I have been wearing these for years. The quality has gone way down since they have been making them in China. I order extra wide and they are way too narrow - I used to get wide and they fit fine. I need to order a half size bigger to get a so-so fit. Also, there is an issue with the stitching that holds the sole on. The recess for the thread is not deep enough and the thread frays and then the sole separates from the body. This has happened to the last several pairs I bought, usually after a season's use, but this last pair went after a few months. They just don't put the quality in like they used to.

The look and quality were both terrific. The fit from a size and width point of view weren't bad, but the shoe didn't seem to have enough depth, if this is the right terminology. My foot didn't seem to sit deeply enough within the shoe to feel comfortable. It felt as though it would fall off during normal wearing. I have several other style Sperry shoes, 3-eyelet Bullseye most recently, that are great and fit and feel perfect, so I assume the problem with this shoe is unique to the cut or style.

We ordered these shoes three years ago and were extremely satisfied. However the 'extra wide' size is no longer extra wide. We compared the soles and there was a noticeable difference. Notified company and check with quality control and manufacturers. Hope they come back with extra wide is a true extra wide.

I've been wearing Topsiders for years-my first pair was when I was 13 so many years. This pair felt tight and without comfort. Unfortunately, I buy a year in advance so I have an extra pair and didn't realize it until it was too late to send them back. I hope the new pairs are better cut like the old Topsiders. I will try a new pair. Very disappointed.

Received mine on Saturday. Tried wearing them on Sunday to assure fit, etc. and wear them in a little. After a short time I noticed they were sewn incorrectly on the right shoe on the inside between the sole and the leather. I returned them on Monday. We'll see what happens. Very disappointed in the quality. This should have been caught by whoever inspected the shoe. If I understand correctly I must wait possibly as long as 3 weeks for a refund and then reorder. Very inconvenient.

Almost 3/4 of an inch shorter than the correct size I have. This is second time now. Something is wrong at Sperry.

I was so excited to get these that I just threw them on and started wearing them. The size and comfort was fine but the right shoe started making a hint of a squeak and by end of the second day of wearing them it sounded like a whoopee cushion or something. I work in real estate and I can't be showing clients homes in squeaky shoes so I called Zappos and they were helpful in returning them. I even did a walk for the customer service agent on the phone and shared my "squeak" with her. After I came back online to look for a different pair I decided to search the reviews for the word "squeak." Not to my surprise, many others have mentioned this squeak. Some have referred to it as Bozo the clown or a dog chew toy. It sucks because I really like the shoe. If you're on a boat or something maybe this wouldn't bother you but if you're often walking with other people they will definitely hear your shoes "squeaking."

Recently bought my first pair of Sperrys in a while. The first thing I learned is that Sperry doesn't make a Topsider anymore. Topsiders were the "prep" that allows Sperry to now say "prep for all"; you had to have authentic Topsiders, or you didn't bother. In any event, I loved Sperry and I needed another pair. What I got was a pair of brown made-in-Dominican-Republic-run-of-the-mill boat shoes with a Sperry logo. They are uncomfortable; they're not getting better; they scrape my heel, though they are the correct size; the soles wear out quickly; and they look worse for the very moderate wear like the "Authentic" Sperrys never did. Some may like the new Sperrys. I like the Sperrys I used to know, and these aren't them. I cannot recommend these shoes, especially at the inflated price.

Bought these Black Sperry's last year (2017) never worn till this year. I have worn these shoes mostly around the house, worn them out only twice and they are falling apart at the seams. I have always have owned a pair of Sperry's and have never had problems with them like this pair. I guess the workmanship is getting worse. I tried to upload a photo but it says that was an error. Tried several times keeps happening.

Too narrow at the toe. Size 11 was squeezing my toes, so I returned those and tried 11.5 -- that was better lengthwise but the tapered toes of these shoes was still squeezing, and I have narrow feet. I could tell a blister would be coming. So I returned them. Too bad, they look nice. People with skinny tapered toes should like them.

I'm 56 years old and have for most of my life owned one and usually several pairs of topsiders at any given time. I've always just expected quality because it's always been there. Not this time. I bought a new pair 3 months ago to replace my previous pair that had has seen better days. 3 months and they're already in worse shape than the pair I've had two years. Understand that these are my go to shoes. I wear them almost as often as my flip flops so they do get heavy use, but never have I had a pair do this. The lining on the insole came unglued within a week and a half and now the stitching is coming loose. What's changed? Different manufacturing facility? I don't know but I'm now very hesitant to replace these with another pair of sperrys. I'm going to search out more boat shoe options. I've never had a reason to look before but I assume there are other brands to choose from.

I wore these things for the 2nd time on a hot day with lots of walking. I was not wearing socks but I think I will have to in the future. I got multiple blisters and they really did a number above my heel. There is a stitch at the top back of the shoe that basically turned to sandpaper. I really hope socks make a difference or this will be the end of my experimenting with boat shoes.

The sole of my sperry's started peeling up at the front of the sole by the balls of my feet from the day I got them. Then about 6 months after I bought them the sole came out completely.

I love these Sperry's but am disappointed with my last pair. I've gone through 3 pairs of these for work and while the first two lasted over a year, the third pair got a huge crack in the bottom after 6 months of use. Long story short, I am buying something different this time. They're too expensive to have to buy that frequently.

Comfortable at first, but not at all durable. In less than 6 months, the sole had changed in shape and the leather became weirdly lopsided and started to pinch my foot to the point walking became painful. Would not buy again. I recommend Timberland's boat shoes, with their comfort soles. Same style, similar price, better comfort and durability. Wore without socks, so I bought a half size smaller than usual.

Purchased as a replacement for identical shoes purchased over 2 years ago. Ordered same size & model number # as old pair but new shoes are actually smaller (shorter & narrower) than old ones. Old ones made in China, new pair made in Indonesia. Seems like Sperry cut the gauge on materials.

It looks great and feels really comfortable. I would have given it a 5-star rating if not for the annoying air/squeaking sound it makes every time you land on your heel. The sound is very loud; even other people can hear it. It's the air being pushed from in between the shoe and the insole. I'm not sure how to remedy this. Maybe glue the insole to the shoe so there wouldn't be any space for the air to pass through? That's my only gripe about this pair. Too bad it's so annoying.

I've heard great things about this brand so bought my pair. Big disappointment. In less than 4 months (of very minimal use) the insoles have come apart. Criminal waste of money for a brand which is supposed to be high quality.

The label inside being held down by glue and stitching peeled of after two hours of use. Or it may haven been there already and I didn't notice. Since I don't wear socks with loafers, I felt the leather stitching under my feet peeling off. Not one but both shoes. It's really annoying. I want to peel them off but afraid it may be worse. I would return them if I could. Don't buy these shoes. Zappos shouldn't eve sell them.

Like walking barefoot on tile flooring, no arch support or sole insert. Hove soaked shoe in water twice and worn until dry to try and get a better fit. Quality looks okay. Shoe tried in store felt better.

I've ordered Sperry Top-Siders twice in the past 2 years and have had to send them back twice each time until I got the right size. I love these shoes, but the sizing is reliably inconsistent.

I have been buying this shoe forever, at least 20years,but this time the shoe seems to be made cheaper than before. Leather is much thinner, almost feels like a bedroom slipper rather than the shoe I new and loved. I am very disappointed this time with the quality, not like before. I buy the same shoe every year maybe two times a year, but I don't know about anymore. I hope this was just a bad pair.
