Great for Walking - This shoe is a great shoe for walking...very comfortable and well made. It looks pretty good too. Mephistos are expensive, but are well worth the price. They are comfortable right out of the box.

Great Shoes! These are the most expensive shoes I have ever owned, but they are also the most comfortable and well made shoes I have ever owned! If they wear as well as I expect them to, they will certainly have proven to be worth the price. My profession keeps me on my feet literally ALL day, and my Mephisto Storms are absolutely the best thing that has ever happened to my feet, legs, and back. Zappos was also a pleasure to deal with. Shipment was VERY FAST. I had occasion to return another pair of shoes, and the return was handled promptly and courteously as advertised.

Review- This is an excellent shoe. Typical Mephisto quality, good arch support yet extremely comfortable. I love the color too.

Mephisto Storm is the most comfortable shoe I have owned - This is the best and most comfortable shoe-sneaker I have ever owned. The leather is very soft and felt broken in right out of the box. The sole is non-slip and great for boating. Dealing with Zappos is great. I am hard to fit and Zappos accepted my returns without question.

This storm is O.K. This is an excellent shoe. It is super comfortable and looks great, FROM ABOVE. However, I would prefer that the amber-colored heel were the same color as the sole. It makes the shoe look too casual. Nevertheless, I bought a second pair, same color.

Mephisto Storm - This shoe is wider than the Match. Normally wear a hard to find 12.5, but the 12's were a perfect fit. The arch support is firmer than the Mephisto Match. Great shoe if you suffer Plantar Faciitis. I look forward to years of wear because Mephisto has a great resole program for their shoes.

Simply the best..... I purchase MEMPHISTO shoes for the past 15 years, simply the best in the world....honest. I've purchased the above model in White for the third time now. First of all the Zappos service is amazing. Ordered the shoes on a Wed. and got them the next day in a snow storm......with free shipping. My only complaint is a very musty odor from the shoes. If you are in a confined space like a car or small office the odor is very prevalent. Someone else mentioned this problem as well. Other than that...a great pair of shoes.

Very comfortable all around overall use shoes. Not good for serious or fast paced walkers, but good for strolling. Maybe that is why they are so popular with the older set, or maybe that is the only group that can afford such an expensive sneaker! Basically, a traditional, no style well made sneaker that costs double any other.

Mephisto Storm review by Mephisto/Ecco wearer. I purchased the Storm to replace some black Finn Comforts. Although my feet never hurt in the Finn's my knees and back did. They just did not have enough shock absorption for me walking on tile all day. I wear Ecco Track II Lows all the time because my knees and back like them. But it is getting warm outside and the Tracks are too hot. They do not have a ton of support though so my heel spurs can act up sometimes when wearing those but it is rare. I wore the Mephisto Match every day for about two years and wore the soles flat. I did not know I could resole them so I threw them out. So I was going to get another pair of the Match style but read one reviewers statement that the storm had a better arch. I have worn them for 2 days and would have to agree that the storm does have better arch support than the match for my foot. The Storms forefoot area is not as cushioned as the Match but the little stronger arch support makes up for it. This is a very well made shoe and should last someone many years of wear.

If you have problems with yours feet... Before Mephisto's Storm I was sure, that top-quality sport footwear from Adidas, Reebok, etc. is the best for peoples with feet problems due to great amount of modern technologies. Very good quality with special attention to feet care.

Urban sneaker: Good at what it does - The Storm is accurately called an urban sneaker. Very comfortable for padding around town, with a sole that will soften the pavement pretty well. These are my shoes of choice for casual, light duty, short duration, around-town ventures. They are a bit too squishy for touring, travel, rough ground, or long walks. They also scuff very easily. For my taste, they also look a little clunky. Ecco Freewalkers are not as soft-comfy and not as padded, but I can wear them comfortably for longer periods, and I think they look better. My Allen Edmonds Day Trippers are built better and look much better, but their soles are a little narrow. Ecco Tracks are still my go-to shoes for travel or rough pavement or long hauls. I like the Mephisto Storm, and they are a good urban sneaker, but the price is way beyond the value of the shoe.

The Shoes that live up to its name. I am on my feet ten hours or more a day for six days a week because I manage two gas stations; therefore having the most comfortable shoes is critical. I have been on a quest to find the best walking shoes for a few years now, I have tried: Nike, Michael Toschi, Kenneth Cole, Adidas, Lugs, and Havana Joes, but none matched the comfort of Mephisto's Storm. The shoes maker billed these shoes as the best walking shoes, and let me tell you, they are absolutely correct. Also, the service and selection from Zappos are as good as you can get.

Break in longer than other Mephistos - I love the Mephisto Match. I was looking for another style, and I got this on sale so I saved a fair amount of money. Overall I like them a lot, but it took a number of wearings before the edge under my ankle softened up enough to no longer be uncomfortable. Great support otherwise. I also don't care for the tan color so much, but like I said it was on sale.

2nd pair of Mephistos - On a vacation I was fortunate to wander into a store selling Mephisto's and found the best pair of shoes I ever wore. As a pharmacist standing for 12 hours a day, the Match shoes I bought were as comfortable as I had ever felt. When it came time to replace them, I knew it had to be another pair of Mephisto's. I tried the Storm and, though I am not unhappyu with them, I am disappointed that they do not feel quite as comfortable as my original Match pair. They are somewhat stiffer and feel less true to size. That being said, they are still the perfect shoes for my back and feet during those long days, but I will try another style of Mephisto next time.

Good, but buy a full size smaller! I figured that these would run a little big, so I got a half-size smaller than I would in American shoes. Well, they were quite a bit too big and my feet flopped around in them! They're reasonably comfy, but they're not as cushy as they appear. I like the Match better. Also, the arch support is practically non-existent, so be prepared to add some custom orthotics or insoles.

Somewhat disappointed - I own 5 pairs of Mephisto shoes and each feels like it was made for me. However the Storm fits oddly. It is loose in the heel where no other Mephistos have been, the insole has odd protrusions. The size was true to my other Mephistos. I will admit that they are getting a bit better over time but I doubt that they will ever feel as great as the 5 other models that I own. Believe me, I didn't buy them for their looks.

In terms of comfort, Ecco shoes shoes are embarrassing. The Storm is a great shoe with one major exception, they smell like a barn or a gym. I do not understand why, my feet are dry. These shoes really exude a heavy, musty smell that can be annoying to others in an enclosed environment.
