These have been my comfort zone for years but alas the current iteration seems to be of a different fabric, rougher, with no wool for warmth

One of the models on the site noted "imported" on the description, so I nixed that one. Ah, the good old slipper socks are made in Maine, right? The description made no mention of "imported." They arrived today. Yeah, they're fine. But, on the sole it says "Made in China. Yeah, the website is festooned with all this "Made in Maine" stuff. Apparently, not so. I'd gladly pay more to employ Americans. - John

These seemed like a great idea, but my experience was not good. The "sock" is not enough to stabilize the sole on my foot -- it tends to rotate slightly and becomes uncomfortable. I returned these and bought "Old Friend" soft sole moccasins instead -- they are more comfortable, more sturdy, can be worn with or without socks, you can choose any weight socks you want, and of course the socks are easy to wash. Unlike the Slipper Sock.

I wanted to love these - I used to have a pair of fleece slipper socks that looked like these that after about 10 years of wear I had to replace. These are terrible. They hurt my feel - I can't walk in them without the bottoms shifting. They fit perfectly (I have a size 7 1/2 foot - I had to get the smallest ones). But every step feels dangerous and my ankles hurt after wearing them.
I'd also recommend:
LL Bean used to have a great fleece pair - no longer

My fiance had a pair of these in the past and he absolutely loved them, so I ordered 2 new pairs for us for Christmas. I thought maybe there was a defect on these pairs or something because they fit really funny. The ankle part comes up from the very back of the heel so the fabric bunches up at the front of the ankle, and that part is puts pressure on the top of my foot/front of my ankle and feels like it's forcing my foot to the way back of the slipper. It almost feels like you're standing on the heel edge, yet there's way too much room at the toes. I'm an 8.5 typically and he's a 10.5-11, but we're both swimming in these. If it wasn't for that, they'd be great. The fabric and cushiony bottom seem comfy and high quality. Customer service tells me they've changed the design in the last couple years.. hope they switch it back. In the meantime, disappointed and returning these.

They are nicely made and warm, but functionally they aren't good. You can't walk in them without them step by step coming off. Very disappointed. The other model with an actual heel, while more expensive, is a much better choice I guess.

The "sock" part of the slipper is so narrow that I couldn't get it on my foot - not even to my ankle. I spent a lot of time reading reviews and decided to ignore that bad ones and get this, but that was a mistake. If you have big feet, don't get these slippers.

This is my third pair of Acorns. Previous two pairs were extremely comfortable, easy to get on and off. This pair is EXTREMELY hard to pull on. The sock is way too narrow, with little stretch. Also, much taller than my old pairs, so more to pull on. Sock is so tight that I can't even pull it up over my calf. I'm already wearing a hole in the sock from the extreme tension I have to use to pull them on. Too late to return, as I got them Christmas 2017 but just took them out of the box. If this is the future of Acorn I won't be buying another pair.

I ordered the XL and had to return, I have now ordered the XXL and have to return. Been a acorn customer for well over 15 years...the new construction is different....much to tight...no stretch like previous years...getting foot in is very difficult and will end up most likely ripping from all the extra pulling needed.... such a disappointment as I love the product for cold weather...come on acorn what happened??

I have owned many Acorn slipper products over the years and never been disappointed. This pair is positively bizarre. The size chart indicates XXL as the suggested size for a Men's size 12-13 foot. I wear in that range so ordered them. They arrived about an 1.5 inches longer than needed and so narrow that the sole is narrower than my foot. The sole, in fact, isn't even shaped like a human foot. I spoke to Customer service about this and was told that with the mergers with Isotoner and some other companies they have found some problems with some new suppliers. A second pair was sent in case the first was an anomaly and it was similar although longer. Customer service refunded the charge and didn't require for me to return the defective slippers and suggested donating them locally to a clothing bank of some kind. My feeling is that the company was very responsible in terms of dealing with the product but the slippers themselves were completely unacceptable.

I have a pair of these slipper sock that I bought years ago. I love the comfort and warmth. I wanted to replace them and ordered new ones in the same size. The new ones were too narrow and way too long. I triped over the toe when walking. I have a medium width foot but felt like my foot was falling over the footbed. They were not comfortable so I returned them and am still wearing my old ones. Wish you had kept the same sizing.

The sizing on these slipper socks is very off. I am a size 8 in everything. I tried the size S first, since that is labelled for women size 8-9. That was huge. Then I tried the XS, which is for women 6.5-7.5 and it was also huge. I would suggest ordering 2 sizes down.

Not only uncomfortable but unwearable. I had a pair many years ago that were very comfortable. These were truly disappointing. I will return them.

I just purchased my second pair of Acorn Slipper Socks. I LOVE them and can't imagine the fall and winter without them! They are warm and always relaxing to wear. And they last several years. Don't purchase anything else to keep your tootsies warm.

Bought these for my mom. She has sensitive bunions and absolutely loves these as they don't rub against or irritate her feet in any way. We have them in two colors. So far, they are doing well in the washing machine, too.
