Forever Cool - Jack Purcells are the coolest tennis shoes ever made. The new ones actually have a padded insert for better support which is a vast improvement over the originals. Always great for clay tennis courts. Good on boats. Good for just being cool. By the way Jack Purcell was a world champion Canadian Badminton player back in the 1930's, retired as the undefeated World Champion in Badminton in 1945 and was inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame in 1955 and the Olympic Hall of Fame in 1973(when the Olympics still didn't recognize Badminton as a sport), just in case you were wondering who he was. He designed a rubber and canvas badminton shoe for B.F. Goodrich Company of Canada in 1935. He is one of my Heroes, as you can tell. May Converse continue to make Jack Purcells forever.

Great shoe! I got turned onto these by a friend and absolutely love them. Comfortable and look great! Not a huge fan of the steel tipped laces and the laces ran long, but otherwise no complaints.

Very comfortable shoe! Probably the most comfortable pair of sneakers I’ve ever owned. Way more comfortable than a Chuck Taylor sneak. I got mine in the color black because I’ve always found black footwear to pair up with just about anything. They go great with my Chino/Cargo pants as well as jeans for a variety of occasions! Be sure to check the sizing before you order as these shoes run big. I had to return the first pair because they were half a size too big than marked.

Classic comfort and style - The Purcell’s are shoes with a classic style redone with great comfort. They are soft canvas with a thick soft insole. To add further flexibility the bottom of the shoe has grooves cut into them all across the bottom of the shoe to add flexibility. The shoe essentially comes broken in! Great shoe with classic looks and much more comfortable than the Chuck Taylors!

Converse Jack Purcell CP - I am a female who ordered these in navy - pay attention to the sizing for women's sizes, Zappos has it right. These shoes are great; they will be my summer sneaker this year. They did take a few wears to break in, but are now super comfortable.

Great Sneaks - Great right out of the box. I chose these for their retro old school look. As an added plus they are comfortable. They do squeak a bit hope that goes away after they break in.

Jack Purcell's - I had a couple pairs of these over 30 years ago and loved them, so decided to try them again. They are even more comfy than before and they look great! I wear a 6.5 in women's and the 5 fit perfectly. They look great with jeans.

Converse Jack Purcell's are great! My son started wearing them a few years ago when they were extremely hard to find. He seems to have started a trend! They look great, they feel great, they're retro, and they're popular. What's not to like?

Clean and classic - This is my 4th pair of JP's. I like the retro look and the upgraded interior for a better feel than the traditional Chucks. I went with all white this time. They look smoking with your favorite jeans. Jack's are the only Converse I'll buy...

Love this shoe! I bought these shoes before a vacation where I knew I'd be walking a lot and I'm so glad I did! The soles are very cushiony and my feet never got tired even after full days standing and walking. I've never ordered Jack Purcells before so first I ordered them in my usual true foot size - 7.5 - and they were HUGE. I went down a full size to 6.5 and they fit perfectly.

Great shoe! These shoes are great. I love them. I ordered a size 10.5 but I usually wear a size 12. They fit fine.

Jack Purcell Converse are the best! The quality is great, the fit is true to size, and they don't rub on my feet! They are also comfortable. I think I would recommend these over the Chuck Taylor's, but that my personal opinion.

The shoe - The shoe is great--comfortable (though limited arch support) and great looking. I love the feel of the fabric of this shoe--it has a little more structural integrity than numerous other Converse styles but at the same time feels softer and more supple.

Jack Purcells - Shoe was exactly as expected, but I didn't order a half size smaller as suggested and they were about a half size too big.

Great shoes! They have more cushion and arch support than normal chucks. I would order them a half size larger though.

Great sneaks - These are great sneaks - cute and very practical. Mine fit me true to size.

Great Shoe!!! This shoe looks and feels good. I originally ordered a 7.5 but had to send them back for a 7. I usually wear a 9 in women’s and 7.5 in men’s, but had to go down a half size for the perfect fit. I plan on ordering more in other colors. Also, before I bought the black ones I ordered them in white. When they arrived, the rubber sole wasn't as white as the canvas material, as shown in the picture. I recommend buying the darker colors.

These Shoes are HOT!!! I had a great experience with Zappos.com. They upgraded my order and I got my shoes the next day!!! These shoes are so hot and I had such a good experience that, I will be back.

Here's the deal with guys' sizes... Those of us who spend time and extra money to hunt these down are just so obviously too picky and vain to wear Chucks...I just think it's funny that's all. I had to say it. If this is your first pair-o-Jacks, you probably won't even like these at first...they feel kinda big and awkward and clean until you wear them for a few weeks. Then you will love them, and, the part we all love the most, you'll start noticing everyone noticing your sweet sneaks! Anyway, so you want to know what size to get right? Ok, if you're a girl, I guess I can't help you. But, if you're a dude and your true shoe size is 10, and you're going to wear your Jacks with no socks, then get a 10. If you are going to always wear socks and/or you have even moderately wide feet, a 10.5 is your size. The main rule to remember with these is always get your true shoe size or a half size larger...you don't want to go smaller at all. It also depends on how you like your shoes to fit. If you like your shoes to be a little snug then get your true size 10. But if you like just a bit of breathing room so you can spend all day on your feet or walk a lot and not have sore and blistery feet, then the 10.5 will be your size. I prefer the latter myself. Hopefully this will prevent many unhappy returns!

The first, but not the last, pair - I was thinking of getting these in either the green/white or oatmeal/parchment, both of which look quite handsome. Then I happened across a picture of James Dean wearing white ones, so I decided the white ones must be the color to get this shoe in, just like black high tops with white rubber and laces is the color to get Chucks in. I was not sure which size to order because some people wrote here that they had to go a half size down and others wrote that they had to go a half size up. On the Converse website, though, it says to order your normal size for these and a half size smaller for Chucks. Well, my Chucks are an 11 so I got the 11.5 in these. Both pairs fit perfectly. These don't have that narrow feeling that the Chucks do though, and unlike the Chucks, they never squeak when I walk. Both are awesome shoes, however. The only problem is everyone is wearing the Chucks these days. The Chucks were only supposed to be for really, really cool people. I used to think you weren't allowed to buy them if you weren't the coolest person who came into the store all day. These Jack Purcells though, are an awesome alternative because they are still a classic but not as mainstream as the Chucks. The Jack Purcells are comfortable and especially great if you think James Dean was cool. P.S. I ordered these on a Sunday and had them Tuesday morning! Thanks Zappos!

Classic good looks - This Converse Jack Purcell sneaker is the most timeless and classic of "tennies". They look great as a preppy look with any kind of pants or shorts. Think clean and fresh. They are not the most padded but they are improved from their predecessors.
