Bought the Recon and the Borealis to compare. Liked both as they're very similar, but the Recon is supposed to be bigger and better for outdoor use. I didn't find this to be the case, but its a personal preference. Both fit the same amount of things (pair of sneakers, gym clothes, a few notebooks, and a rain jacket) but the Borealis seemed to hold the weight differently. The Recon was more top heavy and looked "fuller". The main deciding factor was the water bottle pockets. They both fit large bottles but when wearing the backpack I could not get the bottle in or out of the pocket of the Recon but could with the Borealis.

Everything that I use and need for school fits perfectly!

Got this for my sophomore year in high school. I have lots of books and a laptop. It has lots of room and keeps everything organized just the way I like it.

North face backpacks never fail me! Love the durability of this backpack and how my books and laptop fit in just fine! 10/10 would recommend

School Gift.

This is an Awesome backpack, I loved it. The design and space looks awesome.

I use this backpack for nursing school since we have to carry around so many books and it eases the pressure off my back by staying in place and not hanging low. Not to mention the color is super cute and I always get comments on it.

I use it everyday for school and normal day. It's designed to be used for everything!!! It's not heavy and it's comfortable

Nice backpack

i bought the backpack from TNF in al kout mall in Kuwait were I live .. it was 145 usd !!! I had to get it because I was travelling the next day and I really like it .. yeah and there was no warranty

I typically use it for school. It carries my laptop and school books along with my other school supplies. I really do enjoy the back of the backpack as it allows air to cool my back. It also really light and not to mention it just looks wonderful.

I use this bag for college, it holds most of my books, granted, I have MANY book. It hold my laptop, pencils, and other necessities suck as my cup, phone, etc

This is the third version of the Northface Recon that I've had over the years and I love it's durability, functionality and overall design. There are great stash pockets for office supplies, Nalgene bottle and my laptop. Alternately I've used it many times as an airline carry on and as a quick overnight bag. I only bought the most recent version as my last was increasingly showing signs of wear in the mesh outside pocket and the plastic buckles were breaking after years of constant use and heavy loads. I really like some of the changes in this most recent version of the Recon. There is a padded sunglasses pocket at the top of the pack, a separate laptop sleeve and a smaller more easily accessible pen and accessories area.

My daughter wanted this backpack to start college this year. It fits her stuff well and it is comfortable for her.

This backpack has all the features one needs, and best of all it looks great. I have received many positive comments.

This backpack has saved my back while I am finishing my undergrad degree! With studying engineering, I always have to have my laptop with me, as well as books, calculator, and many other study aides. Also, long days on campus cause me to need to take food in as well. I am a small person, and the Women's Recon is perfect. Although, the zipper on the main pocket could go a little lower, because it is difficult to get to some of the stuff that gets stuck in the bowels of the bag when it is stuffed full.

This backpack is a staple. Do not let the price deter you-it is worth it! High quality time and time again!

Great backpack. Very comfortable and loading it doesn't change the overall appearance as my backpack from other sellers previously had. Very nice design but seems small. Nice computer pocket. Nice deep pockets for water bottles on the sides. My Yeti fits perfectly.

The design of this backpack is horrible. The backpack is very square so it is very ackward looking on your back. The straps are not attached at the top of the backpack they are attached about an inch or inch and half below so it makes the backpack very ill fitting and horribly unattractive. Only positive I can give is the color

The backpack is just the right size, offers a level of quality to withstand the life of a teenager and looks good while doing it.

This is a fantastic backpack with the perfectly placed and well thought out pockets. The small top pocket is lined with a soft material for items like sunglasses. The padding is high quality and won't break down. Very roomy and stable computer pocket. Highly recommend. This is one that will last.

It was fantastic I really loved the product it was everything I expected and it is what I need for school and all the heavy school thanx and will be buying every year from north face.
