These are great boots. I read the reviews, sized down a 1/2 size, and voila, perfect fit, a tiny bit large, which I like. Great arch and heel support wow! I wear them as a stable and riding boot, but they feel so great that I hiked in them this past weekend. Excellent lightweight hiking boot, so much nicer than the big clunkers out there.

Ariat Terrain - These have a seam running across the back of the heel that gave me huge, painful blisters on both feet. They started hurting my heels after the first mile of hiking; even wearing two pairs of socks didn't help. I wore them for one hike and I am never going to wear them again. Also, these do run big; I'm usually a 9.5/10 and I fit into an 8.5.

Very comfortable. First day I put them on, I took my dog on a two mile walk. I didn’t buy them as a walking shoe but they definitely fit that bill. Very pleased with these!

Zappos, you're the best! All shipments have been on time and exactly what I ordered. The Ariat Terrain is an excellent all around boot. The fit is comfortable immediatly and I can wear them all day with out fatigue. They wear great and I use my older pairs for outdoor work, feet stay warm and dry even in the sloppist conditions.

Great ankle support and toe room. This is the third pair of Ariat Terrains that I have purchased over the years. I wear them when gardening and hiking. Very comfortable. Very pleased I was able to order them at Zappos. Excellent service!

These boots/shoes are great to ride in. This is my second pair and they seem to last forever.

The shoes a just what I needed for riding. But more importantly, Zappos was wonderful! The shoes came very quickly and they were exactly what I ordered.

Great, comfy riding boots. Ordered them before, knew what we were getting -- as always, great price at Zappos. The really great thing is this: I ordered two day delivery to get them in time for my daughter's birthday. Zappos wanted to thank me for ordering and upgraded to one day delivery. I responded with a thank you and that it was a gift and the one day shipping was very helpful. They responded by refunding me my two day shipping charge and wishing my daughter a happy birthday. I love Zappos. I think it's very important to support businesses with such a high level of customer care.

I have run Ariats for years and have always worn a size 11, even in the other Terrain models. This shoe runs large. I only hope that the size 10 will fit, as there is no 10-1/2 (which is probably what I need).

I love these boots. I have worn my first pair completely out using them in the mud and rain and washing horses and washing them in the washer. I even rode a horse in them when I forgot my boots. They have a spur notch so the spurs set and stayed. They have just been a great versatile boot. They lasted 5 years even with my working in them. I am going to try the waterproof ones this time.

Love these boots! Fit true to size,no break-in needed. I oiled mine with vegetable oil and they look darker now, but aren't damaged by water or mud as easily as the plain suede. Wear them to the barn and they clean up easily after hard wear. Would buy them again in a minute. Sara.

These boots are exactly what I need to do my job of landscaping. They are very comfortable, have some ankle support and protection, and the waterproof toes keep my feet dry in damp grass.These boots are very tough and stand up to heavy digging and walking. I will purchase them again.

These boots were recommended to me by my girlfriend, a cattle rancher. She swore they were the most comfortable work boots she has ever worn. I'm not a cattle rancher, but I have to agree. I was in the market for a comfortable and light weight hiking boot. I followed another reviewers suggestion and wear them gardening. They do run 1/2 size larger but I put an insole in mine and they are perfect! I cannot wait put them to good use this summer hiking!

I bought my first pair of Terrains about seven years ago on the recommendation of my sister. I literally wore them out, and this year I had to find new ones. Zappos got them to me in record time! I absolutely love these shoes! I garden a lot and do lots of outdoor work. The shoes were comfortable from day one. I usually wear a wide width, but the medium fits just fine. I'll never buy any other brand if I can help it. These are so comfortable to work in.

Ariat Terrain - I've worn my boots for 9 months of casual wear and short hikes with very little break in time. I assumed they were waterproof, but found out otherwise on a 13+ mile Alaska hike. I was disappointed with wet feet, but no blisters! I was surprised and happy. I have thin feet with high arch, so often have problems with shoe fit.

Fourth Pair - My daughter leads ponies at parties and is training her horse. She usually wears wide shoes but these fit great and are comfortable for many hours on her feet. This is her third pair and I bought myself a pair as well- love them! A pair will last my daughter a year and she wears them everyday at the barn.

Ariat Terrains - Wore these wonderful shoes for 10 days in a row in Wyoming (Cheyenne Frontier Days) walking on gravel and uneven surfaces, from 7:30 AM to 11 PM EVERY DAY. My feet felt wonderful and I am once again sold on the Ariat shoes. Bought two more pair and perhaps you will never catch me in another brand of shoe again!!

GREAT! SUPER! Buying my second pair. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these shoes. They are my favorite. I wore out the leather by instep and had to have them patched. I own two other pair of ariat western boots and they are just as comfy. These are super comfy and offer so much more support, even better then my tennis shoes. If you haven't tried Ariats yet, try them. They are super.

I have been looking for a verstile hiking/riding shoe/boot. These are great!! The feel like a sneaker, but have the support of a good hiking boot. Can't wait to try them out--going riding this weekend!

Wonderful sturdy boot - This is a boot that can be worn all day - it's very comfortable, but I have to wear it with two pair of socks. The sizes run quite large. My husband is having the same experience with his Ariat Terrain boots.

Ariat makes a nice, lightweight boot. But these shoes totally miss the mark when it comes to their width. I have a normal to slightly narrow foot and when I laced these boots up brand new out of the box the eyelets touched each other. I can only imagine how sloppy these would be after they are broken in. Simply put, these boots seemed too wide to me.

Straight out of the box, these were comfy requiring no break-in. I’m not a horse rider or farm worker...I purchased these to have a good wearing boot to keep my feet warm this winter in any weather that comes my way. I believe these will fit these needs without any issues. I’m a jeans wearing woman so these will be my everyday shoe for the coming months. I wear a 9.5 shoe and ordered these in 9.5. It was a perfect fit, with plenty of toe wiggle room. Toe space is important to me for comfort. I like the small heel as I am totally uncomfortable with a flat shoe. If they last as long as other reviewers say then this will have been a perfect purchase.

I walk my English Golden Retriever almost 5 miles a day and was noticing my pricey athletic shoes(soles) were wearing out too fast. My horse owner friend suggested I try this brand. I figured anything strong enough for wearing around barn animals is perfect when training and walking large dogs. After reading the reviews I went down 1/2 size...also added an insole(for narrow feet). Now I am convinced that these shoes are the ones I should have been wearing. They add a lot of comfort and strength and can be worn all day right out of the box! I do wish Ariat would add "narrow" to their size choices.
