shoe has broken in nicely and no more pinch. (There is definitely a break-in period with these shoes.) The left was comfortable from the start. These are heavy shoes, a little clunky, but they are well made and sturdy, really beautiful shoes, and I really am starting to love them. According to the Dr. Martens's site, these shoes were made for mail carriers, delivery folks, etc. The soles are a thick rubber-type material, which should keep me upright on a slippery, wintery sidewalk. I expect these shoes to last a very long time, well worth the cost.

Returning for one size smaller than what I usually wear, and I hope they work because I like them a lot! Thanks for the easy return policy, Zappos. ????????

Very stylish, rugged, doesn’t feel cheap at all. The back is still uncomfortable after a lot of use, I have to wear moleskin on my heel to make it not rub, but I’m hoping with more wear that goes away. Overall my best shoe purchase to date, really love the look and feel of them!

They fit great. Good leather. Soft sole. They will be my go to shoe for a long time.

These shoes are very stiff when new but after broken in are comfortable and can wear with most anything. They also last a really long time so is well worth the investment, and they get better looking over time. I recommend wearing with medium to thick socks especially when new to provide a little cushion for such a stout shoe.

Awesome fit. I've owned several pairs of Doc Martin's over the years and I have to say, these are probably the most comfortable ones I've worn. The sole is so much lighter than it used to be and the interior had virtually no break-in period which is something I honestly wasn't expecting. Very comfortable the first time I wore them out. Excellent quality. Built to last and stylish.

Awesome shoe...fell in love the minute I put them on. Unfortunately, they slipped up and down on the back of my feet, even after inserting my orthotics. Sadly had to return.
