I bought the same size as the originals which finally wore out. The quality is no where near the same, and the fit is not the same, although I purchased the same size. Had to return them, since they didn't fit, and don't look very good.

I've been wearing A/Os for years and have loved them. Decided to purchase another pair to add to my collection, and after only a month of wearing them they are falling apart. On both shoes the leather lining on the sole wasn't glued right and is falling off. On the right shoe the sole has come out completely. On the left shoe the rivet for the laces has popped out. This is all after wearing them for 20 or so days. I'm hoping i just got a defective pair, but when I contacted Sperry Top-Sider they offered no support. Disappointing.

I have worn Sperry Topsiders AO for years now. When I ordered a replacement pair, the XW width on the new pair was markedly narrower than the old pair. I held them sole-to-sole for comparison. I am disappointed that Sperry would change the width, but not the width designation. the advertising leads one to believe that AO means Authentic and Original. This is not true.

I have been only wearing these shoes for the last 4 years. Think I've had like 6 pairs so far and they all have been wonderful except this last pair I bought here. The back part of the leather insole meets the front part of the insole in the middle of the shoe (not sure why not one piece)... Anyway, where the back part meets the front section there's a large bump on the right shoe. The bump is in both the left and right except the right shoe has a large annoying bump. I'm just going to try and get used to it but am disappointed this annoyance. Otherwise great shoes and I expect I'll be wearing the classic brown for many many years to come... We sail and I love how I can get them wet and how fast they dry (even in cold weather)... I don't wear socks either and these fine shoes are nice and aerated keeping them stink free.

I just returned shoes listed as 9 1/2 W that were a full 1/4 inch narrower than previous pair purchased 5 years ago marked as the exact same style, size and width (measured on the widest part of the sole, not the top). This makes the shoe too narrow. My previous pair fits great - very comfortable. So, what happened? Did sizing standards change in the last five years, or are these shoes now being made around the world and there are no standard sizes, like a lot of other clothing these days? I guess I have to go with a wider shoe, but guess what? Sperry doesn't make this style in a wider size. Looks like another company is going to get my shopping dollars. Sorry, Sperry. It was so good for so long, now it's over.

every sock is ruined from the dye Sperry is applying to the leather....it constantly leaves stains that the wash just isn't able to get out completely very disappointed, I won't buy Sperry again

I purchased the 9 Extra Wide's and they were not wide AT ALL. It was strange, they seemed wide at the widest part of the foot, but then got narrow, crushing my toes together. I was so bummed because the shoes look great. On the bright side, I sent back the shoes and got a confirmation that they recieved the shoes back in 4 days! Pretty cool.

The leather is very cheap and stiff. After many wearings and treatments with premium leather balms, the shoe just never conforms well to the foot. They are uncomfortable every time I wear them.

I bought two pairs in the last two years and are falling apart. What happened to the shoes? I remember 30 years ago the last forever and you could walk from miles comfortably not comfortable anymore and the soles are cheap. The leather is cheap. The soles are thinner and softer, they look thick on the outside but inside if you peeled it back, it's thin. I found a pair of old ones the thrift store. Another pair I'm going back to a thrift store. 30 years ago everyone at my prep school. And love them ever since until the last couple years. What happened. I don't mind if they're made in China, but the specs have to be right. Did someone buy his company.? Don't take my word for it. Look at the ratings lately.

I bought this shoe exactly one month and 4 days ago. The shoe trim has now broken around the toe when I was stepping into my car. I thought these were good quality but maybe I had a faulty pair.

The images of soles cracking - Sperry has hollowed out the soles below the foot bed, where you can't see (but you'll eventually feel it alright). The sole appears a certain thickness from the outside, but if you feel around inside, along the edge in the toe box and around the heel, you'll find the sole is about half as thick. Call it cheapening the sole to squeeze a bit more money out of the gullible customer. The sole around the outside being a different thickness easily cracks off. There are also edges present inside where they've done this, between where they've dug out the sole and its original thickness. They glue a bit of leather over this transition to soften it, but you'll compact that down through simply wearing the shoe. Then the edges along where they've dug the sole out will press into the bottom of your foot. It's most pronounced along the front of your heel, right before your arch. According to my doctor, unknowingly, this edge has given me nerve damage on the underside of my foot. Who would have thought they'd have you walking on such garbage by design? If you feel a lump in front of your heel, take the shoes off and toss them. Or send them back.

On the first occasion I used the shoes a chunk of the sole broke of. It seems to be really bad quality

I love the shoe! If you had a white or ice color in SIZE 16 Wide I would buy several because they are rarely available. I gave it one star because yo don't hav my size!

Buyer Beware. I've got an entire closet full of Sperry shoes (dating back over ten years) and they're all comfortable 11 1/2 Mediums. Love the quality and the fit. These shoes are off spec. They're narrower than former Top Sider's and a half size too small. You won't be happy. This sale is all about Sperry dumping off spec product. Either buy them a half size larger and order wide's or don't go near them. You won't be happy.

Used to be great, quality has gone way downhill. I have now had 3+ replacements on my authentic originals within the 8 months. I've been wearing the exact shoes for 20 years and usually replace them once every 3 years as I typically wear these shoes everyday. In the past, really the only reason I replaced them was due to them looking dirty and worn, not that they were falling apart. I still have a few pairs from well over 5 years ago that are perfectly functional but look very seasoned. I've never seen it where the stitching is so bad that every pair is falling apart after light wear. Specifically, the front of the sole is coming apart from the stitching and causing the front to flop. Ever since about a year ago, every pair of authentic originals that I have been shipped have been defective. Unfortunately, I have read many other reviews from Sperry and I hope they are reading these and correcting the issue. I really hope that Sperry gets this figured out. I love the shoes and style but the craftsmanship needs to seriously be improved.

These Sperrys are too narrow and the insole is weird. I won't be buying them again.

A nice shoe but breaking it in has been, and is still is painful, I got a blister from a stitch on one shoe.not sure if I'll exchange or return it.

These shoes are simply not comfortable, nothing like the Sperry Gold shoes I used to purchase.
