Lovely boots! I was fortunate enough to get the last pair! I normally wear a size 6, but from other reviews I read people said the Campus boot runs a tad big. I purchased a 5.5 and can wear a thin nylon sock. I’m not sure after the break in period if I will be able to wear a normal sock or not but I still love these boots! It is true in circumference to be 14.5 inches. My calves are exactly 14.5. So they fit snug. I bought some boot stretching spray and it helped a tiny bit. I also got a pair of shoe stretchers from Amazon to help break them in a bit more. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and got a superb deal on the price. I think if I would have gotten a size 6 they would be a bit too big and I don’t normally wear thick socks. I also used a lot of Dr. Marten wonder balsam and Dubbin conditioner on them to help soften the leather up a bit more.

These boots are very comfortable. The color is exactly what you see. The fit is the size that I normally wear.

I bought my first pair of Frye boots 2 years ago and I was hooked I now have 4 pair . This pair is my favorite because the color is fabulous. I usually wear a 11 but they do run large so this pair I got a 10 and the r perfect. They r wroth the money and they get better with age.

One word to describe them.... GORGEOUS!! The perfect pair to match a dress! Well made, high quality as only Frye can be. One thing that I point out immediately is how easy you can put them on and take them out, I wore them a whole day and they are so so comfortable, I just Love it!!

I received my first pair of Campus boots (banana color) as a Christmas gift from my husband in 1976, and wore them for years and years. Now I have a pair in beautiful discontinued petroleum blue Campus boots, and I love them just as much. They are rugged, durable, beautiful, comfortable, and well made. (I will admit that I have slender calves, so fit is not an issue. These boots may not be for everyone, but if they accommodate your calves, you will not be disappointed in them.)

I absolutely love Frye Campus boots. I’ve been wearing them for the past 10 winters ( or so). I went through several pairs. The quality, comfort, style... They are perfect for me. I am petite and have slim calf’s so the height and the width of the shaft were just right, which is so hard to find. I am sooooooooo disappointed the company decided to discontinue the this style. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

These are fantastic boots. Great fit. I am a true 6.5 with a narrow foot. If you also have a narrow foot, size down on these. I took a 6, and they were perfect. The color is awesome. Love the variations in the yellow, and they look great with skinnies, bootcuts, straights, and dresses/skirts. These will be wonderful come fall. Mine seem well made, and I think I will get many years out of these bad boys :)

I bought the brown over 15 years ago and couldn't fit into them after my first baby. I finally caved and bought the same style again, in Banana...o my is this boot cool! The color is so more interesting, very 70's retro. My regular size 9 1/2 fits fine with a comfort insert and socks. Looks great with bootcut jeans, and skinnies. I feel like this boot is very on trend, it's weird thus color has been sold out for so long!

I bought these boots in the banana color about a month ago. I own 11 pairs of Frye boots but each style varies in what size I must get. In the square toe I need a 10. In the pointy toes I need a 9.5, odd but true. I just bought the metallic silver off another site in the 14L style. I absolutely LOVE this boot. I wore the banana color and the compliments were nonstop. Worth every penny. People kept asking what brand. Frye speaks for itself. Frye consumer for life!! Thank you

I have Frye's Campus Boot 14L in Banana and in Brown and have just bought the same style in Black. For me, my regular size 8.5 is perfect in this style Frye boot (some other styles vary in my case, but not the Campus Boot). I wear mine with tights or thin socks -- if I were to wear heavy socks, I would size up to a 9 (but that size would be too roomy for anything but heavy socks).
It seems to me that the Campus Boot in Black is slightly lighter weight than in Banana and Brown, which means I'm able to achieve a slight slouch at the bottom of the shaft (fine with me!).
The Campus Boot is a timeless style; I've been wearing it since the 1970's (the big winner in college back then was this boot in Banana). For me, the heel height is perfect and, oddly enough, I like the toe, even thought I don't usually care for square-toed footwear.
Anyone who is buying a first pair of higher-quality, go-with-anything, basic boots should check out this style.

Just a note about one of the colors. I ordered these in the "dark brown", the pair I received was really a dark dull mustard color, that I found very unappealing. Side note - I love the heel on these boots! Wanted to love the whole boot, but for me the shaft length is awkward looking, combined with the odd color, I am returning.

I am a Frye addict and, like so many, remember these iconic boots from my high school days in the 70's. Alas, I didn't own a pair back then but admired them on all the 'cool kids' at my high school! I am between an 8.5 (Melissa Button) and a 9 (Phillip Harness) in Frye and am normally an 8.5 in other shoes. Based on the reviews, I ordered the 8 in the Campus 14l and it was too tight in the toe box. I know it might stretch but the toe box is pretty important so I think I'll need to go with an 8.5. But the boots were gorgeous, I ordered on Saturday and they arrived on Monday, and I just loved them!

Purchased on May 24 and wearing them right now on May 26. I owned this boot in 1974. This version is better. The original wasn't particularly comfortable and I had young feet than. The new ones went right on. Who knows, they may never come off. I see now why some people sleep with their boots on. I can't imagine much time needed to break them in. On the label it is written made in USA. I for one appreciate that very much.

These boots are classy and understated. The blazer color is a rich reddish brown, which is perfect for the fall/winter. The heel height is nice. Five stars for style and quality. I gave four stars for comfort as somehow the pair that I received had a raised portion near the heel where two pieces of leather joined, and it is a bit uncomfortable after walking/standing a long time in them. This may not be a common issue.

I am an avid review reader but this is the first one I have ever written! I have 10 pairs of Frye boots but these are by far my favorites, and also the only ones that I have paid full retail price for. The banana color is beyond gorgeous, and I get compliments on them every time I wear them. I am a size 10 in all other Frye boots, but take a 9.5 in these. I also wanted to compliment Zappos customer service - due to some sizing and leather inconsistencies I ordered MANY pair and sent them back before ending up with my perfect pair. Also, Marco was an incredible help with Customer Service as well. Thank you!

These boots are gorgeous there's no getting around that. I got them in banana and the color is pretty much what you see here. I think it's quite close actually. But it's a rich yellow and they are attention getters for sure. The problem I had is that they are very roomy, too roomy for my thin legs and feet. I bought my actual size which is a 6 1/2 and they are very large. I'm returning them and getting a 6 and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that that will be small enough. My legs are slim and the boot shaft is fine - roomy with plenty of space for jeans, but would also look great with a short skirt. I'm bumming about the size is my main problem. Other than that I love these boots.

I have these in stone washed whiskey and in black. These are the best boots or shoes I have ever owned and I wore them every day from fall '13 to end spring 2014. I can't wait to put them on again. I have a standing desk for back issues and work on computer all day every day and I do this wearing these boots, even better than sneakers. The break in period is about a day. I will get more I am shopping for them now and it is still August in NY. Thanks Zappos for the many boots I tried until I found these! Best ever.

I bought my first pair of Frye boots in the early 60s at a small boot store on Charles Street in Boston and I have loved the Frye brand ever since. They last forever, run true to size and can even handle a resoleing after a couple of years. Best boots ever.
I am 66 years old and still have two pair of the Campus boots, black and banana, which i bought here about 5 years ago. I am online looking for another pair in brown. They definitely are keepers and never go out of style. I will probably die with my boots on!

This is a good boot for short women. I'm 5'3 and finding a boot shaft that doesn't hit me just below or mid-knee is a challenge, but this boot height is great. I am a solid size 8 but ordered the 7.5 and the 8 based on reviews that they ran large. I also wanted to try the 8 because, while my calves aren't large they are muscular and have about a 15 in. circumference, and I thought that the 8 might have a wider shaft. The 8s were way too big for my feet and maybe only a quarter of an inch bigger in shaft circumference. These definitely run large so go a half size down.

I have lusted over these boots for too long. I thought I just couldn't spend that much money on boots. Finally, I saved enough to buy a pair, and took the plunge. What's the worst that would happen? I'd return them for free? Since I knew this was an option, it helped me justify my purchase. These arrived in the mail super fast. I put them on out of the box and the Hallelujah Chorus started playing. They are perfection! The quality is impeccable, the style perfect, fit great, and color amazing. These are by far the best pair of shoes I've ever owned. I want them in every color. Now I'm saving up for my next pair. Thank you Frye for a quality product. Amazing!

Omg, in one word...gorgeous! The leather is so soft, its like butter. The color is a bit like an amped up camel even though its called banana and they go with everything. Of course, exceptional quality since its a Frye boot. They really stand out since its not something you would see everybody wearing, kind of boho chic. Definitely would recommend to the woman who likes to have her own style. I will wear these forever!

My second pair of Frye boots. These are way more comfortable, with a wider toe box than the motorcycle style. They definitely run 1/2 size larger as stated by many others. These are honestly the best boots I own - and I have a closet full. Totally worth the money.

Amazing looking boots! I get so many compliments on them. They are extremely stiff and will take a long time to break in, but they should also last a very long time. These boots were a great purchase!

The sunrise color of these boot, their squared off toes and the fact that they are cowboy like boots without being cowboy boots really grabbed me. I wear these with jeans tucked in, and out, as well as skirts and dresses. They are super cute and rugged at the same time. I had to add insoles to make the foot beds more comfortable and they are bit snug as a result but they were a bit too hard to walk in without them. So, with socks I have to go thin. Thick socks might do the trick too, I do not know. But thick socks would be needed if you want to wear them in winter. They are not lined or warm in any way. But for Spring and Summer they are just perfect.
