I bought a pair of the original boat shoes. The tips of both soles broke off on the first wearing. Sperry sent a replacement pair. Same thing - the tips of both soles broke off on the first wearing. I have four crescent pieces of sole. I've had other pairs for years that are still intact. Another pair of Gold shoes is fine.

I had a pair of Sperry's boat shoes I loved to death - perhaps a decade of regular use. It was with great sadness I retired them - they were the most comfortable pair of shoes I owned, with the possible exception of my Sperry duck boots, which I also love. Naturally, nothing could replace them but another pair of Sperrys.
Alas, within days of receiving them - and not even wearing them every day - they began to fall apart. The rubber soles seem to be of incredibly cheap quality, falling apart at the seam line with a speed surprising for a company whose quality I generally respect.
With great reluctance, I would not recommend these shoes.

Just bought two sets of Sperry Topsider Boat Shoes. Both pair were defective. The sole of the right shoes tears apart at the stitching on the right shoe. The rubber sole either seems to be cut by the stitching machine in manufacturing or else the rubber is of inferior quality. I've worn Sperry boat shoes almost every day for the last 45 years. Never had a problem until now.

I have been buying these shoes for decades and wish I could continue as I like them; they are comfortable and light, but I will have to find a new kind of shoe. On both the last two pairs purchased the front outer ring rubber bottom separated creating an opening, and flap. This happened on a pair after a year of two, but happened on the next pair after only a few months. It is sad that these shoes are not being made as well as they used to be.

I buy a new pair of Sperrys once a year and have for about 8 years. This year the first pair had the sole rip off within 3 days of wearing them and this pair had the inner foot support tear within 2 weeks. The quality has significantly decreased over the years. I will be switching to another brand.

Have purchased many pairs and was very disappointed in the quality as the sole ripped at the toe after 2 weeks of wear. How does this happen to a new pair of shoes???
Disappointed I,

Shoes are very comfortable, but the bottoms are extremely cheap. Bought them to replace ones my son lived in from another company that he finally wore out. After less than 2 months the bottom edge broke off from the front of the shoe. So disappointed!! I tried to add an image, but couldn't. My son loved them when purchased. He has another type of Sperry that are great. Too expensive for such a low quality.

Very uncomfortable. It feels like there is a small stone hitting my right pinky toe on the top base part of my pinky toe. When I checked, there is no stone but it's the knot of the thread. I ended up going back to Skechers which are very comfortable. Very disappointing as I used to like this brand during my college days but now very uncomfortable.

Sherry docksider made poorly. I have been wearing docksiders for 40 years. I ordered a pair recently and upon wearing them for 5 minutes, I stumbled and the sole broke away from the toe

Never had an issue w/ Sperry's before.. but these fell apart in a few weeks (as did the 1 other that I bought at the same time). Seems that the rubber bottom is fragile and the glue did not do it's job. I am very disappointed and will consider other shoe companies going fwd .

Not as advertised. Shoe does tie and is very easily going to be scuffed. Looks cheaper than they used to also. I took them back

Quality control has become bad. Both soles broke all the way through around the threading after wearing them 8-10 times over the course of 2 months!

Unfortunately, the tip of the sole completely broke off the second time my husband wore these topsiders, which were a replacement for his well-loved older pair.

Footbed of shoe had name of shoe in deep letters. This made the shoes very uncomfortable to walk in. Other shoemakers print on the footpad rather than using deep groves. I returned them. I have worn Topsiders for more than 30 years and I cannot understand why they would make such an unsatisfactory shoe.

I need to return these. The stiching in one of the soles at the top has torn and the rubber sole has separated. Also the sole itself is coming apart
