i bought this bag for my daughter second day of school the top part with the whistle came off its a great bag overall

I just recently got a job as a summer camp counselor so I needed a backpack for the summer and also for college in the fall. I came across this backpack on the North Face website and fell in love with the print. I looked into it a little more and decided to but it. After using it for a week, I can truly say that I love it. Although it is a little bit long I think it will become more fit to my body and it wont be as long as it was originally. It fits everything I need plus some, and I love the outside pockets and straps. This backpack is super convenient and definitely worth the buy.

I had a Jasport backpack that held up great for many years. It was time to get a new one and decided to go with North Face, a brand I like. I'm surprised and concerned about some of the reviews that said it was starting to fall apart at the seams and hope that doesn't happen to me, but I believe there is a lifetime warranty, which is nice. I checked the measurements carefully to make sure it's the same size as my old Jasport, which is perfect for hiking and over night stays. Seems i'm the only review that is not using it for books and school, but for actual backpacking! Ha. I got the black. It's cute sporty. I love the water bottle holders on the sides, light reflection in the front, and that it's made for women. The big silver zippers are nice to grab on to and add to the look. It's the perfect size for me. It does hold my laptop and big cosmetic bag, overnight sweats, etc. I was even able to cram a pair of shoes in there also. It was snug, but it worked. Would have liked a smaller pocket in front, but over all, I like it. Its a lighter, thinner material, than my old one, but seems durable like a rain coat. I assume it's waterproof and all that, but haven't tested it in weather just yet. Anyway, hope this helps someone. :)

I have had this backpack for pre-school in 2005(crazy right) and for it being 8 years old it still is in great condition like before. There is one main compartment for storing books,binders,ect. and there is an organizing pocket.

I got this backpack because I desperately needed a cute, new backpack that would hold up well. The ion blue plaid is gender-neutral, in my opinion, and I like it because I'm not a girly-girl. I've gotten lots of compliments and it isn't bulky at all!!! I waited awhile to see how the backpack would hold up and it's great!! I have put 8 folders, 2 binders, 2 notebooks, a bunch of writing utensils and a book and it hasn't ripped or torn. I 've worn this in the rain and nothing got wet. Outside isn't a problem at all!! I have worn it in rain or shine and I love it bunches!!

Great bag, looks similar to my more expensive North Face that is about 5 years old that I will be replacing with. Very satisfied.

I took this bag with me on a month long trip to Panama, it was perfect for the trip! It wasn't worn out by the end, still in great shape.

First, this is the most comfortable book bag that I have ever owned. Second, this book bag has always fit anything I need. Whether it was a notebook, a laptop, 3 notebooks with a laptop and a textbook, or 3 notebooks with a laptop a textbook and a sweater, I've never had trouble fitting in everything I need. To make things even better, the book bag never looks giant and stuffed. Third, with all of the abuse I put into my Jester book bag, it has lasted me a solid four years. I do not have a single complain about this book bag, it is a real example of a literally perfect product.

I love this backpack! It is large enough to fit all my necessary items but it isn't so humongous that I feel like I am backpacking through Europe. I am about 5'4 a size 5 or 27/28 and it fits great. There are def better North Face backpacks but for the money I am satisfied. :)

I needed a new backpack for school and decided to go with this item. Classic backpack. Will last long. As for Zappos, thank you again for quick efficient service! Ordered it on a Wednesday afternoon, got it on Thursday morning. Can't complain.

Perfect size backpack for my 6th grade son. Very durable construction with plenty of compartments.

I've owned two different North Face backpacks prior to this one. Both served me well during the four years I spent away at college, in Boston. Both were stylish, yet rugged. The sight of these bags suggested durability, and respectable craftsmanship. I still own both of these bags. Yet this bag, the Jester, is rather poorly constructed, and of cheaper materials (polyester in lieu of nylon) than my last two bags. A definite disappointment. And after looking back at the product description for the Jester, I see that the fabric is indeed omitted from the materials section of the listing. I also took a moment and checked the listing for Borealis, which is in fact one of the bags that has survived since my college days. The product page indicates that this bag is in fact constructed of ballistic nylon. (I assume that this is why the Borealis costs more than the Jester...?) On the positive side, the bag is stylish and comfortable. I'm just not sure it will last very long. The North Face, I am disappointed to find that you would put your name on a bag like this. As for Zappos, I love you, as always...but it would have been nice to have included the fabrication/materials listed for this bag on the product page. I'd likely have ordered another bag, instead. Maybe the new Borealis, or Recon.

I tought that this would be a good backpack for my son, a 13 year old skateboarder. I ordered the green checked. The green is fluorescent and very girly. Back it goes.

This is one of three backpacks that I ordered for my boy's back-to-school shopping. My son loves it! His favorite feature is the bungee straps on the outside to keep a hoodie or fleece when the inside is full. I'm sure the reflective patch will make this backpack easy to spot on the autumn nights when the sun sets a little earlier. If you're like me and want something durable and well worth the money spent, this backpack should be considered.

Great backpack! I wear this everyday on my motorcycle and love the strap that snaps around my waist! There are tons of pockets for storage and it is not bulky, very light weight and durable!

Great backpack! Was originally surprised by how stiff the back panel is--- but it offers great support and is good for carrying a laptop. The perfect backpack for novice hikers and students.

I love this book bag. It is so comfortable and spacious. I had two book bags previous to this one and they wore down very fast. Excellent bag and the shipping was fast.

Awesome backpack! I just recently used it as my carry-on bag on a plane ride. The rear compartment holds a lot and the front section has a good amount of pockets for easy storage. Possibly my favorite part about the bag, however, was the price and shipping from Zappos. For such a quality bag, the price was amazing and the shipping was ridiculously fast.

I gave this North Face Jester back pack to my granddaughter for Christmas. She was very excited about getting it, she could not wait for Christmas break to be over, so she could show it off to her friends. Well made.

I bought this backpack for law school, but it seems a bit small. Will hold a laptop and 2 textbooks at the most. Still really like it.

I love this backpack! If you\'re looking to lug around a ton of books, you might want to keep looking, though. It holds my 15 inch Macbook and 2, maybe 3, law books (depending on how big they are). That\'s enough for my purposes, but there are roomier backpacks out there, if that\'s what you\'re looking for (for example, LL Bean). It could also have more padding on the straps and back, but, I think it\'s generally the larger backpacks that have the thicker padding, which makes sense, and it\'s never really compromised my comfort. Also, I\'ve been caught in the rain with this backpack, but my books and computer have stayed dry. Overall, I\'d recommend this backpack--excellent combination of style and functionality!
