Classic Style - Great Boot - Poor Sizing - Frye Campus 14L is a classic boot and I would recommend it to anyone, but even if you order from Zappos.com, go try it on in a shoe store first... please. My only complaint is that the size ran large. I am between an 8-8.5 and the first shoes I ordered were an 8. The shoe itself was much longer than all my other shoes. The width felt comfortable, but a little loose. I ordered a 7.5 from Zappos and was planning to exchange it with the 8, but after it arrived, I felt the width, calves, and heel were too tight. However, the length was great. After much deliberation, I decided to stay with the 8. They are definitely a half size larger, but with heavy socks, they seem ok. Zappos.com has an excellent return policy and let me exchange them back and forth with no problem.

Expensive but well made - These boots feel like they will last forever, and hopefully I will like them for that long. They are true to size and are one of the few pairs of boots that fit me well in the calf (I have pretty skinny calves so this might not be the best boot for those with muscular calves). They are comfortable to wear overall, although the stiff leather does rub a bit at the ankle bones (hopefully this will improve as I break them in). I'm not sure I would spend so much on a boot ever again, but plan to wear these every day to make up for it!

They are a classic - This is my second pair. I wear boots everyday, to work and to play. These boots are classic looking. I don’t ride in them, the sole is very slick and there is minimal cushion under the ball of your foot, but they look great with dresses and skirts as well as pants. I'll shop Frye Campus boots forever!

Still a great boot! I wore these Fryes in the 70's. I have the same pair and they have held up and while they look well worn and well loved (they need to be resoled) - they can go another 34 years. The new pair in banana will be with me for many long years to come, too - still well made and have already received compliments - why not? They ARE great! Like everyone says though - unless you wear really thick boot socks, there is PLENTY of room in the boot and may feel just a bit big - better than too small. As these are not offered in a wide, that help with the fit!

Still breaking these in - These are ridiculously comfortable when you first put them on, and the look is great. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because a) I worry that they'll start sagging eventually and look like I have "cankles," and b) I can't say they're 5-star comfortable yet as I've only worn them (for long periods) twice and both times have been limping by the end of an 8-hour day wearing them. First, out Christmas shopping I wore them and by the end my CALVES hurt, which I did not expect -- but I have big calves, so maybe the leather wasn't stretching fast enough for my big old calves. (But they did fit, on first wear, with my big calves.) Second time I wore them, the calves were fine, but it was like the sole of the shoe was both too big and too narrow, which is weird -- I think I'm going to put a squishy insert in there for the next time I wear them with tights. But they're great shoes that I've wanted for a long time, I'm glad I got them, and I'd get them again. The quality is EXCELLENT and I know I'll have these shoes for a long long time.

Frye Campus Women’s Boots - I bought these boots and fell in love once I saw them in the box. Immediately put them on and realized I should have gone down a half size. I even tried insoles and double socks-no luck! I am normally a rock solid 9m but in these boots, I should have gotten an 8.5 and I think I still would have had some room. The calf part is very roomy, very easy to pull on and take off. The saddle color is stunning! These boots are slippery when wet. I thought it was just me, but read elsewhere from a review that they had slippage problems during rainy weather. These boots look fantastic with jeans-I felt very hot!

Almost nearly awesome - Upon many positive reviews here and by recommendation of a friend... pretty much exactly what I was looking for… something to go from work to the woods in, but they're a little narrower in the toe box than I would have liked. By the end of the day, my poor feet hurt and they're not very cushy inside and the soles are slippery on the tile floors at work.

Great ol' boot. These were a gift for my 30th birthday - a boot I've always wanted. They did run a hair bigger than true-to-size. I normally order a size 7 in boots, but a 6.5 was more than fine for these. Should be fine with thick socks. They are, however, a bit bulky under jeans. You can "see" them under there unless they are wide leg pants. I have thin legs/calves, and these were not tight around the calf, for those thin women wanting a tight to calf boot. Fantastic looking boot though. A bit strange feeling in the heel area at first - kinda "bunchy" - but these really did wear in on the first day. Also a bit narrow in the toe area. Yeah, I'd suggest them, not for wide feet.

Skinny calves - My calves aren't THAT big, but I do have trouble with some zip up leather boots. Anyway, I had to get these boots stretched at a local place, but after that they are PERFECT!

Nice boot, lacks support - I really love the look of this boot, but I'm an over-pronator so they were pretty uncomfortable. A nice pair of Dr Scholl’s arch supports have solved that problem.

Almost perfect - I had ordered a brown boot, careful not to get the banana color. But I guess what I got is brown over banana? It's not quite what I expected, but I like it well enough not to return them. I also ordered a size 7 but received a 7.5. It worked fine.

Love my Frye boots but... These boots were made for someone who has slender calves, not that I have abnormally sized calves, but these were a little tight. I spent a few days stretching them out before I could wear them. Also, they did pinch my toes for quite a while. On the other hand they are really good looking shoes and they go with everything!

Campus Banana - I love these boots. I've had them for years and they are comfortable and stylish. I tend to wear mine with jeans (both under and over). However, the sizing can be tricky. I went with my true size because when I sized down my toes were squished. But with my true size, the heel is sort of loose. I generally just wear these boots with thicker socks and they are okay. My heel still slides a little but I find that better than having squished toes.

I must admit, I wanted to love these boots! The craftsmanship was exquisite, the color (banana) was divine. But they looked and felt like galoshes/ rain boots on me. There was a weird bunching at the ankle & they gaped when I walked. Back they go

The heel was too wide and slipped and the leather was very hard. Hard to get my foot into this boot. For almost $500 I expected a more comfortable softer leather.

I have owned different pairs of Campus 14L for the past 15 yrs or so. I keep buying the same boot in different colors. This time I was lucky and got my hands on the silver ones and love them. Ive received several compliments. In my case they do require some wear before they mold to my feet but once that happens they are my go to shoe for everything. I hope the pink come back.

I own couples Frye boots and 1 campus 14l size 8. am happy with my boots. I tried calling customer service couple times but no answer. I needed to find out when the campus 14 L PINK is going to be available but its looks like Frye company doesnt want to do business. I hope the boots are made in the USA based in couple review the pink campus 14L is not a good quality. Hoping is the company tries to make new ones, should be 100% quality and made USA not in Mexico. I hope you hired experienced people handling the craftsmanship of the next pink campus 14L and the others.
