Wonderful cross trainer - In short, I've never worn a shoe that felt so strong and supportive yet cushioned and cozy. Most of the time you have to choose. You may occasionally find both qualities, but the shoe will either cost a fortune, or look terrible. I don't like the look of this shoe in black, but in white it's excellent. It has a lot more dignity and presence than most cross trainers. The white Brooks Synergy 2 is pretty much the best training shoe ever and it's a great motivator for working out because it makes your feet feel so good. Price and Zappos service can't be beat!

Superb shoe! I ordered a half size larger than normal & am glad I did because the fit is perfect. I usually wear New Balance 6 EE and bought 6.5 EE in this shoe. The arch is perfect for me (a bit higher than a normal foot) and the width is very generous. The only thing I don't like are the laces, but I'm sure I can replace those!!

Best Shoe For People With Foot Problems - I own the Synergy and the Synergy 2. Both have ample room in the toe box which allows for orthotics. These shoes provide excellent cushioning and shock absorption. I have arthritis and bone spurs and have had no problems wearing these shoes. I walk for exercise at least 30 minutes 4 x's a week. I prefer the look of the Synergy over the Synergy 2 but otherwise both shoes are the same. If you need to be on your feet for extended periods or do a lot of walking these are great.

Wonderful shoes! This is the most wonderful, comfortable pair of shoes I have had in years! My dr recommended a pair of shoes without a raised area in the arch. These fit the bill! For the first time in over 2 years I have no leg pain from over pronation. Since these are on sale I just purchased 5 more pair so I am not without them!!

Great shoe for foot problems - I have plantar fasciitis, a very painful foot condition. I've spent alot of money trying to find a shoe I could work in(on my feet 9hrs a day), these are the best! You can't beat the comfort & flexability of this shoe, super light-weight too! I just wish they made these in a 3/4 work boot!

Love this shoe! This is my second pair of Brooks shoes. The first is really 1/2 size too small, so I ordered a whole size bigger for this one, and they are a bit larger than necessary. They are wide enough, and I wear EE. My foot isn't trying to pronate. The shock absorbers work very well too. I will definitely buy this shoe again! I have a lot of problems with my feet and haven't had any since I've been wearing these! Also, Zappo's is the best as I can shop easily in just my size, not wade through all those too narrow!

Brooks Synergy 2 - I suffer with heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. I have been wearing New Balance's recommended styles and continue to have pain about 50% of the time wearing them just to walk around. Don't get me wrong, 50% is better than where I was two years ago, hardly able to stand. I tried this Brooks model and have found that it has lowered my pain to about 25% of the time on my feet. I am using the orthotic liner that came with the shoe. It feels sufficient. The fluid cushioning system appears to be effective when walking, but for heel spurs, it is more about the stabilization of my overpronating and the higher heel to get me tilted forward more and this shoe has been effective for those things.

Great shoe! Great shoe. Very supportive. I have the white version of this shoe.

Brooks Synergy 2 - These are a good walking shoe. Not too comfortable with my orthotics in them. Think I prefer New Balance. Will wear these out however.

Great toe box - I have a skinny heal (5A), a high arch and looong toes so this has been a blessing. The toe box is high enough. I could use even a more narrow heal, but his is the best fit I have found since the original Easy Spirit walking shoe went out of production.

A Good Choice - When I couldn't find my all time favorite shoe (Skechers Premium) I purchased the Brooks Synergy 2. I relied on the advice of other's reviews and ordered a half size larger. This worked out fine. I walk an 8 hour shift each day and I'm pretty hard on shoes, these are working out fine. I found that I needed to add an arch support, but the wide width gave me enough room. Being that the leather is soft, there was no break-in time. I do recommend buying a half size larger than your actual size.

Great shoe for narrow feet. Brooks is the manufacturer that I rely on for great for my size 9-1/2 narrow foot. This leather version is the one I use as my winter walking/exercise shoe.

Happy with the Synergy 2 - I was able to wear these shoes right out of the box. I had plenty of room for my inserts. I stand and walk on concrete floors for eight hours and had no problems wearing them the whole shift the first time.

Comfortable for walking - Walked from W 77th and Broadway to 18th St. and back in NYC without ever having worn these shoes. For brand new shoes, they were amazingly comfortable. I like the higher heel for comfort. Not the prettiest shoes but not my primary motivation in buying them.

Felt a half size larger than I usually buy. With a thicker sock, like Thorlo, it still feels a little big but not enough to exchange them. Comfortable out of box. I wish they were more stylish.

Comfortable and Supporive - Comfortable, sensible shoe. Great work shoes if you're on your feet a lot. I wish they were more stylish!

Shoes well done - The only bad thing I have to say is that they should have made the shoe laces a little longer. The shoe fits well. No break in time needed. They are comfortable from the first moment you put them on. Job well done!

I like these shoes - I am a fitness walker and most recently have worn the Brooks Beast in a men's shoe! It is a running shoe and although it worked well for me, the mesh upper was "drafty" on my feet in colder weather. I was delighted to see that the Brook's Synergy came in size 11.5 which can be tricky to find. I bought this shoe because a nurse said she loved this shoe in a review. As a nurse, also, I know that we know shoes. Overall the shoe is comfortable and looks nice. I wear orthotics so I cut the liner off above the heel so that the shoe would be deep enough in the heel not to slip. Although the shoe is comfortable when I wear it, my feet feel tired and sore if I've worn them for any length of time. Also, the tongue tends to roll under at the toe-end, so I have to be careful that it is lying down properly before lacing up. I will wear these shoes until they wear out but I think I might do better in a different walking shoe next time around. I'm looking for a 5-star rating across the board!!

Mostly Happy with these shoes. These shoes are great. The only problem I have is a rather loud "squeak!" that I hear as I walk. I thought at first it was the special orthotics I wear with these shoes, but the squeak is also there when I wear the insoles that came with the shoes. I like them and will figure out a way to deal with the noise. They certainly provide the needed support.

Too shallow - These look like they'd be comfortable but I have a very high instep and theese shoes don't. Also, the arch support was too low for my feet. But, I love Zappo's service and the fact that they have a large selection in my size. I'm exchanging theese for another.

Pleased - I have been wearing this shoe for about three weeks now and have been please. I stand on my feet 8 hrs a day and the shoe has been fairly comfortably. It is a well made shoe and is eye appealing. It is the best shoe I have worn in the last 5 years

Not cushioned - Ad says this shoe has "the best cushioning system in footwear". I don't know where they get that from. This shoe was hard, hard, hard. I put my own insole in on top of their insole and it still injured my heel. I think the shoe would be perfect for a person with really tough feet though.

I am disappointed - I liked the shoes at first, but it felt as though they quickly stretched out and then didn't offer sufficient support either on the bottom or side to side. To be fair, I should mention that on one occasion they got soaked. But I would not buy these again. In contrast, I'm on my third pair of New Balance waterproof walking shoes - they offer far more support, although they are more expensive.

Europe here I go - I bought these shoes for my trip to Europe and really thought it was what I wanted, the problem was the size was not a true 8.5 so by the end of my trip my toes were trying to pop out. It was manageable at first but towards the end of trip my feet hurt. The very thing I was trying to avoid. If I had had a 9 I believe it would have solved my problems! Buy a 1/2 size larger than you think you need that is my recommendation.

I find that the width is great since I wear a narrow in a 91/2, hard to find size. They seem to be a bit short in length, 10 would be too big. The shoe is comfortable to walk but not for standing for a long period.
