This is the second NF Jester backpack purchase! The only reason I purchased a new one is that the first one was pink, which I love, but I've had it since Jr year in high school and I'm going to be a Sr in college soon. The old one is in great condition still ... but it was time for a black backpack. Great product!

Two things didn't get it a 5 star: 1 i miss the small sunglass pocket on the top of backpacks with soft cloth for sunglasses, cell phones, etc. 2 I prefer the front pocket to have the organizer but I understand why it is in the larger pocket, less likely to be pick pocketed out of. Other than that I love love love this bag! So cool looking, perfect size and the mesh bottle holders hold my 40oz hydroflask.

The backup is very sturdy, yet comfortable.

My daughter went through several cheaper versions of this backpack at college before finally getting this better version.

I used it when i went camping with my family and really really nice.

Good backpack for school. The design and colors are attractive and the material is tough. I would like it a little roomier as my middle schooler has a lot of books to carry.

I was super excited after buying this product and couldn't wait to use it! I loved the colors and everything about it, including the comfort in the back padding. However, the back of the backpack has some sort of board inside the back to make it more rigid, which is not in any means uncomfortable, but limits the flexibility of the backpack in terms of putting more binders or books in there. This also causes it to be quite top heavy, and every time I sit down and lean it against my chair it falls over, which admittedly is slightly annoying. Other than these few minor details I love this backpack and highly recommend it, however if you need it for school and have more than one binder and 5 or 6 folders that you have to carry, I would recommend one of their larger models or perhaps and different brand.

I bought this for my senior year in high school. Very nice material, just what I expected from north face. I had an older version of the jester for 6 years and it could always accommodate my things. The blue isn't as bright as the picture, it's more pastel than a lighter cyan, which is okay with me because I was kind of "ehhh" on the bright blue. All my binders fit nicely, but I don't think much else can fit than what's in the picture (I took off a star for that) so if you have some relatively fat textbooks I wouldn't reccomend this. I couldn't fit my novel in with my other stuff, so I had to put it in the front pocket which is alright since it won't get bent or anything. Even though I had a lot of stuff in my big pocket my laptop could still slide right in to the laptop pocket, which is nice. I'm not using my laptop at all this year so I think I will put a notebook or two in the laptop pocket to make more room. Everything else is great. 9/10 would recommend.

Because of my work I often have outdoors travels so I needed a backpack that was lightweight and comfortable for long walks, so this backpack It is great for me.

I got this backpack for school. It is a great backpack I like it a lot , but it is just a little bit small for all my books.

I use the backpack for college. I put all of my books and heavy laptop in my backpack and it feels dramatically less heavy and more comfortable than my old bag.

I bought this for my son in 3rd grade. I like the front pocket with all the areas to organize stuff, and I like the outer bungee area where you can shove a sweatshirt. It also has handy side pockets for a water bottle. There's no laptop compartment but that didn't matter to us. It's well made and I like the shoulder straps and chest harness. It sits flat on the ground for loading (I hate when packs fall over onto their front). It worked very well until middle school when it became much too small. It's a great pack but he needs a new one since he began middle school. He has to fit this into his pack: 3" zipper binder, soft-sided lunch box, large book with 300-400 pages (which he carts to and from school each day), and 2-4 composition booklets. So, right now, I shove in the 3" case-it zipper binder, then I cram in the lunch box on its side, I slip in the comp books either in the front pocket or the main compartment, the book goes on the front where you'd bungee a sweatshirt. But, when it rains, the book can only go into the main compartment (which it absolutely cannot fit, so he has to leave it at home when it rains). I am so sad because I love this pack but it's much too small. Right now, with all the items shoved into the pack, the zippers are stretched to their limit and he has to wrestle to get everything out. It's a testament to the quality build that it hasn't ripped apart at the seams yet. I'm looking at the ll bean turbo transit pack to meet his needs. So sad this pack isn't larger. We're going to keep this and use for day hiking or as a carry-on when traveling.

Purchased this backpack for my girlfriend as a day pack for our trip to Europe. It was great for what we needed but the storage space was relatively small

Use mainly for school. Great support

I needed a backpack that would last, I go to school for 12 hours and carry around enough books and papers to make my car think I have a passenger with me when my bag is in the seat. However this bag is great I can fit my laptop in the pocket, all my notebooks and everything else I need.

This is a great college backpack!! It is small and lightweight, perfect for running around campus. It also is a lot bigger on the inside than I thought! I can fit all my necessities without a problem!

Great price design

nice product. sent back because it seemed a little small for my daughters needs. very nice laptop protection however I feel it takes too much space away from other practical uses.

Wish there were pockets in the smaller part but it works well for me

I like very much new backpack, is perfect for everyday use, for my work stuff and to have weekend vacation.

I use this backpack for college and it's not a bad bag, I just really would've liked one a bit bigger. The way it's designed doesn't allow a lot of room for some of my smaller books to fit in an organized manner. The main compartment will hold my laptop, a two inch binder, and a one inch, but I have to turn my lit book on its spine and slide it in there so I can get a couple of extra things in. This of course means that in order to get to my book, I have to take stuff out and put it back in, and then do the same when I go to put the book back. The front pocket is long and narrow, so if I want to put more than two small books in there, like my Bible and a little notebook, it won't happen unless it's short enough to stack on top of my Bible. It also makes the bag kind of top heavy, so it falls over frontwards when I set it down, which may not be a big issue to some, but to me it just gets kind of annoying sometimes. Especially when I have to slide it under my desk to keep it out of the isles and getting in people's way. Even with all these petty cons, I'm still going to use it because it's a backpack and I needed one. I just got tired of looking and finally bought this one since my old backpack (that I had used for the past two years) was falling apart. I'm not trying to say it's a terrible backpack at all, it's just not the best for me, but I can overlook the "flaws." Particularly when I love the color and it's made with such good quality. I don't expect this one to break down after two years of use.

I've always had issues buying a book bag that would be comfortable on my back and durable to weight! The jester backpack does the job and is very stylish!

Love this backpack! I attend college and this is perfect for my laptop, books and accessories. Very comfortable on my shoulders and fits my body great. Would recommend to someone going to school.

Daughter bought this backpack for school. When it arrived e noticed that it was a little smaller than we thought it would be. She still loves it!

I was so happy when i got it! perfect size and everything!!! once i put it on it was very comfortable!! I actually use this backpack for school because i would thought it would be very comfortable to walk with and i was right! but i do wish the backpack had more space to fit all my school things but i understand cause it was made for hiking but i chose it to be my backpack! what I'm trying to say is yes, i love my backpack and i would definitely recommend this to a friend to use for hiking or for school. your choice ;)
