Received my first pair of Frye boots for my 50th Birthday and ready to rock these for 50 more years However, the left boot at the top stitching has almost a plastic substance in the stitching sticking out on the top inner boot that was so uncomfortable and made a scratch mark on my leg. I have tried to call Frye Customer Service for a few days and can not get through, also sent 2 emails. For this high cost investment, I expect this stitching to not hurt. I dont want to have to wear knee high socks every time. Hoping this can be fixed! I have my eyes on the Harness 12 for Mothers Day as I am hoping to be obsessed with Frye! Please help as I dont want to doctor up these $$$ boots on my own.

Man O Man I REALLY hope Frye is listening to their customers, their loyal customers . all of their customers as these reviews get worse and worse about the new Campus boot being of less quality. Dont mess with a good thing! Dont fix something if its not broken- hope they get the message!!! I have several pairs of campus boots and bought the new pink color and they are no where near as nice of quality as my boots of last yr & others that I have purchased. The pink leather was thin and had a crinkle like plastic feel as well as the look to them, no pull straps inside, stitching was different as well.
Hope youre taking note of the horrible reviews. There are ppl out here that dont mind paying $600 for boots but they have to be worth it for ppl to keep coming back.
Take notes Frye!

I have had several pairs of Frye boots. These seemed almost plastic and not the quality I have come to expect from this company.

Back in the 70s I had a pair of Frye boots and they were perfect in every way I think I bought them at LLBean. After reading these few reviews, I have decided not to purchase a pair.

I was let down when I opened the box, poor quality upper shaft on boot, very thin, no straps to help with pulling on, I did not get the product I was expecting, and no way to return on website so, needing help getting that done. A total let down for the amt of money I spent. I can get the same product made in USA with boot straps at Dillards.

Love the pink boots, as soon as I saw them I knew was a pair to have.
The downside is that I ordered my regular size 10 but for some reason the instep on the left side was to narrow & couldnt get my foot in so I exchanged them for a bigger size & this time have not problems getting my feet in however they feel little big & I'll have to wear socks with them in order to not feel my feet loose & moving, other than that Im happy with them & I know they will last me for many years to come.

Ive owned a lot of Campus over the last 20 years and wanted to try this new style. Its sleek, light weight and comfy. It looks like a Campus but made for women who like the Melissa. Its very similar to how other womens Fryes are made. I love them but really hope Frye brings back the USA made rugged version, you could increase the price and keep this version and both would sell. Just saying. or bring back stitching horse in the original US made quality for $800+ given thats what they go for on 2nd hand pages. My favorite part of the new version is that the shaft is taller!! I could go another inch but really appreciate the look of a taller shaft, looks better with dresses IMO.

bought these boots a year ago which were a 5/5 but the material on these new ones are significantly worse-the leather feels a lot thinner. Pull tabs are also gone.

Boot is huge in sizing! Not true to size at all. Could go 1 whole size down. Would exchange but wore in the house and soles are scratched. Bummed.

I longed these boots and when I got them, they looked great...however the comments about the stiff unyielding leather are true. The leather just is not flexible and I have to lay down and have my husband yank them off my feet at night. I tried using oil to soften the leather to no avail. They poke into my ankles with the stiff leather and are tight around my calf, butI am keeping them...I just don't wear them as much as I would if they were more comfortable and easier to get on and off. One tip, buy a cheap squishy insole to pop inside and they will be more comfortable to stand in for long periods of time.

I cannot stand boots that "bag" at the ankle and make me look like I've got the lead in "Pirates of Penzance" and, unfortunately, these boots do just that. Other than that, they were easy to get on, well-made, and true to size. Total bummer, because I was excited to find these on sale, but these are headed back to Zappos.

These are great boot, at great quality. You can get a lot of looks out of it. The only thing to be aware of is that the shaft is pretty tight. It is hard to fit over jeans and wooly socks. Also, the soles are pretty slick, so be careful not to slip in rainy weather.

Yes, I know they're classic, but they are extremely stiff, heavy, clunky and uncomfortable. I just sold my pair because they were just sitting in the back of my closet for 3 years, too unpleasant to wear. Tonight I ordered a couple other Frye styles from Zappos to try on in hopes of finding a replacement. Frye's a good brand; I just wouldn't recommend the Campus boot.

I've had these boots for 3 years and have barely worn them because they are not very comfortable, I can't really fit skinny jeans inside them, and they look awkward under boot cut jeans. I'm 5'1", and have large calf muscles, which may be the problem! If your legs are a little longer and thinner, they will probably work out better for you. They do look very cute with the right dress. I would recommend trying them on quite a bit before you decide to commit to them; they are expensive.

I was so excited to get these boots - the most I've spent on a pair of boots in my life. However, after gently wearing for 1 hour (walking about 20 min of that hour), the seams on the inside of each boot left me with bleeding and open sores on the insides of both of my calves. OUCH! Scars still 2 weeks later. Too expensive to have something like that happen.

Well, this is about the 6th pair of Frye boots I've tried to love. I've sent all of them back. I guess me and Frye just don't go together, because they are incredibly hard in the foot. These were so awkward to walk in, I felt like I had large rain boots on and could barely stride and the ankles were very bulky and odd feeling. They were uncomfortable and toe squishing on my feet for the short amount of time I tried to walk on my carpet with them. Two minutes later they were back in the box taped to go home to Zappos. Bummer.

Adorable, cool, the look is perfect but heel slips terribly so very hard to walk quietly. felt very clunky to walk in. Wanted desperately to keep just because they're darn cool but sent back.

I hate my Frye Campus. I wanted to love them. I gave them another chance even after they scraped my legs bloody. Leather is unyielding. When I put them on there are deep indentations because the leather is trying to mold to my foot/leg but can't. These are so painful in every way.

Very disappointed with this boot. It didn't have a zipper so if you try to wear your pants in, it's very difficult. Also, the boot gathered by the ankles.

Not for me -
I really like the look of this shoe but even after a couple months they never got comfortable. Also the tall shaft irratates my leg. I guess this style just isn't for me.

I received these boots in a box that was "replaced due to damage during transit". There were no tags, or wrapping of any sort, and they were clearly worn. Very upsetting for a $500+ purchase. Had it not been for these issues I would have kept because they are cute. But I wouldnt order them again from Zappos.

I bought these because I wanted a "Classic Frye" 1970s style boot that you always hear people saying will always be in style. I own three other Frye boots (Melissa button saddle, Harness 12R brown and Carmen tall grey). The saddle color is not quite right, it is very light, especially with the light wood heels. I saw these on another girl with jeans tucked in and wanted that look but I think she had brown. My husband said the color and shape reminded him of a farm worker's boots! This is not exactly the look I was going for, especially at this price tag. If I had not already worn them outside, I would do a return. Also, this shape looks totally dorky under jeans, like construction boots. The Harness 12R style is way better but again I was seeking that '70s college 'Campus' look. Wish I got the darker brown. Money down the drain. Perhaps a cobbler can stain them brown?

My first boot fit too small, Zappos was kind enough to send me a size bigger which worked great. Great boots with lots of style.
