These things are tiny! Choosing my usual size, I could barely get these halfway on my feet! The build quality is nice, though. So I guess they’ve got that going for them.

I wear my Mayaris EVERYWHERE. I can literally walk 20 miles a day in them and my feet/knees never get sore. I've been wearing Birks on and off for 30+ years and they are always my favorite warm-weather shoe. But every Chicago October to April, I don't know what to do. I bought these Bostons in hopes that I'd have the same experience, only with socks. But they just aren't. The arch support is good. The shoes are super comfy. I find them so adorably ugly that they are cute... but I just can't walk very far in them. They are fine for errands or normal life, but I can't do a real walk or hike in them. They are good. I'm glad I bought them. But they aren't the perfect cold-weather shoe like my mayaris are for anything above 35 degrees.

I am going to be doing a lot of traveling and walking this summer so after reading all the absolutely wonderful reviews about the Birkenstock Boston's, I decided to order them. Zappos shipping was incredibly fast and I was super excited to receive the shoes the very next day (yesterday). I normally wear a 9.5 but I wasn't sure how the Birks would fit so I ordered the 40 and 41 (in regular because I have wide feet). The 41 felt big and sloppy and the 40 felt just right. I was immediately impressed with the arch support. However, I wore them all day today - shopping, walking, driving - and my feet were literally throbbing after and hour of shopping. I have two blisters on each foot and the arch of my foot is so, totally aching. I am so sad about this! I opted to wear a light sock today with the hope of preventing any blisters (something that can happen when wearing new shoes for the first time) but that obviously didn't work. I don't understand how so many reviewers said they were able to wear them comfortably right out of the box. I really hope these shoes just need some time to 'break in' and will soon be as comfortable as everyone says they are. Because like I said; I am really, really sad that they caused me so much pain today - I was actually limping. And I obviously can't return them since they're worn. Should these shoes just need a little more time to be broken in (yes, I am going to try them again, in a few days), I will gladly write another review...but for now, they're just not making the cut.

$158 birkenstock Boston Clogs came jammed in a plastic mailer bag NOT in the manufactorers box...they had a big dent in the toe area of one shoe and looked like a return. This is not acceptable. They were full price shoes, no bargain and they can not be gifted.

This shoe was hugely wide.... for my average width feet.

I was really hoping that these would be my new favorite shoes, however that was not the case. Not only did these shoes look different from the photo, but they also appeared to be worn. There was long, black human hair in the shoebox as well as black dog hair, not only in the box but all in the shoes as well. The suede seemed to be worn and scuffed in some areas as well. This was really upsetting and I was not willing to overlook the seemingly worn shoes for $155. I have returned them.

My only complaint is the leather had 3 distinct scratch marks right across the top of one of the shoes. I understand distressed leather, but they looked bad especially being brand new shoes. I couldn’t keep them and look at that.

I have another pair of Birkenstock Boston Soft Footbed in the same size and width that fit perfectly, but this pair was too narrow/slanted in the toe box. My little toes hit the end of the shoe. The shape of the toe box was different than my other pair, with less length/width for the little toes. Very disappointing considering these are one of the few styles of shoes I find comfortable.

These brands that don’t make half sizes are so frustrating. I am a true 11 1/2. I bought the size made for size is 11 to 11 1/2. I have never in my life been able to wear a 12. The Shoe was way, way too small.

The quality of Birkenstocksoft Boston soft footbed is going downhill lately, at least the ones I have purchased from Zappos. Because of a problem with a foot I broke many years ago, these are the only shoes I can wear comfortably. In fact, I have to buy new ones as soon as the footbed begins to flatten, because the pain starts, and only a new pair will alleviate it. I buy at least 8 pair of thes a year, because they're most comfortable when new. Tragically I just returned a new pair; because putting them on was instant pain, and with my hand, I could feel how much flatter and less supportive the insole is. Further, the suede on top falls flat when you're foot isn't in them. What happened to the quality leather which allowed you to slip-on these clogs, without reaching down to hold them open so you can stick your foot in? If these clogs go unreliable on me, it is a major issue for me, so it gives me no pleasure to post a negative review of the only brand/style of shoes I can wear. I just hope Zappos and/or Birkenstock do something about it. People are buying these for comfort, not style. If the comfort and standards are second rate, you notice.

I owned several Birks- so no issues with the fit and quality BUT I received my order today Boston soft footbed- the round metal button on the side broke/ came off and it’s OBVIOUSLY been used and CANNOT be used- so I reported it to zappos rep, she just said sorry. Customer service And quality control for sure went downhill after zappos merged with amazon. Obviously no one inspects returned items specially the not so cheap ones.

Faulty shoes - the rivet attaching the strap kept popping off & made the shoes unwearable

The shoes I got were not even close to this rich brown color. They were more of a light tan. Not the taupe ones, as I have those...they didn't even feel the same. They came from Amazon, in an envelope with a crushed shoe box. Come on Zappos, you used to be top notch. I am wondering if they were fake because the color was sooooooo much lighter and they just seemed off. Returned right away.

Wore one time & got dew from the grass on them. Now they have horrible water stains all over.

I purchased these twice for my son. The 1st pair, which I did return, kept collapsing at the toe. Now this 2nd pair looks scuffed and worn at the toe. He wants to keep them because he is impatient and really wants the shoe for school. I'm not so sure I'm willing to spend $170 on scuffed shoes. Very disappointed in the quality.

What happened to the quality of this brand? The suede is far too flimsy and the footbed feels like cardboard. I used to love my Birks. I've tried on more comfortable lookalikes.

Zappos sent me the wrong width. I ordered Narrow, but they sent me Regular/Wide. They also sent the shoes with NO BOX. They were just in a clear, plastic bag. I like to have the box to keep the shoes organized and dust-free when I'm not wearing them. I've never received a pair of shoes without the box before. Zappos' quality has really gone way, way downhill.

To pay full price for a pair of Birkenstocks and not even receive them in the original box is ridiculous. They were just sent in a paper envelope. I am done doing business with any Amazon owned company. I have more issues with orders than it's worth anymore.

Both L and R were scuffed up on the front and tops.

This item came with no box, no tissue just loose in a random box. They were scuffed and had been worn. Terrible that Zappos would send this item out and waste my time having to return.

Received discolored Boston clogs that were not in their original packing they weren’t even in a box. Definitely appears to be used. I returned them . Zappos needs to inspect items before they send to customers

was sent incorrect size, shoes were packaged VERY strangely for Birkenstocks. customer service was very unhelpful when I called. Too bad, I was a Zappo's customer for many many years. Now I have the inconvenience of a trip to UPS store. Replacement purchased from the REAL Birkenstock store.

I cannot stand how Birkenstock has gone to all "narrow" fittings. The shoes now look cheaper and not anywhere worth the money they are asking for them. Ordered these Boston clogs, which I had in the 1990's, and these look tiny and very unsubstantial. I cannot send them back fast enough. Dang it, Birkenstock! I loved you once!

Uncomfortable

I can wear Birkenstock sandals because I can add holes to the straps to tighten them down. There is no way to tighten this clog style enough for me to wear them. I bought the narrow size and I don't think I have particularly narrow feet. I wish there was a narrower style.
