the small fits my 8.5 female foot- it's a little tight at first but stretches over time. i have had these slippers for at least 5 years. they are still intact and functional but they have really stretched out and look a little worn and mis-shapen so i am ordering them again to take with me when i go out of town so that i'm not embarassed about my slippers. I love slipper socks vs. actual slippers because i prefer to be barefoot/just socks in the house. in the winter however, my feet get very cold and these keep my feet warmer than any other slipper i've ever owned AND my feet feel free AND don't make my foot sweat. I only ever wear them with socks. depending on temp i might wear thin socks or i might wear thicker socks. i walk hard and these provide enough cushioning for my joints. one last note/ I did wash on gentle cycle in the washing machine and air dried and they held up fine. they even shrunk up a little but quickly stretched out again. i bough the dark carcoal but don't like how dark it is and am returning for the beige like i had before. it hides stains pretty well.

Snug & comfy. Fit perfectly. Seem well-made with no apparent flaws in material or workmanship. Were recommended by friend who praised their durability & comfort.

I was delighted to find these, they're just like the ones I remember my dad wearing when I was a child. As I hoped, they provide warmth for my ankles on chilly evenings while still being flexible enough to let the rest of my foot relax after a long day in work boots. Workmanship is good, both leather and wool are thick enough to last quite awhile. I rated them as "no arch support" because that doesn't really apply, they have a moccasin-type sole. They are a bit slower to get in and out of than a conventional slipper, and you need to fiddle with them to get the sole lined up right. But once on, they stay put and don't slop around like my old slippers! Time will tell how they hold up to washing but I suspect that is mostly dependent on me. My wool socks don't shrink or stretch if I use cold water and air-dry, so I will treat these the same way, in addition to oiling the leather when it seems dry.

After three years of constant (in cold weather months) use, old pair had holes at toe. So needed a new pair. So glad to find these were still available. They may not be the most "stylish" slippers around, but they keep the ankles warm. Perfect! For size 10 1/2 show, wear size 11 Acorn Slipper Sock.
