School bag... Love the look & size

I bought this for my husband as a work backpack. Loved all the compartments and the comfort!!!

Love this backpack! Gorgeous color and style - perfect DIR college!

This North Face Recon bag is incredible. Granted, I am reviewing the old version from 2004 ish. I purchased this Recon pack in my Sophmore year of High School in 2004! This pack has now been in nearly 20 countries across four continents. I'm 28 now and am blown away that I continue to use this pack EVERY day for work, gym, and day hikes. I'm tempted to buy the new version which is why I'm on here writing a review.. but my current pack has a lot of sentimental value to it :) . We'll see, but I can tell you, I bought this pack in 2004 and everything, zippers, the netting in the back, EVERYTHING is in perfect shape. THe only wear and tear visible is the white north face label stitched into the pack. It's basically brown at this point but obviously that doesn't matter. Unbelievable pack and still in style 12 years later. Thanks North Face, oh, and REI for selling it to me!

you can use it everywhere, anywhere all year round

For school (college). It is comfortable and light. There are enough compartments to fit all my supplies. It is not bulky which is a plus.

I bought this backpack for school. I've used North Face backpacks for years now. They are my absolute favorite. Great quality and hold up for years on end. Great return/warranty policy too. I bought the black. It's sleek and professional, and has more than enough room. It is lightweight and awesome. So happy with this purchase.

This is a gift to my husband. He doesn't like to spend money on laptop bags but I gave him this bag anyway. And he loved it. He loved the way it reduces the weight on his shoulders. So far, holding up well and the color (black/grey) was nice.

Purchased this backpack for my 14 year old daughter for school. Her old VB backpack did not hold up to the weight of her books, binders, laptop. She needed more room and sturdier construction. This pack fit the bill perfectly!! And bonus: she loves the color!!! Well done NorthFace!

I've had my recon backpack for about two weeks so far but I haven't been able to use it as much as I would like due to weather. My only complaint is that it is a little darker than I thought it was going to be. That is probably a good thing so that it won't show stains like a lighter color would. It has plenty of pockets for keeping everything organized whether you're going on a plane ride or day hike you'll be able to find your stuff.

Other than the zipper catching now and then, just an amazing pack. Would easily buy again.

I have never seen any other gift lasted that long with others . Made them thankful and remember me, the gifter very long. These North Face backpacks topped my list of gift items for friends and families.

I use this backpack for college, and it functions great for carrying many books to and from classes. Even with a heavy load it doesn't feel heavy on my back. It's much more comfortable than my last one. The only complaint I have is I wish the elastic pouch on the back was slightly bigger for the day when I need to pack an extra pair of clothes or a jacket, but it is a great backpack and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.

I picked this for my sister's 16th Birthday present because of the color. And it is wonderful. She loved it! It was so exciting to ooh and ahh over each pocket and strap!!

The backpack is excellent. It holds a ton of stuff and has many pockets to keep you organized. I really like how the side pocket for the water bottle is large enough for my big 32 ounce water bottle. I also like the pocket for the laptop, and the clip for keys. My only recommendation is to provide more color options like a pink or a turquoise.

My parents got me this for a valentines day gift but also because i really needed a new backpack.I did my research and i was really self conscious of buying a back pack.But when i got this I could just tell it'd be a great backpack.It has tons of pockets (which i really needed).Next time if i need a new backpack I'm going to get this.

Great quality and style. Really like the colors offered

I had the old version of the recon for 12 years. Really it just got too dirty and the elastic wore out. So I treated myself to the new version. It has clearly been refined in intelligent ways. It's got all the same pocket features but everything is much more compact and well placed. It looked like it wouldn't hold as much as the old one, but it does: the space is just utilized much more efficiently.

I am a college swim coach and use this backpack for our travel meets. There are various sized pockets, great padding for computer/iPad and I trust it to hold up on the pool deck. I will also use it for personal use when I fly and travel on my own.

I've owned the recon for a few years now and it looks just as good as when I initially purchased it. It has gone through the massive loads of stuff through nursing school, Texas gulf coast weather, and is now with me while I work. I also take it on outdoor adventures when need be. I love this backpack and will never buy another type. I doubt I'll have to replace mine any time soon, but if that time comes, I know exactly what I'll be purchasing!
