Again, I wanted to love these, but they were stiff and awkward to walk in. I originally ordered them in 7.5, but even with socks, that size was large. In a size 7, it would have been difficult to wear any socks. So, sadly, back they go.

I wanted to love these, but they felt like heavy combat boots. I will try a half size smaller. Hopefully that will work because I love the book.

These boots are gorgeous, but unfortunately hurt my feet A LOT and I gave them plenty of time to form to my foot (a year). They were still very painful and heavy to wear for me, but gorgeous of course. I have muscular calves and am considered to be a healthy weight for my height, and these were almost too tight on my calves with socks & leggings.

Horrible ridge right under my heel, that still is pronounced even under a gel insole. Been wearing them for a year to break them in and they are so painful to wear still. I can only wear them for short periods of time before my feel kill me. So bummed I didn’t return these before the year mark passed. Cute but so painful to wear. I’m over it.

They felt stuff and super loose in my size, even with super thick socks. I love the brand and style but I don’t wear them.

Beautiful boot. Leather was lovely. Only problem was the boot was tight on my calf, so i had to send them back. Disappointing because i otherwise really loved them.

These boots are stunning but they do not fit. I'm someone that has a wide calf and could not get them on. Also, I ordered a size 7 and my toe was to the end without a boot sock. I'm usually a 6/12 to 7 so these felt very tight. There is no arch support. If you have a wide foot too, avoid. I really wish they could fit as they are impeccably made and the color is gorgeous.

The old classic I had in college, but the toe more tapered than I remember (and my feet probably wider in front), meaning that I will never be able to wear unless they start making a wide. Kind of crushing, since I really love this boot, with its restrained heel, straight shaft and sturdiness. The Blazer Brown leather is very pebbly, especially on back, which is not my cuppa (prefer a smoother, non-distressed leather). Sigh.

I wanted a really great quality, non-trendy black boot. I thought this could have been it. Upon trying them on, I was instantly reminded of the elementary school Santa Claus. These were a little too plain and the leather around the ankle was a little lose making it look frumpy. Not quite the look I was going for. I will be returning

I loved the boots online-- the height seemed perfect, the simplicity of the design, the presumption that I would be able to tuck my skinny jeans into them, and the brown color displayed on the website. Unfortunately the color I received was a blond color--I would go so far as to say there is no brown tint to them at all. I also planned to wear these boots with slim cut--with very narrow jeans--and pack them into the jeans..Unfortunately, the shaft is so narrow that my legs with boots didn't have a chance. I have medium sized calves so I'm assuming these are not recommended for women who want to tuck their jeans into unless they have very thin calves. Honestly, otherwise I would buy them in heart beat.

Beautiful boot, just not the boot for me , very tall and very stiff also felt a size larger than other boots I ordered in the same size same brand.

This was my last resort in finding the "perfect" black boot. Alas it was also a failure. I wanted a completely black boot; however, you can see tan inside lining at the top/opening of the boot when you have it on. I also expect them to be a lot comfortable? They are expensive; I expect the best boot ever...but I was a tad let down. I also received one that had a crease on the front...I'm assuming that was a random happening. If I had decided to keep them I would've exchanged them for a new pair.

These might be the most beautiful ad well-made boots I've ever tried on but they were so uncomfortable! Very frustrating.

Beautiful color (saddle) but the shaft height hit me at the widest part of my calf and looked very unflattering. I never knew I had big calves - still not sure that I do - but where these hit on my legs just looked terrible -- which is sad because I want these boots! The look classic and expensive. However, I'm going to have to find a different style of Frye with a taller shaft.

Difficult to break in. What was I thinking? While this was the boot of my long ago youth, recapturing that youth has been far too difficult in breaking these Fryes in. I have a high instep, so the width across the ball of my feet has been challenging here.

Gorgeous boots but sadly they'll be going back. I have never had an issue with boots being too tight on my calves, but I could hardly get these on bare legs and would never have been able to fit them over tights or skinnies. True to size everywhere else but very narrow around the calf area. Love my other Frye boots but have to part with these.

I really wanted to love these boots, but couldn't. The heel and color and toe were great, but the shaft was super baggy around the ankle. They ended up looking awful.

I have been scoping out these boots for years. I finally decided this is the year that I buy my first pair of Frye boots! So I purchased the Frye Campus 14L in Blazer Brown Leather. I received my boots and was really impressed with the quality of the leather and construction of the boots. I put the boots on; while they were a bit tight in the calf area, the boots fit well. They were very comfortable...until I starting walking in them. I barely went from my door to the car and noticed the side seem in the boot rubbed my ankle. I thought that I would just break them in, but by the time I had made it to my office a giant blister had formed on my ankle where the seem was rubbing. I'm so disappointed, but I had to return my boots. I will definitely be buying another pair of Frye boots from Zappos, just a different style.
