Love these shoes - I have wanted these shoes for years now and I was so excited when I received them. They fit great, although I ordered a half size smaller than I normally wear and they are still a tad big. They are great classic shoes that go with everything.

Happy husband – I ordered the Jack Purcell shoe for my husband. He was so happy with them. He said the fit was excellent and they are so, so comfortable. Now my son wants me to get him a pair. Love this shoe - These shoes are great. Very well made. Jack Purcell's are worth the extra money. I get so many compliments on them. My feet are narrow and they fit really nice, not too wide like other tennis shoes. These are very well padded also, so that makes them easy to walk in for long periods of time. I have them in almost every color. Love the retro look with the modern support and construction. They look good with anything and you get a lot of compliments. Also love the service at Zappos. Thanks for upgrading my delivery service. I ordered them on Sunday night and had them on Tuesday. That is fast. The free return postage is nice also. I have only returned one pair of shoes I ordered and there was no problem at all. Zappos is the best online shoe shopping in the world.

Jack Purcell® CP - Awesome shoe! This is the third pair I've had. I literally wear these shoes out that I have to get a new pair every year. They're perfect with jeans or khakis.

Are they vintage or new?? We LOOOVE Jack Purcell’s! I have 4 pairs and my boyfriend has 3 pairs. Our favorite is the special edition LTTs in black/red smile. So comfortable and durable, plus they have that vintage, classic look that will never go out of style!

Converse Jack Purcell shoes - I ordered these shoes for my daughter for Christmas and when she opened the gift she shared with everyone how comfortable they were. Great arch support, heavy quality fabric and quality eyelets all of these were a great improvement from the past "Jack Purcell's." Service through Zappos.com was excellent. We will all be ordering shoes through this website in the future!

Preppy classic - If you are a true preppy gal with a closet full of classic pieces, then these are the shoes to own. Seriously, would you ever consider pairing another tennis shoe or sneaker other than these with your jeans/jean skirt and your preppy crew neck sweater? These are a true classic dating back to the 1930s! Buy them exactly one half size down from your normal shoe size for a perfect fit. (ex: if you wear a 6.5, then buy a 6 which is equal to a men's 4.5).

Very happy with shoe - It was a gift, but recipient reported they were more "cushiony" than her former pair and they were more comfortable. We ordered 1/2 size larger and they fit.

Purcell always - Nothing can beat the crisp, clean look of a white Purcell. They are a casual and preppy must have. The canvas model has a certain charm to them and the contemporary leather are great all around.

New changes welcome! I have owned these shoes before, prior to the "update", but I'm very satisfied with the changes. They do cost a little more, but the improvements are hard to miss. First of all, there is a much better cushion (that actually cushions!), it's covered in a high quality velour-like fabric. The canvas portions of the shoe are now padded slightly, but the result maintains the feel of a pure canvas shoe while making things a little more comfortable. There is also a nice lining to the shoe, but my favorite change is the laces. The laces are nice and thick, they maintain their shape well, and the ends of them are covered in metal and not plastic (the weight of the metal on the laces takes some getting used to). Another great addition is that the sole now features the Sperry Top-sider like cuts which help grip on slick wet surfaces, which makes these great deck shoes. My only complaint is that the toe area seems to have narrowed up a little. Also, unlike the old Jack Purcells, where you had to size up a half size, these shoes are pretty much true to size, although you may want to size up anyway if you have wider feet.

Very comfortable - These shoes are pretty sweet, they have more support and padding than Chucks and they look cool too. Purcell’s are perfect if you like the retro style of Chucks but you don't like the punk look as much.

Retro Dad - These are practically the only shoes my husband will wear! Our daughter gave him a pair for Christmas probably 12 years ago and he has worn them ever since! Always wanted a pair when he was a teen in the 60's and never got them...now can't get enough of them!

Hot shoes! These are really gorgeous... perfect to wear with jeans or leggings and a short skirt. As always with Converse, I had to order a 1/2 size smaller.

Loved them when I was 12, still do! Great that Zappos offers women’s sizing- with small feet, can't usually find in more common men's shoe departments. No arch, although tongue is more padded than in the old days. But buy these sneakers for feeling like you're ready for a neighborhood game of kickball, not for cardio walking on the treadmill!

I've worn these since high school....... These aren't the same shoes as I wore years ago because they have been upgraded with some arch support and padding. They're great for wearing to work and as long as they stay white, look pretty nice!

Cute Summer Shoe With Jeans - This was the third of the three pairs I ordered to compare (and kept all three). The other two were white leather and similar to these in style. This pair is very cute but very much for summer, not cute with socks and probably not going to last as long but while they are good, they are very good. Not for jogging, no arch support but great at a picnic or the beach! Men's 6 1/2 worked for a Women's 8 1/2 to compare.

Narrow but Amazing Shoe - This shoe is a classic and a staple in wardrobe. Have to say white is the only way to go. The shoe is a bit narrow, so if you have wide feet like I do, it may take some getting used to. Also order about a half/whole size smaller than usual. Overall I was very pleased.

I love these shoes - These shoes fit me perfectly; I have wide feet, and usually only wear flip flops. The last time I wore converse was about 14 years ago, when I was 13. Really, really cute.

Love the shoes - Great shoes, I wear them without socks so went with a 6.5, with socks I would probably go with a 7. Love the padded tongue and soft sole. For me they are a little snug in the upper foot, but that part of my foot is wide. Good solid construction. Fun shoe.

Love it! I had been looking everywhere for this shoe and finally decided to try this site for the first time and I am completely impressed by the site, the shoes, etc. The shoes feel great! They look great with a pair of jeans or casual slacks and they have that retro feel that I wanted without a steep price tag. They are comfortable but after all day your arches can feel a little tired since there is minimal arch support compared to athletic shoes now.

Great alternative to Chucks - Great looking alternative to the Chuck Taylor All-Stars--I've been wearing Chucks for 20 years but wanted to try something a little different. These fit the bill--same great classic canvas look with a bit more comfort. Be advised that there's no need to "size down" as with Chucks--these run true to size.

Love my Jack Purcell tennis shoes - I wanted the retro Converse look with comfort. The Converse Jack Purcell gave me both. A fun shoe for knocking around in that goes just about any wear.

Super comfortable - So much more comfortable than my Chucks! They felt a little big - about a quarter to a half size bigger than marked. I was too impatient to wait for the smaller size, so I wear them anyway, and it works out fine.

Stylish alternative to the All Star - Love Chuck Taylors but wanted something a bit different. These Jack Purcell's fit the bill. Surprisingly padded and well made. These shoes fit right in to my rotation. Get yourself some.
