Run way too small. If I had known this and not listened to peoples reviews, I would have ordered my normal or one size up.

When I opened up the box I gasped! I bought the Smoke color and they were so beautiful laying there in the box. I dig that they're still made in the USA, unlike some other styles. The quality and craftsmanship is outstanding. I love all my Frye boots, but these by far take the cake. I've worn them everyday since they arrived. Some man in a business suit complimented them in the elevator yesterday. They're just that great. I always order a 1/2 size down for Frye boots/shoes. I had no problem slipping them on. At the end of the day my feet were kind've tired because the toe box is narrow. I suspect after they are broken in, they'll stretch and that won't be a problem. I'm also considering getting heel gel inserts to keep my ankles from slipping (having issues with my socks being eaten.) Other than constantly pulling up my socks, these boots are amazing! I'm having a massive boot crush. Keeping these for life.

My second pair of Frye Harness 8R boots. I think they're awesome! great style, not flashy, high quality, go anywhere, comfortable boots. wear them everyday. I live in Taos NM where one needs a pair or more of decent boots that can go out to dinner or to the barn. these fit the bill. I am a size 8. I got size 8 and the fit it right on. first pair was a bit snug in width but stretched to be perfect with wear. second pair leather is slightly softer (oiled leather) so no breaking necessary. they are my go-to boot. highly recommend.

I have a high instep. After struggling to finally get them on the footbed was too big...cute boot wish they fit..will keep trying other styles because I love the Frye brand.

I love these boots! I have been gathering the courage to invest in Fryes for years, and these were the first pair that I took the plunge on. I originally ordered the 12R, but my calves are somewhere between normal and wide, and I didn't find that length flattering. The 8R hits me at a much better place, and is more versatile anyway I think. After much hemming and hawing, I ordered the tan/dark brown, which was beautiful. I waterproofed them using Frye spray, which has darkened them fairly significantly, so be warned that if you want to preserve the true color of the boots. I didn't mind, and now they appear a bit more like the cognac color. I vacillate between an 8 and 8.5, so I ordered down at an 8. I possibly could have even gone a half size lower but I am not sure I would have been able to slip my foot in! I have very high arches, so it takes a little elbow grease and a lot of foot contortion to get into these boots, but once they are on, they are so comfortable- I would recommend for narrow feet, as the toe box is fairly slim. My heel slips a bit, but I think that is a feature of this style, and not an indication of them being too large. Since buying these a few weeks ago, I have worn them to the office, hiking, moving a friend into college, and so much more. They are incredibly versatile and I get so many compliments. In fact, I am so hooked that I just took the plunge and bought another pair of Fryes... bad for my bank account, great for my wardrobe!

Gorgeous boots! I'm a true 8.5, but wear an 8 in Frye boots. Quality and comfort on this boot were top notch, but sadly the square toe looks terrible on me so these are going back.
