I ordered these for my husband and should have returned them. The material is so stiff that he will never be able to break them in. He wore them once for only two/three hours and had blisters that bled and took weeks to heal on his heels. He tried soaking them in water, wearing them around the house with socks. All of that was to no avail. Now it is too late to return them. These were a waste of a lot of money, unfortunately. There is no padding. Buy Sperrys for quite a bit less and actually be able to wear them!

Very good quality, quite different than your average boat shoe. It was a little stiff at first; however, did soften up with wear. They do require a little break-in and then fit like a glove.

A.E. shoes, are top quality, they take a little getting used to (I'm used to Sperrys) and should be broken in properly (unlike the Sperrys which need no breaking in) wear for around 2 hours a day for a week or so and they will conform to the shape of your foot, real top notch workmanship. Well done A.E.

These were my first pair of Allen Edmonds and it will definitely not be my last. Excellent quality. I highly recommend these shoes.

A high quality product indeed. They do seem a bit snug and the break in time is longer than normal. A little on the dressy side for deck shoes. Zappos service was A+!

I have owned several pairs of Allen-Edmonds dress shoes and have loved them. Having a narrow size, I have loved the way they fit my feet comfortably with no break-in period required. Not so with the Eastport model. The shoes felt short. They are stiff and unforgiving. The leather uppers are still being broken in after months of wear. The soles are inflexible, board like inflexible. There is no arch support. This is the single most unsatifactory footwear purchase I have ever made.

First, I have worn size 12D AE's since my first purchase in 1993. Indeed, my last pair of Eastports purchased at an AE retail outlets was a 12D. However, the pair of shoes that arrived at my door was closer to an 11 or 11.5 narrow. In addition to the wrong sizing, the build quality was not typical of AE: the soles seemed to have been glued/stitched incorrectly, and on the right shoe, two seams were so poorly done as to be extremely painful to my foot. Frankly, if I did not know the shoes were AE, I would have assumed the shoes to be massed produced in a country such as China (having invested, and lived off and on in China since the early 1990's, I am fairly confident in my statement). The combination of such poor quality product means I am unwilling to again pay for shipping to and from home as I can no longer be certain of sizing and product build.
